  • May marks the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The month represents a celebration of the important contributions of the #AAPI community to American history, society, and culture.
Asia Society Magazine is joined by historian Ellen Wu to talk about the pivotal moments in history that led to the creation of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month - from the Black Freedom Movement and the Asian American Movement of the 1970s and the proclamation of the first AAPI heritage celebration in May 1979.

dr. Bob Suzuki president of Cal Poly Pomona salary $115,000 a year! My father white engineer earned only $24,000 as a world war 2 veteran! He was a GI yet he told that he was too old to go to college after world war 2 in California!

what does your dad have to do with bob suzuki? MOST university president make well over 6 figures. that’s actually on the low end given his credentials and how much you need to make in california to be comfortable so it’s not even that much. why are you blaming a random ass asian american for that fact that the US has a long history of neglecting its veterans?? take it up with the american government! there are literal billionaires in this country but you’re crying over a barely 6 figure salary lol

This is complete nonsense. Please do a video about the attack on a Japanese school bus in Suzhou yesterday, 6/25/24. After that, please do a segment on how the well-intended American idea of an "AAPI community" is complete BS, and likely just more Chinese propaganda. Even within East Asia, the languages and cultures are quite different. When you include SE Asia and South Asia, it becomes more absurd. Adding Pacific Islanders into the mix, makes it beyond absurd.

    Americans are Asians.
Between 14 to 26 thousands years ago, North Asian + East Asian began to venture out to the North Pole and slowly (over hundreds of genrations) migrate to the America continent as the land bridge still exist back then.
They came down to Canada and the rest of the America continent. They scattered throughout the continent and settle down. They became the Native Americans.
This explain why Native Americans look like Asian
(or Asiatic looking). It is because they are Asians.
Over thousands of years adapting to the local climate, their facial feature changed slightly.
European invaders never been to East Asia, they only went so far as India, hence they called native Americans Indian.
White Euoprean invaders are the minority in the America continent.
This whole continent belongs to the native Americans with Asian ancestry.

we actually have more with ANE than with asians the asians we descend from died out. we are tall, long nosed, robust skull shapes, red skin, and etc. asians have flat faces, tiny noses, gracile skull shapes, and yellow skin. it may be that yall look like us because asian phenotype is only 7,000 years old while the red mans phenotype has been around for 45k+ years. so that means if any resemblance yall got it from the red man, not the other way around.

red indians are proto east eurasians while asias are neo east eurasians. so go to asia 10,000 years ago people in north east asia would look more americanoid type(joel huiqui) while south east asians would be more australoid/veddioid type. no record of asian looking people until 7,000 years ago. yall expand into south east asia 4,000 years ago and mix with the australoid/negritos to create south east asians and move north and wipe out the Americanoids but mixed with some of them like to create the Yenisei people. which would explain why they are the only non Americanoid who looks Americanoid. so negroids are the oldest being over 200,000 years old, Australoid being 60,000 to 80,000 years old, Americanoids being between 35,000 to 56,000 years old, Caucasoids being 8,000 to 10,000 years old, then mongoloids only being 6,000 to 7,000 years old. so we predate any Asian looking person but nice try.

      @@NDN451
The Asians with flat nose, small eyes and yellow skin are south East Asians. First wave migration were the North Asians, second waves were south East Asian. So many indigenous Mexicans looks exactly like south east Asians. There have to be a genetic link from the past.
There is a huge variation of looks within the Asian grouping. Some Asian nodes range from flat to high, eye size from big to small. Their skin colour range from black to chocoloate, to dark red, to chestnut, to light yellow and to white. The Native Americans that I have seen in photos look a lot like North Asian. Take a look at the Northern Chinese, the Mongolians, the Siberians, etc.
I have no data on the American red skin so I cannot comment on that.

@@misterhill5598 well south east asians are mix of australoid/negrito and east asians. the mix happened 3,000 years ago. amerindians on the other hand comes from a ANE population and even their "asian side" is a basal lineage that does not really exist in modern Asians. Amerindians formed 30k+ years ago. long before the neo mongoloid populations that we call Asians now.
