Stomp It Tutorials are some of (if not the) best ski videos on UA-cam. Great teaching. Jens is a great personality and the editing is excellent 👏 Thanks to everyone at SIT ✌🏼
Holy cow I was planning on trying to learn proper switch skiing because of your tutorials. After seeing him struggle there I’m kinda nervous how difficult this might be
Thanks so much Jens, currently working on these exact things now! I love your personality and stoke in all your videos, totally contagious and puts a smile on my face to see how much you enjoy this! Been watching many of your videos and have been using them to work on the basics over here in Colorado (Beaver Creek and Vail), I wish I could make it out there for a freestyle camp - maybe someday I can travel out there, would be totally worth it! If you are ever around in Colorado, would love to learn from you!
Hey Stomp It Tutorials, I did ski and enjoy this winter already, I can ski descend but sometimes te slopes are wobly can you help me out in your next video?
That used to be the case so I just learned to spin left (unnatural) instead of learning to look over the other shoulder. Silly. Practise both its important. Now I can ski looking over any shoulder it just takes some time to get used to.
I can’t ski switch but ik what u mean i ski on one ski cuz it’s fun and I can’t do my right, and how did u learn cuz I can do pretty difficult tricks I feel I should be able to ski switch by now
When I first learned skiing switch I used smaller skis, that helped a lot because I got caught a lot on the edges on my normal skis. That first slope where they started to practice actually looked quite intimidating to ski switch for the first time. That kid was a fast learner.
Love the videos as always. This one was especially good as it went more in depth on some of these basics. And question for you, what brand / model is your orange jacket you are wearing?
Great video Jens! Do you keep your boots loose anytime you're in the park? I'm a total noob but I feel like loosening my boots would help my pop a lot more. Jumping with tight boots seems to throw me off balance a bit. Thank you!
Great your bring it up. Once you learn to pop tiny side hits its good to have them open. The lack of movement in the boots often makes people move in ways they never would in their socks. When you learn to pop nice on simple side hits start tighning them a bit. When I ride the park hard I have the butter rather tight for maximum controll.
Finns så många saker jag vill lära mig. Åkt skidor i 23 år men kan inte släppa mentala spärren att hoppa och landa (med risken att ramla). Hur kommer man över det?
@@StompItTutorials I live in Zürich and come to Laax quite often (yesterday for example). Sometimes I take days off work to come to the park when it is not too busy. I am a solid skier with a racing background. I can do 180s, ski switch, but not look over only one shoulder and barely 50-50 boxes. I would be mainly interested in learning to spin more and playful skiing like butters, but open to learn any kind of freestyle.
I have trouble being backseated on drops sometimes when i drop of but mostly when I land just because the impact is so big sometimes I kinda absorb it by going back or even backstabbing, any tips? I'm also trying to do 360's but find myself not fully spinning or leaving my ski behind me more than I should. Currently working on skiing switch with my unnatural side but feel good and think I'm improving my form.
For the drops. First go jump lots and lots of jumps and try the 4 point landing. Land and flex the front of the boots down. When your used to that you probably will dare to land with a Stomp from drops too.
New subscriber to this channel! :) Question, I noticed that while watching this video, Jens when you ski (switch especially), your skis are not perfectly parallel, but rather one ski is more ahead of the other one. When you ski in general, should your skis be perfectly parallel and legs closer together?
Always strive for perfectly paralell skis. When I ski switch faster and carvingI can keep them very parallel but when skiing this slow its challenging to keep them parallel at all times :)
For 75 years skiers have yet to feel comfortable with nothing to do with their hands. I wonder when they will realize the ridiculousness of the pointy sticks stuck to their hands

@@StompItTutorialsalso a thank you from here, your videos make me even more hyped for skiholiday
Couldn't agree more! It's been fun learning new skills. :)
Awesome! I’m exactly in this guy’s position and currently learning 180s and switch skiing. Extremely helpful video :)
Glad you enjoyed it!

I skied USSA Freestyle years ago. Mogul specialist. Doing ballet I learned there are EIGHT edges, not just four.
Thank you again! The production keeps getting better every season!

Thank you Jon :) Id love to ski colorado some time. For now I will stay around the alps. Good luck to continue learning.
Thank you!! This is exactly what I need! Appreciate the amazing tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!
Monty had a great time and he's been practising since - thanks Jens. Looking forward to seeing video 2!
Awesome :) Im please he got the stoke for freestyle :D
Hello! Could you show us how to adjust the boots for freestyle?
Amazing 🤩
Got my first 180 yesterday 🎉
Amazing well done! How did it feel?
@@StompItTutorials very good, my landing needs to be cleaned up though
Can you describe how to do the revert back from switch to regular? Somehow I always catch an edge and feel awkward when trying to get forwards again
Keep the legs close together.
practice, repeat and rinse. and repeat.
Great instructional video! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great seeing his progress, good job persisting and thanks always for the tips :)
can you recommend twin tips for an intermediate skiier that wants to try tricks and jumps
Awesome! Just at the right time. Can't wait for the next video. I hope it comes soon? Like... Tomorrow ;-)
Not quite so soon. Sunday :)
Hey Stomp It Tutorials, I did ski and enjoy this winter already, I can ski descend but sometimes te slopes are wobly can you help me out in your next video?
Do you want to put your weight on the downhill ski when doing this like regular carving?
Hi there, Are you riding the Bent 90s there? thanks,
I find I can only ski switch looking left. Pretty good with it but looking over my right shoulder is like I've never skied switch before lol
That used to be the case so I just learned to spin left (unnatural) instead of learning to look over the other shoulder. Silly.
Practise both its important. Now I can ski looking over any shoulder it just takes some time to get used to.

I feel like I have to change which way I’m looking every turn 😂
Or maybe I’m just a noob…
Ya I'm more comfortable over my right but I've been practicing both and carving over both shoulders.
When I first learned skiing switch I used smaller skis, that helped a lot because I got caught a lot on the edges on my normal skis.

@@StompItTutorials Thanks for clarifying! Maybe ill sign up soon 👀
Jens, what position are your bindings mounted on your skis?
Hi can I practice these while using a all mountain ski? want to learn freestyle but I dont own a freestyle ski.
This might be a basic question but do you start switch or do you 180 into switch from the top of the slope
You can do it either way but starting switch is usually easier than 180ing into it
Beginner....has been skiing his entire life and used to race. lol...but I appreciate the videos.
a beginner in switch... I would not teach a skiing beginner to ride switch directly
Nice
Thank you!

Do you also offer private coaching like in the video? I actually wouldn't mind if it was filmed
Typically not. Do you live close? If yes then maybe for a future video depending on the level your at?

I don't see the video you reference i the end about his 180 & box slide.
This was meant to be all in one video but it got too long so I made two video. I will post the second on sunday.

I love your tutorials but the title is a beginner….. I hardly think an ex racer is a beginner.
