The song takes place in what it seems to be an apocalyptic world seeing as in the video, the main room where they reside in have a large gapping hole. While the origins of NEAR haven't been explicitly stated, she could potentially be created by a kind man who seemed to be a researcher. At the start of the song the man asked (from what I can vaguely describe) if the sins and mistakes the self-proclaimed 'foolish' man could be forgiven, which NEAR replied with a typical robot answer that "such concerns come in the way of calculations.". At the bottom right of the video lays the number of "asked from master" and "reply to master" which reaches up to 970,000+ to the very end and with that answer, there's a one number difference. As time time passes, NEAR develops emotions and feelings and sees the man as a father figure. At the end of the song after 25 years, the man fell ill. Throughout the video it has evidences that the man was pushing his limits and was only alive of what seemed to be drugs. It may be because he ran out of it or that his body could no longer take it. As he lay in bed with NEAR by his side crying, he gave her the same questions that he did before NEAR developed emotions, which NEAR answered at 2:59 of this MMD. If you have played Honkai you will definitely know that Mihoyo will not go down the rainbows and sunshine route. Some characters will definitely die/be disabled or go in a state of coma. Especially considering the fact that Honkai and Genshin are connected.

yo omg the ending with lumine's melancholic(?) expression just gave me an au idea where everything that happens to them in teyvat keeps repeating (abyssal princess lumine n traveler aether) n like this is where they finally meet eo so lumine asked aether to dance with him but lumine knows something bad is gonna happen to aether (ie. see his brother get k!lled or something worse) because . lumine knows she had made a bad choice and knowing that, she recalls how much she saw her brother suffer only for it to repeat again and again.
