I’m way behind in my flosstube but I loved watching this video on Christmas Eve because I have several of “Not even a mouse” ornaments on my tree, along with a couple snowmen by Lori Birmingham. I loved her stuff and I’m sure if I went deep in my stash I’d find more of her patterns. I love watching videos with older patterns and remembering designers. Things sure have changed. I also have a stitched snowman sweatshirt and I also used to make stitched onesies as baby gifts.
Love this type of video, Amanda. So many fun patterns and kits! Seems like YT would need to notify you if they take down a video...cross stitching is pretty controversial, though! Lol!
That's was fun to watch and I enjoyed seeing your collection. Cheers to you finding those projects and looking forward to see you work through start to finish! 💝
Oh thank you so much for inserting the air quote scene from Friends. I love Friends and especially Joey. I laughed so hard. Your video was a fun blast from the past. Thanks for sharing.
WOW!! I too have many Stoney Creek , Leisure Arts, Paula Vaughn, Better Homes and Gardens Christmas books. One of my current WIPs is My Fair Lady from Stoney Creek designer Larante from 1993. Some of these patterns are timeless. Enjoy stitching many of your “new “ patterns.
Hi Amanda! Loved seeing these older charts - thank you for sharing with us! Really brought back so much nostalgia for those early day of cross-stitch. I had a few of the same ones.. Loved "if you want to go blind..." I always laugh about people showing bits of charts on FT too; more power to you if you're desperate enough to make that work for you lol! Thank you for the shout out my friend! Much love! 💖
Thanks Mary! I actually saw someone show a page from a HAED and feel bad for showing the pattern. Made me chuckle cause it was likely one of 50 pages.🤣
Hasn’t been deleted yet 🫣 Thanks for sharing, I love all those old kits, proper cross stitch I call them, even though I don’t stitch them anymore! Have a great weekend 🙂
Hi. Just catching up on your videos. I thought I was the only one who went through a cross-stitch teddy bear stage. I have owned and still working on Dimensions' "Teddy and Kittens" its release in 2008. I started stitching for my niece to gift it to her and her parents for her first birthday in 2009. At the rate I am going on that piece, I may be gifting it to my great niece! I for one enjoy watching "hauls" and give myself a 24/48-hour detention if I see something I MUST have from having seen it on someone's haul video. Sometimes it works; other times - oh well. Its my craft, my time and my money.
Loved seeing all the old collection today--I remember so many of those back in the day myself. You are one of the handful of flosstubes I watch anymore. But I truly enjoy every one of yours because your taste in projects is quite similar to mine and you do such beautiful work. I enjoy listening to your voice also. So calm...
I have one of those rooms too where all the stuff I didn't know what to do with jumped in there. I blame it on my son for moving out of the room. I've been stitching since the 70s so I have and have stitched alot of Teddy bears🧸 🐻. I am sitting a bear now!
I sure enjoyed your vintage parade today! We’re a lot them stitched a 14 count? I didn’t hear you state stitch count. I remember soooo many of those patterns.
This was such a fun video to watch. I have several of those Lori Birmingham pieces, and have even stitched a couple of them. I have the majority of the Paula Vaughan charts as well, and have started a couple, but I don't believe I've ever finished one. When my mom "returned" the items I'd stored in her attic, I didn't have anything as fun as your stash.. it was all college textbooks I swore I'd need in the future, very dated decor from my college years and clothing that I can't imagine why I wanted to keep... lol
The lorri Birmingham kits are super cute. I remembered was I looked through the bag. I've never started a Paula Vaughan but I love her patterns. Definitely on my bucket list!
#creepykidcrossstitch You started it. I've got at least two candidates I can think of off the top of my head for that hashtag. Let's see if we can get it to be the video equivalent of The Wave with every flosstuber holding up their creep kid pattern in succession. I haven't seen most of these designs because they were from my Missing Years when I took a break from stitching. Thanks for showing them. I'd also nominate #unicornpoop as a hashtag but that's probably already a thing. Great video as always. Hilarious 😂!
Hi Amanda! What a blast from the past! I do recognize some of the charts you showed! I believe I sent them your way a few years back! Funny to see them again! Maybe you will get a chance to stitch a few of the oldies but goodies! I love all the bears and bunnies! Always had good intentions to stitch them and put them in my son’s room, but time has way of getting away from us all! Anyway, always love your videos and I look forward to seeing your wips and new starts soon! Happy Crafting!
