Great music
The year was 1977. We were having a nice session at All Nation club in London.
I then heard the tune “ see them a come “
I went straight to the Dj to ask of the record and artist. I was told it’s culture and that the record is a “ pre-release “ I went to Brixton market on Saturday morning and purchased the “pre-release “ of course an exorbitant price, but it was worth it.
Then came the 1977 tour of uk at the famous rainbow theatre somewhere in north london, I think Finsbury park
I gig still remember after 43 years
Joseph Hill in his military outfit being backed by the two brothers and tight session band from Jamaica . I got hooked that night and I am still in that trance
Those were the days when musicians had to really know what they were about
My grandkids even enjoy Culture music when ever I play it out
Looking for them beautiful days
Cultuur is de best international

Culture never dies
Respect and love to you" Culture " for ferrying some of us through the rough-high seas of a dastardly, henious, and senseless war in our country Sierra Leone. Your songs were so aptly relatable and relevant to our situation. Songs like " Peace, Love, and harmony" ." IT's a revolution time", U never gonna get away". "Stop this fussing and fighting" ." Don,t cry sufferers" etc. We learnt those songs by heart and Word for word, most times singing them as we trekked from town to town, district to district, trying to escape the rebel onslaught. Now here in New Jersey, USA, every single time i hear or listen to these songs, i travel back in time, reminisencing places, people, and instances that i will or may never physically see again, yet in my mind's eyes, iam there. You guys are an indelible mark on the history of my life and so many others of our generation. So i say rest in peace( power) brother Joseph Hills, may God receive you in his bossom. As for the rest of your band and Kenyatta Hills, i wish u well and Jah bless.

To me hills is still alive as long as his music lives. Was first introduced to culture through in 1996 to culture one stone. Did know that he had a number of albums produced before that time. Culture you are the best. When I mediate upon your songs and how a black man was abused doing slavery, I shed bitter painful tears from my eyes. Indeed there will be a reward in Zion when will experience a new dawn. Rocking from chinsali Zambia
Good music for all reggae lovers
Still a hit 34yrs later🔥
The cornerstone of roots rock reggae.
I remember playing this album in 2002 up in Okavango Delta with my workmate Sydney Mandidewa! What trip we had in the wilderness watching kings of the jungle.
I remember the reggae sunsplash 1989 in Zimbabwe
Living legend you are inspiration is true
'Legend'? Culture was a band, not a solo artist.
Two sevens Clash is my all time favorite album. It sounds so fresh every time I hear it. I think it is because I can't fathom the beauty of Culture's vocal harmonies. Saying that, this album contains one of my favorite songs "Don't Cry Sufferer". With that in mind, I think the weaker tracks on this album come first. Joseph Hill is the best teacher I have ever had. Pure Class, deep wisdom, fearless , with a great sense of humor. Love hearing his deep laughter from the heart. R.I.P. and thank you.
Be carefully of what's you do, cause the eyes of JEHOVA is watching you. You never gonna get a way.
Message,Teachings ,Sweetness all in one🎵🎵 The album hotter than fire..
