We're a Bluesrock band, 3 guys in our late 50's. Finally leaving the "local bar cover band" scene to do make our own music and build our own brand. #TheRoseCityRockers, #BluesRockRules
You're never too old. I had my first paid gig at the age of 61, now playing regular pub gigs and small local festivals. Looking to go regional and expand our originals catalogue. Starting WaterBear course in September - can't wait! Amused that you're talking about people in their 30s being too old. PS Damo's 30 day plan is awesome, maybe not to implement in exactly 30 days, but a great plan.
Playing pub gigs is not a career... Wish you all the best, but its a difference between hanging around in local bars for some money then to be a singing star and having a real career.. I'm 30 and I know that its too late :(
@@seeker_-_ You need to understand that success for most musicians today is being a musician, instead of working a dead end office job. Playing pub gigs is great - it's fun and pays the bills. What do you do?
@@seeker_-_ Rick Beato is almost 60 years old and he started his YT channel a few years ago. Right now he has 2.3 million subscribers. I know it's not the same as being a rock or pop star, but the guy is a music expert and he has a devoted following, including me. With internet, there is always an audience. The other thing is that, now that I'm older I know for sure I don't wanna be famous. I see how fame destroys and changes people. It's better to have loyal followers and a small fanbase than millions of dollars and your life shattered. I think actually it's better to start late, to be honest.
Literally same.. I've been told by people that i have it I can do it.. Nd 25 too and I'm feeling so old rn like almost at point where i think I'm too old to even deserve to have a career.. Couldn't relate more
25 is young as hell. Go hard or go home. You have PLENTY of time. If you think too hard and don’t accomplish what you want you’ll have so many regrets. My dad is 80 and makes at least $2000 us every month playing and singing. My whole family sings and plays we’ve all been on stage at some point in our lives. Just go for it and NEVER look back. You’ll get to the point where you’ll laugh looking back wondering what you were afraid of.
@@gamotronixe7134 Yeah bro, ultimately feeling better about it, realized builiding your own music is more important than sucess at first, , I think to start at 35 would be much harder, I just wish I had taken music in relation to instruments more serious when I was 10-20, I was just be happy about singing in church with a band around me and for people in general, but 25 is not old to get better at guitar and produce your own music, focusing on it now till I am 30 at least, then I can show what I built over the years and some covers, even willing to make sacrifices like not marrying for now and staying single while your work you way up, cause we all know we have to still keep a dayjob in that process.
@@Hiro.the.God. Thanks for that advice bro, I am feeling better about it, I just had that thing about making it before 25, but I realized its not fair to want it if I hadnt really worked for it since chilhood, I was only a very talented singer in church and college/school I got to confortable always having a band around me , but to make it you have to be more than just singing, thinking of going to a big show like people keep telling me before 30 here in Brazil, but first building my own music and improving on guitar, I dont want to just go and sing then have nothing to show for it.
I too am 51 and believed a lot of these myths for awhile. Lived in Nashville and drank the Kool-Aid for a long time. But I do music for a living now outside of Nashville. and have a growing fan-base of people my age and older. And they are WAY more loyal than younger fans AND they have the money to buy every piece of music and merch I sell.
Nice what type of music? Im 52 and i have the freedom to play but my music taste run still towards Rockabilly, nirvana, elvis, buddy holly 3 piece band garage rock. I feel that my musical tastes might not jibe with 52 year olds into new music? What niche did you find?
