Backcountry Skiing // How to Spring Ski in the Backcountry

- Have you ever wondered what it takes to backcountry ski in spring? Have you ever wondered if it might be for you? Well this video is here to excite, inform and confuse you. Today is April 5th and over the past couple days it’s snowed 3 feet and it is currently still snowing outside. However, spring skiing is in the air. You can literally smell it whenever the sun briefly makes an appearance. With spring hopefully comes spring skiing. Spring skiing in the backcountry is warmer, lighter, and faster moving. It can also be dangerous and sometimes frustrating when you find yourself sitting on a chilly summit waiting for the sun to come out and soften up the snow.

I saw a cartoon Blake. Until we see him again...
OH my gosh Danny! That's a really high effort video. Can't believe you found the time to put that together considering the storm cycle we've been in!
haha the ski community needs videos like this, nice one mate keep it up!
These videos are a great mix up, always giving me a good laugh alongside some helpful information. Not that you asked but if you're looking for a video idea it could be fun to see a compilation of B-roll from all the local Utah skiing you've done this winter.
Corn is KING. But let's keep it on the downlow. So many folks hang up the skis and boards prematurely, and we like it that way!
getting crafty with the production. love it
Never thought I would say it but… I’m pow’d out this winter. I want warm afternoon corn days skiing some really steep and scary lines 😂
"Some people say that corn is better than powder. And, while those people are totally wrong..." I nearly choked.
0:05 there is a actual term for this called the Post Adventure Blues (I learned a lil bit about this during my time in uni)
This was awesome! Appreciate the time spent editing
Super well done!!!
This is brilliant.
What an edit! You sir are very creative and I agree wholeheartedly!
Love your videos!

This is fantastic. Well done!
Thanks! Super fun and educative video :D
Hahaha yes. If winter will ever end!
Even their videos are extra professional art! GREATER THAN GREAT!
Thank you! One of the most entertaining videos I’ve seen in a while I literally laughed out loud. Definitely need a new blower dealer!
Excellent!
Awesome video.
NICE -- Love it
Loved this! Awesome video! Is the hiking version next? I certainly hope so!
I love and miss your videos! I hope you’ve been well and are thriving.
Going out to rip my first spring corn backcountry line on Sunday, super stoked.
Hot damn i didn't even know about this extra channel! Superb work!
Yes. Have done all the above. Earned turns all year 199. Fun video. Well done.
Killing it dude.
hahaha A+ editing guys loved it!
HAHA this is your best video by miles... great work
Made my day
Once the cold powder goes away there is always mountain biking. :) sorry Danny I had to. Shout out to Cristof!!
So super rad, indeed!
Very neat production Danny..Is there a new adventure posting soon on MA?
Haha! Matt didn't make the "best friends" head crash... :D ? Was wondering where he gone. Great to see Blake there! Great vid! Lots of fun. Thanks!
Quick, let's over-analyze it and jump to huge conclusions!
So good 😂😂😂😂
Brilliant and scientifically accurate!
This is amazing haha
very helpful for explaining my corn addiction to friends
The commentary is gold
Another great video guys. I am on the market for sharp and pointy things. I see that the Petzl Ride ice axe is the reference in the MA squad. What about crampons? Full alloy or hybrid steel front and alloy back (sturdier on rocks)? I have my eyes on the Dynafit Mezzalama hybrid crampons which have a cable, not a dyneema cord or strap (my dislike on Petzl Irvis). Any comment on that or other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Best video I've ever seen! Almost fell out of my chair laughing.
"White smoke junkies" 😝😝🤣🤣😂😂😂
Ok. I think powder withdrawal syndrome...
Right, gotta have an s. Pws... right?

The budget for stock footage is crazy
This might be the best extra mediocre video yet!

Together well find a cure
Nothing says ‘Spring’ like baked corn…
Whatever. I can quit whenever I feel like it, jeez.
Lol this is so money.
