I can't even begin to express how profound the content of this documentary was on my worldview and on my spirit. I cry every time I watch. And the music is incredible. I want to thank the creators for their work !
This was why when in Australia our now deposed government would say, " we must maintain the detention centres for refugees trying to 'jump the queue' ", and my heart sank. We take those who have "credentials" or 'wealth" to offer. I look at a bedragled uneducated person from a warzone who has nothing to offer us...and I see all of us... I see a prime minister, a wise woman, a contributor...given the chance.
I understand. This poor people want to reach "our western" level of developement and "life style". But our financial and economical societe is based on a zero-sum game. So this people are poor, because we a re rhich. If they want to be "rhich" in a zero-sum game society, another one must become poor for it. We cant put all people to "our level" and kind of living. We have to define another kind of living and society. For all.