I'm 52, too. So you both already understand the conditioning of our fears growing-up. Possibly like you, around age 7, I wanted to sing & to write for the rest of life. While becoming a writer was never encouraged as a career for me, becoming a singer was considered an impossibility which I understood as a child! Yet all I wanted to do was music and books. I became a successful regional journalist, then realized it had meant almost nothing more than an ego trip when I became deadly ill. It was music I returned to. And though I had had five years' classic piano training, I'd been conditioned to feel such a thing was for personal expression. Well that was left behind. So hearing you guys in the almost exact feelings I've been in in recent years is a relief.❤
I think it's mostly because younger people try and believe anything is possible, it's not actually because of age per say. It's a belief thing. Older people seem to give up on their dreams when they shouldnt
I didn't pick up the guitar until 35, starting to take it seriously and have a dream I didn't realise I'd had until I was around 37/38. I've sung since I was 8, written poems since 11, song's for a couple of years and I'm just getting started! I don't make a living with it... yet, but I have a dream, the passion, 29 years of writing experience, am learning as much as I can and have the drive to want to work as hard as I can. What we have at our age is our ten thousand hours in a given area, with me it's writing and of course life experiences that most 18-25 year old's don't have because they haven't yet 'lived.' Others, like yourself, have played the guitar for decades and can not only perform, but teach.. then others are amazing vocalists. I've raised a child, have a roof over my head and bills paid.. The thing I don't really have is my health. I've suffered over three decades with mental health issues, two decades of which I've had seizures, but, there are still avenues that we can take to have a 'career' in music. It may take time and patience, but I believe anyone can follow a dream if they have the time, patience and willingness to learn. For me, it's learning everything I can about the 'new industry', learning the guitar, writing songs, and building up to be comfortable enough to start live streaming. From there, I have the possibility to reach an audience of all ages that are doing the same or similar thing. I'm already 'making friends' (not fans), that I have a connection with already.. and they have not heard a single original yet. Live streaming platforms with 'tip jars,' subscriptions, etc.. are popping up all over the place and it's a perfect place for someone like me, or anyone else to have their own platform and the possibility to earn a living from their music. As for 'success', people of our age are not likely to go world wide, play arena's, stadiums, or anything like that.. but we can have a more intimate connection with our audience, interact with them and in a majority of cases make true friends and connections. Call me old fashioned/soppy or whatever, but I define 'success' not being famous or rich, but using music and being myself and making someone smile, connecting with someone, lightening up their day, connecting/uniting a group of people together for the love of the company of one another and of course the music. If I could do that and earn a living out of it, the money is the bonus, reconnecting people together, something we've all but lost over the years, is what music is all about.
I just turned 30 and I find myself wanting to pick up my old teenage dream again, Playing goth punk and wanting to get a band together. I know it's in my head but I feel like I've missed the boat. I always say though 'it's worth a shot'
Thank you for this. I quit my day job 3 years ago, at 35 to pursue a career in music and I'm (just about) still managing. Some very useful and encouraging advice here.
You got it you got it is anyone is anyone got any idea where is anyone got any idea where I can wait and find a shop to convert my singing video clips and the digital format or digital file for downloading
@@mynameisirrelevant46 Yes I have been singing for over 15 years and I have been making singing recording videos for over 15 years and every device that I can find and buy
I just clocked 34, and now pursuing a career in music. Age doesn't border me because I believe no artistes in the world has taken what was destined to be mine simply because they came earlier than me. Thank you for your encouragement.
Brilliant... I'm 57 and about to release my debut album in November (2023). I'm as passionate and committed as I would have been aged 17 or even 27 - with the added benefit of hard-fought wisdom, years of experience and some amazing stories that can be told/shared (well, mostly). I treasure it far more than had it happened back in the day. I am my own gate-keeper!
Just be smart about it.Some of you out there (including this writer and vlogger) have the artist aspiration. You have been told by the very few who made it to believe in yourself and never give up. Well the simply fact is the arts are very different than any other profession. Because usually--someone else has to let you in. Now what I would tell you if you are 18 or 40 and feel that your destiny is in the arts? I would not tell you to just stay the "safe route" and give up on your dreams. I would tell you to pursue the artist aspiration smartly. Get another trade that you at least like. So the agents of industry never have you by the throat. You have to go to work anyway so you might as well have the job that pays well. I never went through the starving artist phase. I went through a starving student phase. So when I finally did pursue the artist endeavor I did it with a job I also like that contracts for 100K a year and four month vacations in Europe. That's how you go through being a starving artist. You don't starve at all. Hope this helps someone---Charles
Brother I realized in my late 30s that have musical talents.Because my age I'am doubtful on going 100% of being a mainstream artist. But I keep going back to it.Because I'am extremely passionate about it.
Some 50 year olds that have well paying jobs have big bucks to buy gear. Imagine how much easier to keep control of your music that is? I have at least 60k in gear that I have just for fun. Someone like me wouldn’t have a problem getting whatever I need to make it. It should be about talent and mainly fun. Nope I won’t leave my day job, I could do both. I can play somewhere 3 days a week and work my day job. Its a hobby that can make you money.. I will enjoy the process and the fun. I have money to provide to my family, its like a new beginning. Everyone should be following their passion. You only live once.
Thank you guys. You have brought back my belief in myself a little. I'm 31 and I often think that maybe I'm already late and hating myself for missing opportunities. I'm EDM producer, dj, but all my projects weren't successful. From other hand I earn money producing music for other artists, companies, but I don't like do it, cause my dream is to be an artist. I feel like I have already lost my chances and my fate is only to be a ghost in this industry. But your video makes me thought, that it's not yet too late.
