Thank gave up on one watch but still going mad with the RNIB talking but cannot find the point of contacting to on the max life sports watch two batteries fine I think my have shorten the or killed the upper part that talks but it's definitely scared now keep up the good work .
Yup... I have the same square Armitron Watch that you have... And the screen was totally black. It would not even show me the time, until I touched that AC pad.. Thanks a lot for making the solution simple
Near as I can tell, that is all it does. I don't know why the label was there saying to do it after replacing a battery. If yours is working fine, I'd personally just leave it alone.
I'm sorry. I don't know enough to comfortably tell you that magnetic tools are safe. I do not know why they would cause a problem, but I also don't know enough to tell you they won't. Unfortunately I have not worked with Seiko. I would look for something on the watch labeled "a+" and if you find it, touch it with one screw driver, touch the battery with another screwdriver, then touch the screw drivers together while they are still touching a+ and the bsttery.
Do two small gaskets go on the two little things on the circuit board that you can see under the two holes right before you take the battery out? Because when taking my metal back off I found a small little rubber gasket when I took the back off and was curious if it was supposed to be on one of them or just some random piece that got placed inside.
I'm sorry; that does not sound familiar. The only gasket I recall was for the back of the watch itself. They may have been there and I just don't remember as it has been a while since I did this.
I found a very small square block on the table after I opened mine. I don't know where it goes. I hope the watch will work once I get a battery. The instructions on how to loosen the battery clip were not good on the particular UA-cam video I watched. I did not know how to open the clip and took the entire movement apart.
Sorry for not showing that. It is different for the different ones. There is usually some plate covering the battery. It may be round and cover the whole thing, or just be a little metal bridge of sorts across it. There is often a little tiny screw holding it down, or some type of clip.
Thanks for the info. Absolutely despise changing out batteries on these.
It was certainly a learning experience for me.
Finally a video with a perfect explanation, thanks for sharing this
Thank you!

Is this short-circuit operation just reset the watch? what if i didn't do it after battery reaplacement, it seems work fine at my watch.

You're quite welcome.
I have an old Armitron dive watch. No A/C markings at all. Very frustrating.
Dang, hope you get it sorted out.
@@HoldMyBeverage Thanks. I may wind up going to the jeweler even though I changed the battery.
Do you have to use non-magnetic tools?I have a Seiko that says you have to short A+ on the battery to .No idea what that means.

My display started having only partial numbers. Bottom of 2 missing. Changed battery and still missing bottom of 2?? Any ideas, just cheap watch?
Unfortunately, I don't know enough to offer any suggestions. I hope you are able to find something.
