    Hi All! I attached a video that just saved me thousands. The rear motor takes some work to get out but that is really what I needed to replace or the dealer service department was in order. I ordered the rear blower motor (make sure it is the rear...the front has a little tube running out of it) and followed this guys quick video for removing it and the job was d.o.n.e. Working again and the new motor was under $80. Watch out for the two little screws behind the piece that is attached to the motor unit. That unit has the door that swings from heat to ac air. Its the middle piece and sits in the cutout of the floor. I don't know the name. After you get the other screws out, you can find those two from the back (two Phillips head regular screws). I tried cleaning it but have always just needed to know how to get the dang thing out. That is what this video shows. Hope it helps someone if the cleaning doesn't. I bought my part from DTAutoparts LLC part number GP2311683 (I believe). My 5 kids are HAPPY! I'm not a mechanic either. Just went slow and easy.

      Just an extra note of explanation on how to loosen the whole assembly so that you can get the clearance to remove the blower:
      ... You will need to go under the van to loosen 3 10mm nuts which will allow the assembly to shift just enough. Hope this helps.

    Is there a filter on the intake side of the blower fan? Seems like it would be a good place to have one. Maybe a piece of foam air filter or nylon stocking stretched across the opening. Just don't let them get sucked into the fan. Not sure how you would attach to the blower. Good job on the cleaning. Great video as always!

      There is an after market filter bracket that goes on the intake vent. Other than that, no filter from Nissan on it... Crazy

      @@StevensFamilyFarms I actually ended up finding the issue. It was the knob itself. The plastic was broke, which I knew, but didn't realize how much of it was broke, until I took it apart again and realized I could turn it will a pair of pliers.

    When you put the panel back on there is a vent, not the intake vent for the a/c the one toward the drivers seat. What air goes thru that one? I have no idea. and I am a HVAC tech. also if you add some filter media in front of the intake vent it will catch a lot of that dirt.

    • @StevensFamilyFarms
      @StevensFamilyFarms  3 роки тому +1

      The vent farthest from the drive is the intake and you can order an after market filter bracket that screws on and holds a replaceable filter. The other vent I believe is for when your running the heater.

    Very good. But the air flow chokes off when it goes thru the headliner ducts. The fabric air ducts in the headliner restricts air flow. I created a rear air flow kit that mounts under the headliner. My air flow kit will blow air out of the middle and rear vents at 30 mph.

    Didn’t work on our 2016 NV. Im guessing after 5 years, the other side of the evaporator fins that can’t be seen is simply caked with too much dust, etc. I followed the instructions, but only gained a couple mph of airflow: from 3mph before to 5mph after… maybe. Sure wish I could get on the other side of the fins somehow.

      @@StevensFamilyFarms having issues again with mine. stopped working on the way back from Marfa, tx. had to rig up some small fans to push the front cabin air back to my kids. Defintely going to give this a shot again, but go the extra step and clean the evaporator.

    Unless you're rear AC lines are leaking, which is common, then you have to take the body off the frame to install new ones. Unless you block it off or try splicing in something that can hold that pressure.
