I ordered a 77x12 utility trailer with diamond plate decking and today I told them ti do wood instead because I'm concerned about how slippery can get and how hot during the summer. What do you think about it now that you have steel???
I’ve never noticed an issue with it being too hot. Probably want to take a noon nap somewhere else in August though. Slipperiness not an issue I’ve seen either.
What dimension is the sheet of metal? Im trying to do the sides of my trailer and not sure what size will the sheets b and want to have an idea over what would cost b.. by the way how much did u pay for the one u used on this vid.. thanks and the trailer looks way better now.. how has it held up? No corrosion?
I bought a 5' x 10' sheet of 11 gauge. I think it was around $275. There is surface rust but it doesn't bother me since the trailer is meant to be used. Currently it's full of plywood cutoffs from a cabinet project. Good luck.
I just keep replaying it for the music... And trying not to envy the garage, tools, and skill. 👍
Thanks for the compliment!
Everything goes so smooth when having the right tools 👍
Most of the time 😁
Good ole "texas trailer supply" trailer. I already need to replace my boards after only 5 years.
Yes, Texas trailer supply, purchased in Manor. Not the best, but sure can't beat the price

Great work...🙌
Thank you!
Nice
Any particular reason you started with mig, instead of smaw with the flooring?
MiG is just faster, but I ran out of wire
Great job - looks like you've got it down pretty good. What's next?
thanks! I'm currently working on a electric fence video
Hey, what do you call that cool little blue panel grippy thing?
I'm pretty sure this is what I have

@@LewisRenovation thanks for the info
Hey what dimensions and gauge were those red steel box tubing that you put beneath the plate for spacing and support?
@@JeepLJ they are 3 x 1.5 x 3/16. I've got a whole pile of them that were scrapped out
Why thickness of diamond sheet was that?
I believe it was 1/8, but could have been 14g as well
thats the way to do it
Thank you for the comment!
Whats the weight comparison with wood?
11 gauge steel ~ 200 pounds
2x10 PT ~ 225 pounds
just this a.m. I bought a 5' x 10' piece of 1/8 like this to do the exact same thing to my 5 x 8 trailer. they cut it to size for free. $305.
Good luck with your project!
Much appreciated
Happy you enjoyed the video!
