YKW I need beat tips from you dawg cus I'm the type of teen that loves old school music and classics and I'm working on making my beats better for my mom cus she's a songwriter and rapper / singer. So from what I'm hearing did you like sample a classical song then pitched it to where you can place your beat over it
You take an old song, choose and cut up a part that loops well and use that as a melody, then you make a beat around that. I recommend pitching up/down the sample to make it sound and fit the vibe you're going for. BTW I'm not a prod so I prolly won't be any more help, I just know how sampling works. Hope this helps! If not look up "How to sample old songs"
I sampled the song above and basically just found parts I liked that loop good then I EQ the high and lows out the song and added fruity filter on fl studio so there was room for me to put stuff overtop of it, I did speed up the sample so the pitch is a lil higher but I didn’t pitch it manually.
Honestly most of what I know is from UA-cam + trial and error so if you want to get into it I’d definitely recommend watching a lot of UA-cam videos on producing and just start making as many beats as possible💯
I hate when beats get a dope sample and then ruin it by putting it on loop and not using other parts of the sample to make it sound better got potential just too repetitive
Loop is a good way to get an idea out when you want to spend time on other things but still want to share a vibe w others. But I agree, better when not looped haha.
straight fire bro u one of the most underated producers rn
