- I could not find any instructions online of where to short circuit. Took me over an hour to figure out where the short circuit points were. If this technique does not work for you consider using something you are sure is conductive as some screwdrivers have coating which prevents electrical conduction. Maybe steel tweezers or speaker wire or a soldering iron point. This is for an armitron watch.
Thank you! Similar to others, I had been wrestling for some time on my own before finding your video. Very thoughtful of you to post right after you had solved it.
It's amazing how there is no proper description anywhere. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for this video… I have a decathlon watch and I really couldn’t figure out what to do… I’ll try this next!
Dude, you said you hoped it would help someone, it was PERFECT! Thank you! Up and running again
OMG. You don't know how helpful your video was for me..... Thanks
Great video - thanks! My daughter's Armitron watch is a little different from the one in the video, but this helped me find the right 2 points to short together. I used a pair of long metal tweezers to short the two point.
Thank you...I have an older (70’s) Seiko watch that was my fathers and I needed to see how you short circuited the battery to get the watch running.
Thank you for taking time film and post this video. Helped me. And you sir, saved this watch I have.
It started to get the best of me. Almost choose to end this watch. Make for sure it wouldn't read another damn number.
You are shorting it by creating a circuit between the + positive and - negative sides of the installed battery. Thanks for the tip!
I've been changing batteries for a while and the first time I've run across this situation? Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the help. I couldn't figure it out, but now my watch works again!
This worked for me as well, my Armitron WR 165 was slightly different and took a minute to figure out where to place my screwdriver tip for the negative connection--but once I found the hole--it reset immediately. I was having trouble and started thinking the new battery (which sat on the self in my cabinet for god knows how long--was dead).
I was about to try other points on the watch but this video helped. Thank you.
Thank you! I really needed this tonight, couldn’t figure out what that meant.
Mine was just frozen, so I just had to open the back cover and remove the battery for a couple of seconds. Thanks for the instructions anyway
Similar with my Relic watch. I'll try your method.
Thank you! Mine is not the same model but at least your video helped to understand the logic behind it and I could short circuit it!
Thanks for your help on this one !!!
It worked Thank you Up and running again
TY! How complicated. I tried w/a regular metal tweezers but no go! I had to do exactly as you did w/two screwdrivers to make it restart again. Yes, frustration!
Thanks, didn't make sense to me so here to UA-cam
you helped me and I am SO grateful. Thank you
Brilliant. Thank you!
Thanks! I had the same problem. You're awesome. I needed this help.
It works! It works! Thank you ;)
It works with replacing a CR2016 also. THANK YOU!!
I didn't have a clue either...Thanks!
thanks for your video
THANK YOU!!
Thanks so much. Worked perfectly!
thank you this helped so much!!!!!

your video did helpful. thank you so much.
Thanks It worked. I love You Tube!
I have a casio databank db520, and after the AC, when i screw the backside on the display fades and comes back when i push a button and then fades again, what could be the problem?
U r a life saver
THANKSSSS
Thanks. I have to do this on my pulsar.
I have a cheap Swiss Army watch that has capstone tape under the battery, but it got unstuck and wrinkled up ....... I think my battery is either shorting out incorrectly or it already did and half melted that yellow capstone tape and maybe permanently ruined the watch?
THANK YOU
Thank you! Can't find my 2 points. Grrr
Fixed. Thank you
I changed the cr2025 battery in my Amitron sports watch and the clips are not holding the watch tightly together anymore, what to do?
Thanks for posting this. I changed the battery on mine but even after shorting it out, I wasn't able to keep the screen on. It just slowly fades out to a blank display. Voltage meter indicates I have a new strong battery but I think it might just be time to throw it into the landfill.
Excellent video. And thank you very much for this vital information.
Now, there's only one problem............
When I reset the battery, it DOES go back to:
SA 1
12:00am
And the seconds start at zero.
However, when I try to set the time, absolutely nothing happens. In fact, the indiglo light will not even work. And it has a bran new battery.
Would you happen to know what gives?? Thanks.
I'm not a full tech support person but if you're doing the correct button presses and nothing is happening seems your buttons may also be broken.
Mine is doing the same thing! So pissed after wasting all night trying to fix it- guess I will buy a new watch tomorrow and guess what kind it won’t be?
I noticed the same issue with the buttons. The fix was to put the metal backplate back on, then the buttons worked fine!
I got a sticker with 3 buttons
What did you touch near they screw? I need help
If you also own the watch please set it up the way I did. When you look at the screw there are metal leads that are next to the screw. Connect those leads with another metal item.
I changed my battery and now the light stays on.
