You can see at 1:40 he does a mini scandinavian flick to help with sharp cornering it's incredible. Man I know RWD/AWD is better and faster but driving small light weight balanced FWD car is just such fun you feel so much confidence just flinging car into corners and going flat out nothing is like it.
rwd and awd is not always better as long as the hp number isnt too high. if you took this car and added awd to it, it would be slower on this time trial than the fwd car is. same understeer just heavier and the car is not struggling with traction. in this config the fwd is faster than if it was awd for this track. I doubt rwd would be faster.. looking at TCR, when you see those cars doing these hillclimbs you can see what a massive budget can do with fwd. Look it up, often times these TCR race cars with fwd, 330-350hp are beating or equalling 600-1000hp awd cars on these hillclimbs, it's mindblowing. whats even more crazy is that it's a fwd race car that sets equal times to cars with sometimes 3 amounts of the power PLUS the TCR cars are heavy! they're like 1250kg with only 330-350hp, modern race cars are not light anymore. So not only does it keep up, it keeps up being significantly heavier aswell, engineering is a marvel.
beautiful fantastic , this is perfect car. lightweight , that engine....damn. Also thank you very much for posting especially thanks for raw uncut onboard.
Watched it three times. I'm still wondering if the speedo is reading in MPH and not km/h. It looks and sounds like it's going a lot faster than the km/h numbers...😎
There's another Alfa Romeo Sprint or Alfasud Sprint featured on this channel sometimes in some hillclimb clips; its got a Martini livery as well but no widebody kit and has KRAMMER plastered across the rear bumper. Anybody know of this team and where I can find out more about they're build?
Yes all Alfa Sud (& Sprint) had flat four engines, in fact most if not all FWD Alfa Romeo's until the twin spark engines took over used flat four engines.
The typical boxer sound of the subaru turbos comes from the different lengths of the exhaust tubes. The turbo sits on the right side and the exhaust tubes from the left bank are about 1m longer than the ones from the right bank. There exists equal lenth tuning exhausts systems but then it sounds like an normal in line 4 cylinder motor since the ignition sequence is the same.
@@chefkochhuskyman578 Call me crazy, but I love a Subie with equal-length headers! Kinda like a Honda, but just slightly different in the sound department! Thanks for the info.
Er bringt tatsächlich die 250Ps. Zur Zeit arbeiten wir an einer Airbox, die bringt im oberen Bereich nicht mehr Leistung, dafür haben wir bei 7000 rund 20 Ps mehr 🙂

250HP from an N/A 1.6. Seriously impressive. Good soundtrack, too.
I was just thinking that myself... must be close to some type of ideal or record.
Liter bikes regularly make over 200 hp lol
@@streetfighter4006 True - but we're talking an Alfa Romeo engine 🙂
How does it compares to 11k starlet 4a-ge of Mikko?
I am curious what kind of maintenance that engine requires
Love the sound of a flat 4 n/a. 250 bhp 1.6 superb
Gotta love those wild alfas 😍
another gem in Hillclimb .. TY kind sir always a pleasure to watch this
sounds better than modern F1 thats for sure

@@Stance1988 And then there’s Minichberger, that builds FWD cars faster than TCR cars.
My Mother drove 2 Alfa Sprints in the 90s, a 1.5 and a 1.7. Cool little cars

Fully sending it all the way-that’s proper driving. And what a car. Thanks for sharing this.
Driver skill, machine make and engine sound, all of them are sick.

Great and Unique 👍👍
That thing looks like a handful to drive! Amazing driver, amazing sound, stunning car. I love your channel guys, keep up the good work

Shorter ratio gearbox = lightened car means going faster in acceleration :)
think so too, that doesn't look like its going 60kmh all the time at all
@@wagjkproduction755 The video don't do it justice due to frame rate issues as it look slow on youtube due to lower frames per seconds being used
Yeah, 60 Kmp H in 4th gear is pretty unlikely 😅
Speedo telemetry is inop..
Very impressive car. Beautiful intake noise. Great footage. Really enjoy this channel.
Class A driving! The tach tells the story! Alfa high fidelity sound!
What a glorious machine!
Amazing. It sticks to the road like an AWD would.
Thanks 😀
Auto bellissima e motore superbo ! Sembra molto nervosa in strada con tanto sottosterzo….da profano per carità.

lovely car and a capable and hard trying driver too.
Job well done and there's no valve bounce very good valve springs.
I wish we had more hillclimbs in the states.
What an engine 🤯
That speedometer had my head spinning: top speed 200 km/h, but i'm pretty sure the actual speed is in mph :)
Yes, I am also irritated.
It's not in mph, it's just not working like it's supposed to.
machine kidd 💯💪
What a stunning car!
awesome pilot

REVVVVVVVVVVVV IT
so if I well understood this flat 4 - 1,6ltr is a complet race engine development !
Or it's built from an Alfa base motor ?
👏👏👌👍💪💪
It's built from an original Alfasud Boxer engine with a lot of mods 🙂
The front looks like m3.
😁❤
This electrical steering colum is from Opel Corsa D or C?
It's from a Fiat seicento 🙂
Furckkkkkk!!! 😭👌
Really nice car, that engine going to over 9000 but the AFR is reading 1.1 to 1.79, is that Lambda, if so then that is insanely lean
Please change the title , that's clearly 9600+rpm
Better? 😆
@@HillClimbMonsters that's much better , thanks !
With Turbo?
Máquina! En castellano. ! ❤
Nice, but it looks like it could do with a rear wing ( BIG REAR WING )
barely touching the brakes on some turns goddamn
👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
The secret is AFR 1:1
It´s not an 10.000rpm Alfa if the rev limiter is set at 9700rpm.
Gurnigel...
Technically an Alfasud Sprint, no?
Yes, but later in the production run they dropped the "Alfasud" from the name and just called it a Sprint.

4 into 1 exhaust system while most production boxer engines are 4 into 2 into 1

Flat and boxer are different types of engine, not the same.
Flat engine is about the layout of the cylinders, nothing to do with the firing order. Boxer is subset of flat engine.
