I just wanted to give a shout out to 1a auto for all of the great work that they're doing. Its tutorials like these that will help educate America sufficient to remove the dependency.
Thank you for this informative video. I was afraid I would need to remove the steering wheel on my '85 Suburban - you've saved me a lot of time and effort.
@Bigjcomeon There would be an issue with the switch, or if the headlight bulbs were replaced you may want to make sure that the correct ones were installed, as that could also create this type of situation. Hope this helps you out.
@jbrockett1 I would test the socket that the light plugs into to see it it's a bulb issue or possibly a bad socket. If the socket isn't blinking, also test the wire going to it to see if there's power in the wire. if there is and there's no power in the socket, you may have a bad socket. Also check all of the bulbs front and rear to see if any are burnt out.
@jbrockett1 You may want to test the turn signal by putting it on and then testing the socket to see if it has power going to it. I would also check the fuses to see if you have a blown fuse.
Hey Mike, I am having a tough time getting the wire to the cruise control getting FISHED up the steering column. I connected it to a ~ 12 gauge wire via taping around the wire. I also greased it with Vaseline. The connector seems to be where it is getting hung up at. Any ideas for success? Thanks,

I swapped out the stalk with no problem. But now when I "pull" the high-beam, I get no "click" that would normally actuate high/low beams. All I did was insert it normally, same as you. But no high/low beam "click". Not finding where I can fix this...
6 months ago i installed a new cruise switch. lately turning the wpers on and off has been difficult to twist, and today the wipers are stuck on and although i can twist the switch arm, they stay on. is it possible the new switch is faulty, (i notice the switch metal arm plugs into the steering column), or do you think my porblem would actually be the wiper switch mechanism inside the steering column ? (which really looks like a pain to get at. ) thanks for your help. 1990 k1500 chevy 4x4
This looks like the same exact lever as my 1993 Buick Century. Will that lever also work with my car along with cruise control? The website does not have it as a compatible car. The wiring also looks the same

Awesome ! I have a problem with mine, the wipers only work on 'high speed' mode, the low and intermitent ones are dead. could it be the switch? or Should I look into something else? like fuses, etc... thanx
I ordered a new lever for my 1994 Lumina 4 door sedan but unable to remove the old lever from the connection. I have the steering column torn apart. So I'm not sure if you can order the circular round piece with the wiring and the lever itself as one piece and replace it that way?
The transmission fluid in it is black and burnt looking but it is running really good still, am i gona need to get the transmission fixed or just replace the transmission fluid?
I just received this lever from you guys 1AZCC00002. the chrome "push " lever does not seem to have any "Clicking" or set into the black part with the lettering. Is it supposed to be loose and separate ? The chrome part is not "connected" to the black part, there is no tactile sense of shifting between hi/lo/intermittent/mist. I think I got a defective part?
I have a 92 Cadillac Deville, on the exterior, it looks simular to this, will this stalk work on a Cadillac? It has cruise, wipers, turn signal functions on it. It does say Buick though on here. I know there is some commonality with most GM divisions.

If you have a test light, test the wire going to the sockets to see if there's power to the sockets when you step on the brake.
You're welcome. Have a great day. Thanks for watching out video.
You may want to check the brake light switch to see if it's working correctly. If it's bad it may also correct the turn signal issue.

@Bigjcomeon There would be an issue with the switch, or if the headlight bulbs were replaced you may want to make sure that the correct ones were installed, as that could also create this type of situation. Hope this helps you out.
Might be that, or you may want to check the fuse and the wiring to see if the bulbs have power to them.
@siggersd That would be the wiper switch. We carry them for many different vehicles on our website 1aauto.com
@ComPrt3 Your 89 Chevy Caprice uses the same turn signal lever. The video should be the same for your vehicle. Hope this helps you out.
@Darb071 That application looks as though it uses a different style of switch. The basics might be similar.
@1aauto Worked like a charm. Thanks

If the new switch is hard to turn and not is not changing the settings over, then you will have to probably replace the switch again.

There's a rod for the high beams in the column that you might have to reattach. You'd have to pull the wheel and lock plate to get to it.
