What's not to love about a project video that already starts with Smudo being an awesome dog? Hope the young lady will have a ton of fun with her new desk. Maybe you'll even get a nice drawing from her to always remind you of this project when you see it on your workshop wall.
I LOVE waking up on Sunday morning and finding a Laura Kampf Adventure waiting in my inbox! Aside from this being another OUTSTANDING project (that little girl will treasure this table, growing with it into adulthood) the video production, music, & storytelling is TOP of the list! A+++ . Hey, everyone, how about being a Laura Kampf Patreon so she can keep this show growing!!!!
Fantastic idea. Lovely, subtle use of colour. And its nice to see that [even with a much pricier jigsaw than mine] its not just me that gets bevelled cuts. Great project and a mesmerising video as usual.
This looks fantastic! Totally worth waiting an extra week for. I'm sure your friend's daughter will get many years of enjoyment out of this. Thanks for sharing!
I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Beautiful build. I might make a computer table using this design with some hardwood scraps I have lying around. That forked tenon and mortise joint is super strong.
I like your videos, I just hope all the people see that your old builds with tools obtainable by mortals were just as good or maybe even better. It was atleast very inspiring for me to see what projects could be talked without the need for expensive gear.
If you watch my old videos you will see me use a Festool saw just the same. Blaming tools for not getting the job done right is just as wrong as giving them credit for a job gone right. You can build a shitty project with an expensive tool just as well as a great project without a cheap tool. It’s about the skills of a maker. But if I have a choice-I’d rather work with nice tool.
Really good idea, nice realization! And I thought: how strange, a table with three different leg lengths ... but just make the desired length and you're done ..... my daughter is now 30 years old and certain things are forgotten. at the end of the video the girl made me understand that I am getting old and what the oval hole on the top was for. When it was my daughter's moment the low table I did it too, but not with the "adjustable" feet only the short ones!
The way you made the sander out of paint can is a real take away for me. For me, more that the end result, i like to the learn the skill and I am happy your video offer that a lot
Your projects are amazing. I have been redoing a camper trailer on a budget with a jigsaw and skillsaw. I think it has become a patchwork project with many errors. I still love it and think I will name it Patchwork. Thanks
Again a beautiful fun furniture.Lots of glowing in cold weather..not easy.Love the high ajustable legs.Wonder if I could come up with one pair of legs that do the work of the three...still thinking...would have loved to see how you did the little table and chair. To make miniatures is so much fun.Congrats!!!
Looks great! Some of those veritcal table saw cuts look pretty difficult. Great job! Also your filming and editing are great in this video I like the use of colored tape descriptions and lock down shots. Great music too
@Laura Just as I was thinking "Why 3 sets of legs, but bolted in. Won't that be inconvenient to swap?" Then I saw it was a kids table. The resulting audible "Awww" felt nice :) Also
Super sweet build. I’m sure it will be used and loved for many years to come. ❤️ It’s fun to make for little ones knowing it will probably be past down.
Well done Laura! I think your little tester likes it too. The face drawn on the edge was cute! (I wish we could plywood that nice somewhere around by me. Even our expensive isn't that good.)
A clever idea that feels like it came straight from your heart. Beautiful. Also, the Festool brad point bits really up the accuracy, and the trim router turn it from a hobby to a professional project. Weet-woo, girl.
Laura when you film, do you plan your shots beforehand or for what works best as you build? Like your shot at 1:00, most people would probably use one shot. But yours tells so much more of the story. 👌
That child has good taste in crayons 🖍!! There the ones we use everyday in our house. You can use them as normal crayons on paper, or on glass, or as paint. Can see why she hired you to make a desk for her!! Great idea to have it adjustable. I keep having to make bigger furniture for mine as, and someone should warn you about this, kids keep growing 😂😂😂😂
I'm glad it's not just me that suffers from this. My jigsaw blade couldn't stay vertical if its life depended on it! Nice that you brought some snacks in for the hound at the end there.
OK, that was a cute build, a cute dog, and a cute kid! Although I had trouble following you at 3:05 as I didn't know if you were coming or going.... Oh, you're cute too. Don't want you to feel left out of your own cuteness video!
Am wondering if there was a way to integrate/hide the longer legs somewhere inside the table rather than storing them in an attic until needed? Jus' thinkin...
Nice job, great idea. Just a quick tip: If you get a piece of padding that goes under carpet, you can put it under the piece of wood that you are using your router on and it will stop the piece from moving while you work on it.
Yeah endlich wieder Kampftach! ;P Spaass! Hammer coole idee. Daran hatte ich nie gedacht. Aber weisst was auch cool is an solchen tischen? Die werden oft weitergegeben. War bei meinen oft so. Denke deiner macht nen paar genarationen durch! :) Schönes WE euch!

I really like the miniature setup for the doll. Very cute.

i work with birch plywood most days, but i never thought of making legs for a table like that, so simple and works so well :)
And this is why I am a patron! If you all didn't know Laura has a Patreon, and you should all go and be a part of it.
Thanks mate!

That is some precise wood joinery when some paint makes it not fit! And such a good idea to make the table grow with the girl!
I have thought the exact same thing. She's incredible!
I loved the video! Quality, notes, speed, music ... Well done.
Great idea! Those joints look really solid.
Your camera work, edit, and music are very nicely done, once again. Love it all!
I absolutely Loved the shot on the table saw moving with the piece. I've also always enjoyed the writing on tape to explain whats being built.
Laura Kampf, buildutainment at its best, such a joy to watch!
I love these videos with no talking. I like the talking ones, too, but it's so relaxing just being able to watch something being beautifully made.
This is such a sweet, kind and clever thing to do. That kid has the opportunity to take that table into adulthood if they so desire.

