I eat lots of grits (ground up maize), steamed rice and oat meal. I add pickles, apples, or apple sauce, cinnamon, and steamed onions for taste. Not a vegan or vegetarian although basically I eat this way, the main reason I do not eat meat is that I do not agree with the way antibiotics and hormones are given to chicken and beef. I raise cattle and sell them but I do not give my cattle antibiotics or hormones and they do fine. I also like to cook cabbage with potatoes, onions and sauerkraut.
I was catching up on Sergey Blaklokov's videos and I saw you on his channel. I am switching to vegan, and I was excited to watch this video. You have a great channel and I am happy to subscribe.

The prices of produce in Russia seem very good. Here in the US, prices for good produce are very high. I just paid $14 (about 925 rubles) for four pounds (2 kg) of apples! Only because they were good, fresh, crisp apples.
Privet Tanya. :) Very good video. You know I appreciate all your videos. I wonder why Russians are not as tolerant to vegan people. Both vegan and vegitarian are, well....vegitarian. The difference between vegan and vegitarian basically is that vegans also do not eat dairy product normally. Both vegitarian and vegan prefer good quality food. I am neither and I prefer good quality food as well. Here in the US vegans are somewhat more tolerated although some people think they are weird. We have vegan restaraunts scattered around. Vegan is a trendy thing here in the US. We have farmer's markets here as well, but most are not that big with the same variety. However, the vegetables and fruits are usually organic and good quality. Not only that, but less expensive in some cases. There are vegitarian restaraunts in St Petersburg, Sergey even visited and filmed one, so I wonder why vegans are not as tolerated?
because an adequate vegetarian or vegan in Russia is almost an oxymoron many of them are basically just doing what they insult others about, that they are "carnivore" and annoy people greatly by declaring that all problems are in health due to eating meat very few of them do not condemn others and do not annoy others
@@DVXDemetrivs Yes, we still have that same problem here. Usually, it is the ones who get on TV or radio or ones who think they are doctors and the elitist types that cause the most trouble.

Я веган и я живу в Швеции. Здесь не трудно быть веган потому что у нас есть много разные варианты. У нас есть соевый фарш и соевое мясо и как далее... Но иногда дорогие))
Throughout history, Russia would have had no Russians who were vegan due to the land's Northern latitude and short growing season. The traditional diets and foods with meat were born out of necessity for survival, and they fed local communities reliably. Veganism is only possible now because of industrial food systems and transportation. I feel that if someone wants to eat vegan, that is their choice. But in America, too often they become overzealous and condemn non-vegans for eating meat and animal foods.
"Overzealous" is exactly the reason why Russians are intolerant to vegans, Russians are allergic to overzealous persons in general. In fact, modern vegan culture was borrowed directly from USA with all the negative traits. There's traditional vegetarian culture in Russia coming from religious background, as well as recently (90es) borrowed Krishnaism, and people are totally ok with this just because they keep their food preference to themselves.
