This episode showcases a big part of Shigaraki's development as a character. Back at the beginning of the series, he would've immediately tried to destroy whatever annoyed him. Especially if it was disrespectful. But here, he's calm for a while even after Overhaul disrespects him, isn't even the first person to jump into the mix, and is studying his opponent while preventing the rest of his team from attacking and unlike back at the beginning of the series, actually cares about those in the League. He's learning as a villain that sometimes waiting before striking is key. And that's what makes Shigaraki compelling.
@@ETZFuzZBall They are but there's something more charming, unique and compelling when it comes to the latter, if the former are, then the latter are that and more
In Japan, there is a superstition that says, when you sneeze it means there is someone talking about you. This is a very common trope in animes. Very often you will see a scene of someone being talked about right before a cut to the person sneezing. They aren't sick, they are just sneezing based on this superstition.
Not sure if anyone brought it up yet, but Nighteye's sidekick Bubble Girl is actually one of two characters introduced this arc whose design was created by a fan! The other character will show up soon enough. 😉
Overhaul is one of my favorite characters in the series and man that card Overhaul threw took flight. I'm also really glad Compress survived as the first time I saw his arm getting destroyed I was really worried.
Being a villain just kinda means someone that’s breaking the law or going against the heroes. It’s not a organisation like the heroes so it’s natural that villains don’t agree on a lot of stuff. Villains is against heroes but also villains unless the have similar goals in mind or share some kind of relationship. Btw great video as always
I'm seeing duk at same time I'm getting the recent MHA manga content, I just keep thinking that he knows nothing. Damn remember when Overhaul was the main concern for the heroes.
The only justification for the tickle machine torture I can find... I think Sir only uses it for a short time. Like, 3-minute laughter time-out punishment thing. That wouldn't be too bad. ...Unless you're allergic to tickling, that is
Bruh three minutes isn’t bad??? You have definitely not been tickled before cause there was one time when I was little I was tickled for only 30 seconds straight and I very nearly almost lost consciousness from not being able to breathe. Idk if you know this but it’s literally considered physical abuse to tickle someone like that. I get that this is an anime and I don’t take it seriously at all but saying three minutes of unwanted tickling is not too bad is just wrong bro 😭
The yakuza is more than just a gang or the Japanese equivalent of the mafia. They have a longer history and traditions they follow, as well as an honor system.
Actually, Magne is a woman! It kinda gets overshadowed by the generally craziness that happens whenever the league shows up, so I don't blame you for forgetting.
@@nikkih9534 No, you're right! I went to check on Hulu and Spinner does call her Big Sis Mag when she threatens to crush one of the pussy cats in the "My Hero!" episode.
Just something to keep in mind guys. This is a JAPANESE animation, its part of their culture these "weird stuff". Don't worry tho, you'll get used to it. It aint meant to be a creepy bizarre reason, its just a over exaggeration of stuff, like.. a serious guy that belives in smiles but lacks the ability to make people laugh, so he just "punish" them to make them smile. Bizarre... I agree... But, again, is Japan man... We can't expect they behave like we do. As always, keep the good work guys ! (Miss doggo on screen)
This group (Midoriya, Togata, and Nighteye) are going to struck your hearts this season. And btw, you'll know that Mirio was wrong. Midoriya's impersonation is not "Not funny". You'll know why Nighteye didn't laugh.
Not trying to be that type of person but the meaning behind the tickle scene was lost in the anime due to the stupid studio thinking that it was supposed to be fan service in the manga when it’s not (it was supposed to be just a small comedic plot twist, nothing more like what they did in the anime), which led the perverted director of this episode to take advantage of it and make it super sexualized🤢🤮, I feel bad for the author because this scene specifically had half-damaged his reputation due to the anime’s inaccurate adaptation😞😪.
It actually does a good job of calling out the pronouns thing in a few episodes' time. :D But yes, she's canonically one of the three confirmed trans people in MHA.
It's not y'alls fault cuz it really isn't clearly explained, but it always feels weird when Duk calls Magne "he", knowing about a moment from later in the arc. The worst writing decision Horikoshi ever made was that tickle machine scene, it's supposed to be a weird joke but it's just insane and creepy in practice. Bubble Girl's outfit is also so sexualized, even compared to other ladies' costumes; probably because she was designed by a fan. It makes it way creepier, and is a bad first impression for an otherwise great character.
I think the ideas was to fool the viewer into thinking he was going to do something horrible to Bubble Girl, but it was actually just a comical punishment. Unfortunately, being tickled was a poor choice, since it comes across as perverted. It should have been a different kind of embarrassing punishment, like Deku walks in on Nighteye forcing Bubble Girl to listen to him singing karaoke, or something.
@@Rocket1377 I thought the point was that she failed to make him laugh, so he forced her to laugh using a tickle machine, and I don't think Bubble girls outfit is more revealing then say Momo's costume, I think people are being overly sensitive towards this scene, it literally lasts like 10 seconds, but people can rant longer than that about how "bad" it is. @@themightycongueror8383 People don't complain about the hot spring scene because Mineta is _supposed_ to be a pervert. Pretty sure it's not exclusive to Japan. We have something identical in Poland.
