Thank you for sharing this ❤ I been trying to figure out how to weave a gradient in my current tapestry project. I think I need to buy more yarn with the same color but different value. Very helpful
I really like how the various shades of color blended together. I'm new to embroidery/needlepoint, and have a shading class next weekend. This helped in showing how to set up various shades. Very awesome!! One day, I will be cool and join the tapestry world. 😉
I noticed that you tap down with your finger/nail..... is there a reason why you do not use a tampering down fork or tool of some sort verses your finger? where I am new, I watch lots of videos. Some ppl tamper down super hard and tight, some don't. Does the weave slide back up the warp if you do not tamper down hard enough? Is it based on what fibre you use for the weft? what would be the reason for the tampering down method and forcefulness? thx
I just like to use my finger to tap down one way, and use my bobbin to tap the other way. Just do what makes you feel good! Mine are beaten down pretty hard, as I like my tapestries to be stiff 😁
Hello, ive been interested in tapastry and wabted a rec on looms to buy. I wanted to make clothes like sweaters, but i dont have a lot of space in my apartment. Any recs for looms and beginners materials. Thanks ahead!
Hey, if you want to make clothes, then tapestry is not for you! Maybe start off with a rigid heddle loom? Fabric weaving and tapestry weaving are different.

Yay, so glad it helped!! You don't need very many tones to create this affect 😉

Mayve machine knitting (not sure of this an American phrasing or not) . There is a shop by me that has amazing sweaters. It's worth looking into.
Definitely! Good luck 😁
