I love how Sarah is so mature, while her mom is the immature childish brat. She refuses to believe that there are better dancers than her daughter. I mean she’s eight years old, and she would probably be a lot better if Christy didn’t interfere and didn’t keep her mouth shut. She doesn’t learn to quit, and she’s honestly just being more childish than an actual child. She’s ruining Sarah’s chances at being a great dancer, and Abby is nice to Sarah, and she wants to see her grow as a dancer, and her mom just doesn’t learn to shut up, and when she doesn’t, she ruins her daughters dream. I also love how she doesn’t leave the moms alone, when they clearly hate her.

Her mother's overbearing control freak manipulative personality is the reason Sarah has such an unhealthy attachment to her mother. Her childhood and growing up experience will be very distressing because of her mum, which is evident from that scene; she's literally panicking in her crazy mum's absence. It's sad and tragic, not bratty.

But Sarah does seem to lack independent, unlike the other girls. They may have used to it already though, but I do believe that Christi haven't really been doing a justice for over protecting that child or she wouldn't have been freaking out over the seat of a bus. Especially when her mother was on that bus, just not right by her side.
I remember some episode where Abby tried to get Sarah with them to competition, but without her mother on the bus and Christi absolutely declined, so Sarah didn't attend.

@@userone1920 Yeah, that’s also a thing. Even though the moms stood up for Mellisa and Maddie, it was still sort of rude the way they did it. To be honest, Christy wasn’t so nice either, but I can’t really choose a side. :)
