I recently moved to Calgary, Alberta from Caledon, Ontario.
I agree with most of the things Rishabh said except for two things:
1. Rental market is crazy right now and I don’t see any such incentives offered when signing lease. Rents here has increased almost 28% and the competition is high not just in Calgary but everywhere in Canada.
2. When people talk about taxes being less, I agree it’ll be less for buying a car, furniture, packaged/processed food, etc. But my day to day expenses will mostly be fresh produce and it’s not taxed. I honestly don’t see too much of a difference.
All in all I am loving Calgary! Hoping to make great memories here 🤠

I also moved to Calgary after living 6 years in Toronto & GTA. I feel my quality of life is way much better than Toronto in Calgary.
The rent in Calgary has gone up now! The free incentives that you were getting were happening before January. Right now 600 - 800 would get you a private room in a shared house. Around 1200 for private studio and 1400 - 1800 for private 1 or 2 bedroom apartment.
I moved in March with lots and lots of incentives…
actually 800 can still get you a one bed basement in the NE gotta know where to look
@@canadianjatti Sure in the NE in an unsafe area where there are lots of homeless druggies or safe areas in NE which are too far from downtown. You gotta pay more for better neighborhoods which are closer to downtown
@@ayushmalik118 I've lived closer to DT and further. Been in NE for about 25 years now. Nothing unsafe about it. DT and other areas of the city have a similar crime rate. Of course if you want to pay more for housing somewhere else to create a false illusion of safety then sure.

The only thing that is different is that you get to save a big chunk on rent, gas and groceries in alberta. In toronto you're literally living paycheck to paycheck unless you have a 6 figure job.

Ji I'm living now in punjab India.im canada citizen.but planning to come back in March 2023.as if I live near c train access in downtown then schooling is safe in downtown because I am single mother with 11 year old daughter.
