CSX Railroad Switching, Crossing Railroad Diamonds Both Ways, Florida Trains In Plant City Florida

- CSX local switcher crosses a railroad diamond and then switches a customer at a railroad crossing in Plant City, Florida. After getting 3 boxcars the train reverses around the diamond. The train passes over the diamond again on the other CSX line and heads toward Tampa, Florida. Notice that the caboose is gone from the Plant City local. Instead of using a caboose for the long reverse moves around Plant City, the CSX crews simply ride on the end of a freight car. The caboose use to pass through here everyday until they finally left it in the yard and started riding on freight cars. The train crossed the diamond on the "S Line" going north in the first scene. After picking up 3 boxcars it reversed over to the "A Line" and then headed west toward Tampa. I was riding while Millenniumforce was driving. He got a little excited when he drove over the crossing and the gates hadn't activated yet while the train was approaching. It was a nice warm sunny day in Florida which was pretty nice considering how cold it was back in Ohio. I go to Florida every winter to film trains and get out of the ice and snow for a while. @@goodoldbubba6620 Yep, you've got heat, humidity, insects, alligators and whatnot as far as living in Florida goes. Florida's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Another great video you had in reserve. It looks like there is some good railfanning spots down in Plant City. I am going to have to take a run down there some day. Norfie is such a trip. She is a really wonderful cat. Great train and pet action, son! I live in The Villages not too much more than an hour north of the Plant City/Lakeland area. Today on Sunday 12/19, the high temp is going to be in the mid-80s.

Always more fun to 🎥 when your fingers aren't frozen and the snow isn't over your knees. A long push hanging onto a freight car is no treat esp in bad weather. Even though the reefer has a good place to stand you get the smoke and noise. Norfie's sausage should come from New London WI and its where a CNW and GBW line met. Later WC now CN and soon to be a disconnected shortline. Alas the sausage gets trucked out and a plastics plant is the big customer on town along with a prefab home builder

If you want a change of scenery, come to Reading Pennsylvania and chase some trains over here. It’s active a lot during the day since the Reading Railroad was a huge deal back in the day. We have the Reading& Northern and Northfolk Southern lines galore up here!

Plant City used go there allot in 18 wheeler nice place if not mistaken can go up in tower may be wrong been long time since 1995

I've been to Plant City, Ruskin, Sun City Center and a few other places in Fla.!
I have been to the Plant City observation a few times. Never saw a single train. My timing was off.

Very cool! That is my favourite area in Florida. My friend lives there in Dover. Tampa has a street running train but it is very hard to catch. I have filmed it once but I hope to get it again this year

#6526 is looking mighty good considering it's now 50 years old, I can't help but wonder just how many of it's original parts from the day it left the factory that it's still got...
I noticed it's a GP40-3 not -2, so it's definitely a rebuild.
@@chrism7894 Yes you are correct, it is now a GP40-3, it originally started life when new as a GP40.. But from what I've been able to tell from what little information seems to be out there when I looked in to it a while back, a lot of the dash 2's & 3's just had electrical equipment & inside the cab upgrades, unless you know any different??

Wonderful video catching that switching job in P.C. Nice looking GP40-3. Watching switching can be (but isn't always) very interesting. This one is especially interesting to me as I was born and raised 10 miles from there in Lakeland.

@@JawTooth Hello Ambassador, before you head south can you run over to East Columbus and get a catch on the Columbus & Ohio River Railroad, I want to believe its a sister Rail to the CCE RR that you’ve made all of us familiar with and appreciate, and while your there can you do some filming of the East Terminal Railroad that interchanges with ETRR along with an update on their operations, they have an awesome 50 ton GE that I’m hoping you can see in operation, google maps show the small right of way has undergone a major upgrade, thanks buddy……ms
