U2 Perform "40" On The Tube on 185th March 1983. Originally unbroadcasted at the time as the live programme ended but the band carried on. Luckily C4 carried on filming.
My baptism verses were Psalm 40: 1-3 so I am amazed that 40 years after this video, today is the first night I knew of it's existance! I'm really happy about this :) Victor...

LOVE THIS ! ....I Remember Seeing U2 On 4-21-1987 Los Angeles Sports Arena They Ended The Show With Song "40" Everyone Was Singing "How Long To Sing This Song " All The Way To The Parking Lot....IT WAS CRAZY ! ...BEST SHOW OF MY LIFE !
I saw them the next day at the Apollo Manchester 83. Hung around early for the sound check and Bono (yep he stopped for a chat..) mentioned they continued filming. It was shown as a best of tube compilation a while later. Oh, the gig cost £3.00!!
There was another song after this that was recorded - would love to see that if someone has it recorded…I was in the audience that night that’s how I know…
They did the 5 songs, Gloria, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, 40, I Will Follow. Only the first 3 tracks were broadcast. Incidentally, the band loved the video footage (type of cameras used) they used the same for the Under A Blood Red Sky video a few months later, cameras left red streaks with the bright lights.