You’re dog is one of my favorite parts about these videos! So cute!
brilliant idea and completion. Love the colours.
Very nice table! Your friends daughter should be able to pass this on to hear daughter, many years from now. :)
Always good when the end users just uses it & smiles as they do. Thanks for sharing!
Laura, don't tell anybody but I like your build videos the best... 😊
😊
The "grow along with the kid" is a great idea!

I have a couple more tips like that on my insta if you are interested
Hi Laura
Du hast dich wieder selbst übertroffen !
Hammer Projekt 👍👍😁
Vielen Dank!
Very nice build. It looks like you made someone very happy. Keep on doing what you are doing.
Your projects are amazing. I have been redoing a camper trailer on a budget with a jigsaw and skillsaw. I think it has become a patchwork project with many errors. I still love it and think I will name it Patchwork. Thanks

This turned out great! She’ll love it.
Ment gluing not glowing..Ooops
Looks great! Some of those veritcal table saw cuts look pretty difficult. Great job! Also your filming and editing are great in this video
I like the use of colored tape descriptions and lock down shots. Great music too
You make wonderful things and wonderful videos, Laura.
Great job Laura!!
duuuuuuude. this was definitely worth the wait, it came up awesome! i really love that i can grow with the kid, too.
Thanks!
That is really cool how it will grow as the child grows. 👍👍
@Laura Just as I was thinking "Why 3 sets of legs, but bolted in. Won't that be inconvenient to swap?"
Then I saw it was a kids table. The resulting audible "Awww" felt nice :) Also
Very cool idea making the replacement legs right along with the build. Good design!
Absolutely love your sandpaper dispensing system!
Nice simple design. I think I will make the same for my daughter's electric keyboard.
I absolutely loved this
wunderschön und clevere lösung. danke laura fürs zeigen!
Danke fürs schauen ;)
you made a girl very happy, nice job and smart that it can grow with her.
What a great build! I love the concept that the table grows with the child.
Thanks!
Nice build-very thoughtful too!
You made someone very happy! Great video!
Am I more impressed by the woodworking or the production and editing? Either way, skills.
Super sweet build. I’m sure it will be used and loved for many years to come. ❤️ It’s fun to make for little ones knowing it will probably be past down.
These videos of yours are so relaxing. Great work and great videos. Well done 👏🏼
Well done Laura!
I think your little tester likes it too.
The face drawn on the edge was cute!
(I wish we could plywood that nice somewhere around by me. Even our expensive isn't that good.)
Awesome work turned out pretty cool awesome Idea for a kids room / homework place
Toller einfacher Tisch!
Very nice, might try a similar one but for art table, this video was so nice and relaxing, awesomeness !
A clever idea that feels like it came straight from your heart. Beautiful. Also, the Festool brad point bits really up the accuracy, and the trim router turn it from a hobby to a professional project. Weet-woo, girl.
Weet woo!!
A mini version of your adjustable shop table would be awesome too!
Such a great video! Great build Laura!
Awesome work Laura! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
What a nice and simple design
Practical, attractive and Smudo approved. 😊👍
A desk for life.
😊
Laura when you film, do you plan your shots beforehand or for what works best as you build?
Like your shot at 1:00, most people would probably use one shot. But yours tells so much more of the story.
👌
The more I watch, the more I admire your work, I made a wooden top and the video was nearly 10 min long. :)
Beautifully done Laura😊
😊
Please show the finished product at the beginning, so that we can understand what you're making while you're making it.
Hi, Laura!
This thing is neat! And I love your Pferd sanding solution.
Regards,
Etna.
Yes, simple but very effictive!
Thanks for the video Laura.
I love this table!
Such a sweet project and video. Well done Laura.
I love your creations Laura, thanks for sharing!
Beautiful and simple.
Very cool Idea Laura! Thanks for sharing. 😎🍻👍👍
Like the video style with the tape.. easy to follow well presented
Love your work.
Great way to join the legs. The dolly had a small table also 😊👍
Danke!
Any chance of you sharing the plans?
Waaw! I love the clever pink pencil tray.
Great film. Has the "Laura" feel to it. : ) Awesome table so creative. Lasting design. Mahalo for sharing! : )
I like the editing on this one. Nice table, too.
What a great build and having the small one for her doll is amazing. I guess the only one who was disappointed was Smudo, he lost his mini stage.
Love the way you edit your videos 👍🏻
Thanks!
Great project and video. Thanks for sharing. Your an inspiration.
Am wondering if there was a way to integrate/hide the longer legs somewhere inside the table rather than storing them in an attic until needed? Jus' thinkin...
Looks like a bigger version of the doll's desk at 7:27. Nice touch!
Yes, I made that so she has a matching desk with her doll
Cool design! Smudo loved it too.
Te adoro, Laurinha ! Você alegra nossos domingos !
Oh it's so cute) very nice table)
Hay Smudo: what did you find in the pit under the shop floor?
Mice!!!
@@laurakampf Good dog!
Nice job, great idea. Just a quick tip: If you get a piece of padding that goes under carpet, you can put it under the piece of wood that you are using your router on and it will stop the piece from moving while you work on it.
Cool trick to use the paint can as a sander 😉
How did I miss this video?
Bad UA-cam...
Table came out good...
You should make your own long board skateboards next...
Yeah endlich wieder Kampftach! ;P Spaass! Hammer coole idee. Ich hoffe!
Nice, simple design with a cool story.
Danke Axel!
fand ich auch klasse!
