For me he provided one of the best performances. Great actor.
Only in the first film about 10 minutes yet his acting always has stuck with me
EVER
And such a wholesome man. Seems like he played himself in Dune. Props to casting him, very fitting choice.
Yup, Stilgar is probably my favorite Dune movie character. He's done alot better here compared to the book imo. To see him go from what seemed like a ruthless, cold badass to a vulnerable, hope searching, friend was a masterful performance and writing.

Both he and Austin could get Best Supporting Actor noms for this movie. They were both excellent.
I thought Bardem's was the best performance of the movie but there were so many A+ performances that it's nitpicking and probably just comes down to personal preference
Those were the only two good ones, especially Austin he was amazing. Timothee brought it down
Although Javier and Austin did an amazing job, I don't disagree, Rebecca Ferguson absolutely nailed her role, as well. I think she is completely underrated with her portrayal of the reverend mother
Bardem never dissapoints. Natural talent for acting
I enjoyed every second he was on screen. He brought so much gravity to their party, he seemed very knowledgeable and he did the subtle jokes part. Amazing actor. My hat off to you Javier Bardem
Best Supporting Actor nomination. I hope.
Yes, the film is proof of everything Javier says in this interview is 100% true. You gotta see it in theatre. IM AX if you can. It is an immersive experience ❤
💯 agree
Watched in IMAX, the movie is masterpiece
Javier is so awesome as Stilgar!!
every actor on this movie left an impression on the movie, which is really rare. we had great expectation, and they exceed all of them, its just a great job by everyone
I personally did not care for Zendaya's character, but I did love everyone else!
LOVE Javier Bardem so much in this movie, absolutely stellar!
My favorite character in the movie ❤
Agree Timothy delivered his lines so well whether shouting "This is not hope" to his mother,or 'I will love you as long as i have breath" to Chani.I goin to take my 14 yr old nephew to see at Easter after watching on imax on fri ❤😅
Taking your teen nephew to see Dune 1.2 makes you the coolest aunt/uncle ever! 🤩🧿
Ironic, as the movie is a warning about the dangers of Messianic figures.
In a stellar cast he stole the show IMHO. Just loved his character ❤️
I hope he gets a supporting actor nomination; because he authentically sold me on Stilgar every moment he was on screen. I still haven't seen No Country for Old Men, so kudos for DN for bringing these actors' talents to light and wide attention!
I don’t know about anyone else but Javier made the movie for me. He is crazy talented
IMO Bardem was the guy that sold Paul's transformation.
The sandworm scene. 👍
What a legend - love this guy. Absolutely killed it in part 2. Mad respect.
JB is a gift to movie goers in anything he's in
Javier loves... beautiful description it's not a movie it's a piece of art
If you weren’t keen to be cast by Villeneuve before seeing this interview, you would be after. High praise from a brilliant actor
I watch this and I`m like - he was soooo good in the film, and then I watch some Austin Butler interview and I`m like - he was soooo good in the film ... they were all brilliant - a perfect movie
I my opinion his role as Stilgar in Dune 2 deserves him Oscar for best suporting actor...GREAT JOB
Dune Part 2 was so masterful! Going to see it weekly is a strong possibility for me.
best acting in the film, along with rebecca ferguson
He was so funny!
:’) Javier, you’re a gem.
Mark it down. Javier wins best supporting actor Oscar.
My favorite character
Javier is one of the greats.
Javier Bardem reminds me so much of Anthony Quinn here.
God bless you Javier. I appreciate your great work my friend!
He's such a great actor. Stilgars blind devotion was funny at first but by the end of the movie, terrifying. Crazy to think this is the same dude from Vicky Christina Barcelona
He makeup for Dune 2 look like man from middle east, great looking best version I think
Live action Haddock right there
He was the highlight of
8:08 After having watched the movie a second time but this time in IMAX, I can only agree with Javier's Statement here. It changed my outlook on what I enjoy in movies and gave me an incredible and unparallaled experience.
Great to see Llewelyn and Anton in the same movie again.
the new Anthony Quinn.
Everyone should inspire to have a ride or die like stilgar
Call it, muad'dib’o
Lisan al-gaib!!!!
Stilgar! Just believe! :D
I really think there is a possibility that Frank Hubert must have been a time traveler. At least in his head.
Tuan. Naib of Sietch Tabr.
I didnt have any expectations, which I mostly don't have regarding films I'm going to watch in the movie theatre. That's a conscious decision, because I don't want that expectation to interfere with the experience. I liked some aspects of David Lynch's Dune better than the first Dune-film from Dennis Villeneuve, for some reason it felt sterile and distant for me. "Dune-Part Two" was much more engaging and "alive", it felt to be full of energy. I liked Christopher Walken too. Dave Bautista's death and the very ending was a bit anti-climactic and a bit rushed, but otherwise it was a very solid film with great performances and thrilling premises. A true cinema-experience with more depth than the average sci-fi-fantasy film.
Lisan al Gaib!! 💪
Joe from the last of us kkkkkkkk
As written..
I cared little for the subtle (or not so subtle) humor that Stilgar brought forth. I didn't see much humor in the novel, and didn't see a need for it in Dune 2.

he was always a good actor, but i think with this performance he entered legend territory
