This is a debated question🙂 no doubt in upcoming years we will be using electric vehicles for sure.. This will not be going as easy as we say 15years or more.. It will take a lot of time to stabilize with proper charging infrastructure.. Even though here is electricity in the remotest places or villages but is there adequate charging stations? Not sure.. And moreover the Oil Giants will not allow to see a dip or fall in the market share that easily.. If you travel on highways or remote villages more frequently then opting a petrol car is wise i feel. Suppose you use it more often in city limits then you can go for the EVs.. Keep the budget and consequences in mind. Or just buy a Used Car (petrol) and save money. use it for a couple of years until we see a stabilized platform for EVs.. Later decide accordingly about switching on EVs.. Hope it helps.

If you are from karnataka, and your car is in running conditions.. It is not considered scrap even if it is above 15 years, unless you want to scrap it voluntarily.. Which is definitely not the right idea. Instead you can sell it for a better price.
which car? but suggest you to wait for few more months..even you sell your car at decent price, that can be useful for down-payment or it will help in adding up some cash for your new car purchase..

Yes you can.. but you have to wait until the ATS (AUTOMATED TESTING STATION) is fully operational.. "upon declaring the certificate" you receive incentives when you scrap the old car. * you may get some discount of 4-6% on new vehicle cost (ex showroom). * Registration charges for new vehicle is waived. * There can be a concession up to 25% for non-transport vehicle and 15% for transport vehicles on Road tax. how many owners? how many kilometers driven? do u have complete service history..im not or not aware that the FC is available till 2036..usually FC is renewed for 5 years..in your case it looks different..pls check properly and buy sir..
It is basically pollution tax.. IMO Govt is discouraging people to stop using vehicles more than 20years old, and trying to make them buy electric vehicles or hybrid variants. Hence, scissoring one or the other way. Not sure how it is used, maybe it is used to protect the govt projects related to the environment..

As per the law one can apply for renewal of FC or RC not more than 60 days before the validity ends sir..

As per govt rules after 15years, private vehicles can be re-registered as long as it is considered road worthy by the department..