Hi patty thanks for watching. These were patterns that came from my collection when I lived with my mom. Yes, I now have two of some of them because you sent some of the same patterns. 😂😂
@@luckychancestitcher Wow! We really had the same taste way back when! Funny how time changes what we liked then and now! It was really fun seeing them and thinking how much I loved them! Maybe some giveaways are in order! Have fun stitching!
Amanda, how you doin'?! Lovin' the clip inserts. 😄 Sorry the last video got deleted. I've had several comments go missing. Nothing 'bad' or controversial so no idea why. Certainly nothing like the profanity I've seen in some (not flosstube). Sherry from She-Bee's Stitchy World and Michelle from Romantic Tangle find stitching stuff at thrift stores. Sherry has gotten literally YARDS of aida and linen. And, Michelle has found dozens of pattern books, sometimes kits, and sometimes stitches to save or not. This was a fun video; however, next time please let us know at the beginning there will be a drinking game for everytime you say "cute." 🤣
Love seeing all the older patterns. They’re not my style - never really were - but it brings back memories. As for videos being deleted I think it’s usually copyright stuff that causes it - I’d be careful of your Friends clip - this video may disappear as well 😢. I can’t recall anything in particular about your last video though. Hope your summer is going well and you’re staying cool.
Thanks mellissa! I think video deletion can happen if someone complains about your video. After upload, the video is scanned for copyright material before it is published. It's still likely a "no no" to use clips from shows/movies but their software likely didn't pick it up. That's actually the step that takes the longest. I guess I will never know. 🤷♀️ Just a bit frustrating because making videos takes time. Just wish they would provide an explanation. Honestly, there are some things in that pile I don't think I will ever stitch but it was kind of neat seeing it again. It's amazing to see how much cross stitch has evolved!
What a treasure! I love going to a thrift store to check out for possible cross stitch supplies, sometime will save a stitch - a stitched piece that I can leave there. The only negative thing in thrift store buys is smell. Do you know how to get rid of smell in books/ booklets/frames?!
Lots of neat things go through thrift stores. You can actually buy charcoal containers. They are meant to be put in rooms to get rid of cigarette/must smell. I found that if you put one in a garbage bag with whatever you are trying to rid the smell of, it really works well. If I can find the link to what I'm referring to, I will send it.
Something like this will work. www.amazon.ca/Higgins-Ash-Purifying-Rechargeable-Activated/dp/B08L1CS5QT/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=13VLU5HGMJ084&keywords=charcoal+smell+absorber&qid=1658618643&sprefix=charcoal+sme%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-3
Had my whole channel removed for multiple violations. Not specified. I have no idea why. I filed a… dispute? Never heard back🤷♀️ Lost about 130 videos🙇♀️ Still bitter😂😂😂
I remember when that happened to you! Still so sorry for you Shelley. Videos take so much work so I can't imagine losing that many. I know that if you didn't designate your old videos as "made for kids" or not "made for kids", there was a notice that they would remove the videos. Not sure if that may have been the reason but they should have notified you for sure. Happy that you didn't stop filming because of it.🤗
@@luckychancestitcher I still film, but under this name- It’sOnlyStitching, but I just don’t have as much time to record, so it’s pretty sporadic. I hope you find out why you lost one- it’s pretty hard to stop doing something wrong if you don’t know what was wrong 😂😂
I enjoyed this walk down memory lane. That cat is pist...I died laughing!
Loved seeing all of this vintage stash!! So many adorable patterns, I can’t wait to see you stitch them!❤

Stoney Creek Teddies of the Year - I have that book as well and always wanted to do them all, they are so adorable! Love all your re-found stash!! 😍
Thanks for sharing. Happy stitching!

I love your stash videos! Thanks for sharing. I’m sorry one of your videos disappeared. That’s so strange.
Thanks!🤗
A trip down memory lane…..AND I wrote a couple leaflets down…. Thanks a lot 🤣😂 have a great day!
Thanks vonna! I'm glad to help you spend your money!🤣🤣

I love Stoney Creek, too. My favorite.
I have some of the Dale,Lori, Paula, and Alma Lynne’s too. Teddy Bears, Bunnies, and Noah’s Ark were so popular.
Fun video of patterns I have never seen before. Thanks for sharing.
A walk down memory lane! Love it! Thanks, Amanda! Karen of Prom Queen Stitcher 🤓.

That is a great idea. I'm sure it prevents a lot of "knee jerk" purchases.
