- I've filmed this rare Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint Trofeo Europa by Autodelta during a track day organized by Club Motori di Modena at the Marzaglia circuit (MO). Autodelta originally built the chassis with which the Alfasud Sprint single-brand trophy run in 1982 and 1983 and the version you see is therefore only for the track. Passed under the care of the Giannetta workshop in Nonantola (Mo), the 1.6-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated boxer engine develops 205hp at 8,500 rpm. The electronics see an Efi Euro4 control unit; the gearbox is 5-speed with frontal couplings and the weight of about 930kg. We have to thank the owner for allowing us to install an onboard action cam.

Ho filmato questa rara Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint Trofeo Europa by Autodelta durante una giornata in pista oganizzata dal Club Motori di Modena presso l'autodromo di Marzaglia (MO). Originariamente l'Autodelta costruì i telai con cui si corse il trofeo monomarca Alfasud Sprint nel 1982 e 1983 e la versione che vedete è quindi solamente per la pista. Passata sotto le cure dell'Autofficina Giannetta di Nonantola (Mo) il motore boxer 4 cilindri da 1.6 litri aspirato sviluppa 205cv ad 8.500 giri/min. L'elettronica vede una centralina Efi Euro4, il cambio è a 5 rapporti con innesti frontali ed il peso di circa 930kg. Ringraziamo il proprietario per averci permesso di installare una action-cam nell'abitacolo.

Mi innamorai dell'alfasud sprint quando da bambino riuscii nell'impresa di convincere mio padre a comprarla (era una 1.3 grigia dell'88, con l'alettoncino...si chiamava già solo Sprint). Tutt'oggi sono innamorato di questa macchina, lei e la GTV puro amore!
Sono due macchine ancora belle nonostante gli anni che hanno sulle spalle 😉👍

In the 90s a friend of mine had one of the first alfasud sprint, we were out of lisbon, in the way back in the highway, one tire blows up, my friend with good hands pull the car to the side nice and easy, and i said" god whith another car we had a crash, love alfa sprint security since that accident, no accident because of stability of the car, by the way we were more than 150 km hour, descending....im still alive....

Qui, negli Stati Uniti, per quanta riguarda la GTV6, in tanti dicono che a causa dei freni posteriori accanto al cambio differenziale, tutto sia meno affidabile. La mia non ho guidato in pista, quindi non è mai successo niente del genere, ma avevano ragione loro? Grazie come sempre!
Bella domanda questa, dovrei chiedere al proprietario se ha notato questi problemi. Se non ricordo male anche l'Alfa Romeo 75 aveva la stessa collocazione dei freni. Però non penso di aver mai sentito problemi seri in merito, forse se fossero collocati sulle ruote si potrebbe aver maggior possibilità di raffreddamento dei dischi con più alta dispersione del calore.
I have heard about Alfasud for decades but never knew what it was. By this I guess it was Alfa's miniature GTV6 for the European market? I am sure this car is a very special one compared to most of them.
It was actually a further model, another car beside the GTV, produced from 1976 to 1989. The Sprint was sold in Europe, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.

With the boxer 4 it reminds me of a nicer looking Italian Subaru. This example sounds better than any Subaru I ever heard. The old Subarus in the US tended to last if you kept new timing belts on them. The bodies would eventually just rust away around a working drivetrain. Fiats did a similar thing here. You can find all sorts of British sports cars from then, most of those sat waiting to get worked on, many still do!
The Sprint was based on the sud which came out in 1973? 1186 cc. Then 1290, 1351and 1490 cc
Then in the 33 and the last of the sprints 1700cc, 8 then finnaly 16valve. I was sure Alfa made a few prototype aluminium block 1700's but after looking for 30 years I've yet to find one.
What i loved about these engines was the way you could swap parts to come up with different sizes for the variouse classes. Always there or there abouts with the power to be competitive at club level

Guarda, non ho le competenze per rispondere alla domanda, spero che qualcuno, leggendo i commenti, possa farlo motivando e dandoti informazioni. Esistono però "swap" di ogni tipo, lavorandoci penso che niente sia impossibile 😉
Beh l' Alfa aveva fatto la sprint 6c con il v6 2.5 , però il motore era centrale . Per farcelo stare sotto il cofano bisognerebbe almeno metterci il carter secco , per eliminare l' altezza della coppa olio ..
