I said this a few videos ago but you look amazing. I kept thinking what foundation is that, what is she doing different....now I realize it is that pregnancy glow!! You look like an angel!

i'm brand new to emily's beauty broadcasts, and OMG, i love them!!! first i discovered some nyx products, and then a few days later, serendipity! i stumble upon emily!
so my actual comment is, being a brand-newcomer, have i missed a tutorial where you, emily, take your face from ground zero [rolling out of bed], to, say, the look you have above? if so, where on youtube could i find it? also, have you done one exclusively for your eyes? they are ALWAYS SPECTACULAR, and i'd love to see all the steps that get u there.

I own a few of those Almay eyeshadow singles too, and I agree with you that they're really sheer, except for the darker blue one is beautiful. The pigmentation on that one is really nice and there's no fallout or anything like that.
Could you please do a brand review of the Ulta make up line? I'm always apprehensive to buy their products. Thank you for always doing such honest unbiased reviews!!

I'd love to see a tutorial on this eye look! I have this palette too and haven't used it yet. I'm not sure how to do an all matte look without it looking too flat on the eyes. And your eyes look stunning here.

Thanks for the heads up on the Too Faced BB cream stuff, I've been seeing it on HSN in a pretty nice bundle. But they are marketing it as a buildable coverage foundation. If anyone is still interested though HSN is best to try it, you can return it empty even, if you don't like it.

aw thanks! I'd do them more, but sometimes I'm more likely to just find something to be not-so-good or average (lots of things in that category) as opposed to an all-out fail. So I always think hard before I want to label something a fail! :)
So right about the cover girl clean foundation.. Used it once and it was so unnatural looking on my skin!! never again ! This makeup look is amazing!

I really love the Clean foundation.. The powder from that line, though, gave me about 15 new zits every time I wore it!
Glad to hear a review on the Too Faced bb cream...I had been wondering if it was really full coverage or not. I hated the Ulta concealer too. I thought maybe I just got a bad tube but even when I cut the tip off, I hated the formula of the product.
I'm always glad to see videos about things to avoid. Makeup is too expensive to buy something that you are just going to toss or leave in a drawer!

I used to love the Clean makeup by Cover Girl and just thought I had bad skin/acne. It was the cause of my breakouts...beware!!
I now use L'oreal foundations and love them.

Totally agree about the almay single shadows, hugely dissatisfied!!!!! A sparkle explosion mess with no pigmentation whatsoever!!!! thank heavens i only bought one!! Nothing creamy about it.

I have the covergirl clean foundation too and it smells horrible. I purchased the 3-in-1 and I love that one so much better.

I love the almay shadow softies specifically because ofbthe sheer wash of color. I use them on my lazy 5 minute make-up days. They're definitely not for someone who likes bold make-up

I've heard a lot of people say similar things about the Almay shadows! It's too bad because it looks like they have some pretty shades!
I can only wear one foundations so far from Covergirl, cause they always made me breakout something fierce!! So I can totally relate to the breakout. I have come to love some sally beauty items for cosmetics. Great video and so true what might work for one, might not work for the other. xox
Love this video I use the covergirl clean foundation and it's my holy grail the only difference is I use the one with the green cap that is made for sensitive skin! :)
Thanks for the reviews! I can understand the Almay disappointment... Last spring I got a trio for brown eyes from Almay and it was so bad I threw it away! I won't even try them again.

hey Emily, can you do a video on Z pallettes and the best way to take lipstick in a tube and put in the magnetic pans? I think this would save space and interested.
I am such a fan of Almay, so I was also SUPER disappointed with the Shadow Softies. I have the Petal one and could barely even see it on my eyelid.
I don't care for Covergirl clean foundation and I'm allergic to Rimmel London. The other stuff I haven't tried. Thanks for the review.

I have the orange and dark brown and I actually really enjoy them! The orange used as a transition or light crease blending shade has worked really well with my skin tone! But the lighter colors are junk, I completely agree with Emily, noooo pigmentation at all!

I'm glad you mentioned the Revlon e/s singles b/c I was really disappointed by the weak cover as well. The price and hype just don't add up to the low quality. Thought I was the only one glad I'm not. Thank you.

I used to wear this cover girl foundation when I was 13! back in hm let's say the 60's. It was a good product then.

I 100% agree with all of these fails! That Covergirl foundation is the worst, there's nothing "Clean" about it, haha!

I have a revlon single in a lilac color and I love it. It is the only one I own so maybe the other colors have bad pigmentation. O well. I love my lilac.
The Covergirl clean foundation didn't work for me at all either. I've had mine for a while after my friend recommended it and as soon as I stopped using it my skin cleared up! It sucks.

Great video. It's just as important to know what not to buy as it is to know what to buy. I had a couple of fails this week because I tried a couple of products without looking for reviews.

Great info thank you... Another disappointment for me regarding eyeshadows are the NYX nude matte shadow singles. I purchased a bunch of them and returned them. Was really hoping that they were going to be great because it's so hard to find matte eyeshadows at the drugstore and because the other line of NYX eyeshadows are pretty good. For me they seemed too soft and blended into one color. Have you tried them? If so, what are your thoughts?
i recently had the same issue with the almay eyeshadow. they were painfully terrible.

could possibly try using the disposable wand applicators for the mascara... and never use the one that comes with the tube... that way you get a brand new application every time... just a thought :) and the disposables are at Sally's for around $3 i think ....
Couldn't agree more about the Revlon and Almay eye shadows. They were such a waste of money.
I like the Revlon singles, but definitely didn't care for the Almay eye shadows in this video. I'm going to try the Sally ones too. Thanks for the recommendation.

Hey Emily, I heard about that Too Faced Lash system but I heard that for the final step you are supposed to use another mascara to coat your lashes. Maybe a cheap mascara so that one will end up with all the fibers instead of the too faced one. Just a thought!! :)
that's a good idea! However the actual system as it's sold by Too Faced says to use their mascara for step 1 & 3. Another thought I had was to use a disposable wand for the last coat.

Also, my trick for too face's better than falsies is to use eye drops. The solution thins out the clumps made by the fibers.

Great video! Now you can toss that horrible lipstick. So disappointing when something isn't what you expect it to be. But so fantastic when something exceeds your expectations. Have you tried the new Maybelline quads from the spring collection? Really nice. I even managed to snag a few of the new color tattoos before the were gone from my Walgreens. Felt like I won the lottery. Have a great weekend.
Exactly! The trial & error element to makeup has always been fun for me :) That's great that you spotted the spring collection! I saw some remnants in my Walgreens... there was 1 color tattoo left, but it wasn't one of the new ones. I'll keep looking, of course! ;)

The caramel cool is gorgeous. If you got it, try it with elf's baked eyeshadow in burnt plum over it it the outer v and crease. I can't believe how good it looks.

Leslie Woolf I did see it! The outer v is the outermost corner of your eyelid farthest away from your nose. Think of a sideways v shape from your lash line to your crease or a little above. If you Google "outer V" you should get some pics that show it better than I can explain it....lol. Hope this helps and have a great night!
