This one will put a grandson through college. It’s a spectacularly beautiful log and it was cut by a master. Thank you for letting us watch you work. I’d truly love to feature a log like this in our home, but the logistics of getting it San Antonio, Tex as is daunting. Please wet these logs so we may see their beauty!

すごい巨木の栴檀ですね。こんなに育つんですね。どう捌くか腕と勘の見せ所と言う感じの樹形ですね。やはり綺麗な杢目が現れましたね。追伸、福袋があったので注文しました。楽しみに待っています。ちなみにDIYでドライサウナナの小屋を作る予定なので内部の腰掛に利用する予定です。

栴檀は双葉より芳しといいますが、双葉というのは大根が芽生えた時のような、あの２枚葉でしょう。大根の２枚葉が、こんなに巨木になるとは信じがたいですね。
製材するときは、いい匂いがするのですか。

最初に言います。ごめんなさい 長いので飛ばしながら拝見します。
この木を見て言うわけではありませんが、栴檀て素直な真っ直ぐなものが少ないようですね！杉・檜は実に素直で建築材として優良児と痛感します。
この形では機械にセットするのも一苦労。フォークリフトから要注意ですねぇ・・・・青・桃レンジャーさんご用心願います。
そのうえ表皮の荒々しいこと うねった姿はさしづめ断末魔の大蛇か龍。言うまでもなく素直な過ぎに比べて数倍の手間。思い込みですが栴檀はきめ細かな材で硬いのでは・・・・・となれば細工を要する用途に向く人気の材ではありませんか？
家具とか床の間とか・・・・
うねった姿から思いもよらぬ大板が採れましたねぇ こういうのがあるから手をかけてもやる価値があるんだよー（青レンジャーさん談）
豪快な木目を生かしたテーブルではありきたりかなぁ・・・・

荒々しく豪快な樹形と大きさですが、栴檀は大きくなるのが早いので、この木も実はまだ樹齢は若めです。
我が家のテーブルも今は栴檀を使っています。
いつの日かねこねこさんと栴檀のテーブルを挟んで木のうんちくを語り合いたいものですね♪(*^_^*)
