One of my favorite characters in the whole show, was really sad to know that we won't see him again playing as Ivar the boneless which character Alex truly brought to life, me being huge into history was brilliant to see his saga finally told after the death of Ragnar he carried the show so that why I wanted to make this video dedicated to him I've spent a few months trying to make this as good as possible. This is my longest character video yet, I wanted to capture Ivar journey from being a cripple to a king which was truly great and incredible to see happen. I tried to show his whole long journey through this video. His cunning plans, his ambitions, his quest for revenge for his father and mother, his love for Freydis,Igor,Hvitserk,Floki and his dream to be the most famous Viking who ever lived which he achieved and finally his path to Valhalla. Ivar the Boneless who is brilliantly portrayed by Alex Høgh Andersen He's an incredibly well written character and is a really complex and interesting character. I really enjoy his manipulative schemes, and the change of his facial expression in a flash of a second. He really brought this character to life

Ivar was loved for his brains though. He was the Alexander of the vikings. Imagine if modern men and karens had to suffer the way he did. 😂 modern ppl are infinitely soft.if the vikings didnt get strong they could have been invaded by another force that was the rules of the game before ww2
Ivar one of the best actors in that series imo
I really love how even though it’s not historically accurate they still put a meaning behind each son. I mean each has an element of the other, but each one serves a symbol.
Bjorn: Ragnar’s Legacy (explorer & king)
Ubbe: Ragnar’s Dreams (to keep seeing new worlds)
Sigurd: Ragnar’s Curses/Misfortune (a symbol of his curses, vices, addictions & eventually downfall signified by Sigurd’s cursed eye & his death at the hands of Ivarr aka Ragnar still winning even though the misfortunes killed him by beating them through revenge alone)
Hvitserk: Ragnar’s Fears (mundane life filled with paranoia, however his fears were overshadowed by his legacy symbolised by Bjorn sparing Hvitserk)
Ivarr: Ragnar’s Revenge (Ragnar’s wrathful army to kill everyone he had a grudge with after death)
Incredible actor, each son had traits of Ragnar and they were each portrayed brilliantly
After Ragnar died I never thought I feel so much emotion for a character until Ivar appeared on the show I cried a little when he gave his speech about being a Viking in Kattegat I cried a lot when he said his final goodbye to Hvitserk and started yelling in Norse until his death
This is a masterpiece, well done 👏🏽
I don’t know why everyone is getting mad at ivar, he just does exactly what ragnar told him to do. Be ruthless and everybody will fear ivar the boneless

Watch the interview with Alex Høgh Andersen explaining why it happened that way . In the original script Ivar didn’t die . It was the actor himself who asked Michael Hirst to write him a death scene .