I had the pleasure of seeing Phil Collins in Munich yesterday. He is 68 years old. His son, who played awesome drums throughout the gig, is 18. If you've got it - it really doesn't matter how old (or young) you are.
I remember thinking I was over the hill at 25, but deciding to give it "one last try". That was in 1996. GOD, if only I hadn't had that mind virus holding me back! Here we are in 2023, and now it's only other people who think I'm too old. Bruce Dickinson looks AMAZING for his age, btw! "Scream for me Long Beach!" 🤘🤘
The problem from my perspective is finding the right people. unless you make it above a certain threshold of "fame" you don't get a foot in the door. You need to get to know relevant people in your scene/genre. Like once you start going on tour with established bands, then you get to know a lot of musicians and those people you can ask "do you know a singer/drummer/etc that might be interested". if you are a nobody in a small country.... good luck finding a bandmembers that 1) want to make the same music as you 2) are determined and professional in their attitude 3) are good musicians 4) don't 200km away from one another. Its like winning the lottery. The challenge is for people who don't know anybody.
I just turned 77 on May 5, 2022. Am I too old to have a career in music? Hell no. If you have a gimmick I believe you can become Very successful in music no matter how old you are. I have a gimmick. A few years back I began doing it with theater in a one man where as I glorified old age and people loved it. I learned from my audience that people have hang ups about old because of how our society dread the idea of growing old and they live their whole life dreadfully growing old. But I have been successful in helping many change that way of thinking through my shows. I'm not doing theater these days. I'm doing music. That's where my heart is and I can almost reassure, there is a HUGE growing audience of over 50 music lovers and music buyers that has not been touched. Thanks to baby boomers and now ex generationers who are living like 30 year olders and they're hungry for new music. They're sick of nostalgic stuff. And that's what I write, new music that will hopefully be appeasing to the 50 plus listeners. It's already started with Charlie Wilson & Smokey, Ron Isley and, of course, Bruno Mars,Anderson Paak & Silk Sonic. In a few final words, I use my music as entertainment intergenerationally. If you're interested in what I'm doing give me a reply. David Glover, aka Old King David
@@Andu_music That`s bullshit. In electronic music there is loads of artists getting signed to labels (majors to) in their 30s and beyond. Besides, does been younger (under 30) make you an better artist? Look at someone like Debra De Luca in techno. She didn't really make it big until she was in her mid 30s until 2017. Before then, no-one knew who she was. Same with the Blessed Madonna to. She was like way into her mid 30s when she made it, as well as Maceo Plex. Labels aren't gonna give a shit of how old you are. As long as your music does the business, thats the only thing that matters.
I'm a 61 year old woman, almost 62, and I only started in music at 55. Did I care? Nope. And neither has anybody I've talked to about it. Seriously. Think about it: does your guitar care how old you are? Does that song that wants you to write it care? Nope. BIG nope. Age, schmage. I'm a feisty, independent thinker, and a free spirit. If I want to do something, I do it. I guarantee, your age matters a lot less than you think it does. Don't be like these people I see on Twitter asking "I'm ( ). Am I too old to..." I always tweet back "No. Think for yourself."
I was a child prodigy all set for world domination but pressure and undiagnosed adhd derailed it all. Music is still my first love, obviously, but I've dabbled and never applied myself since. At 48 I'm seriously considering finally trying to do a music degree but I'm not sure if I'm too old...
That was excellent thank you... I'm a 40 year old musician who has thought this loads. I've been just living off music for the past 7 years, but I'm a solo musician who has been living out of our camper van... We built it ourselves so it's pretty much perfect for what we want... Anyway due to whats happening in the world, I can't live in festival land any more, so my whole model is changing... Still trying to figure it out, still seeing what's next...
I'm 40 and I love singing, music is my passion I think there's hope for all men.its just demoralising that I'm 40 and skint,I feel like I've failed my son who's 12,and my partner.
I'm 37. I started learning to play guitar ten years ago. I'm writing lyrics for some country music I want to play but I haven't got a chord progression to any of my lyrics yet. When I do get them together I'm gonna post them on my channel. Wish me luck y'all.
My parents didn't allow me to study music at the conservatorie when I was a child. It takes 20-30 years to become a professional classical musician and I'm 30 already. The point was that the tourism industry gives money: I'm broke. By the time I'll graduate I'll be so old I'll be forced to retire. They made study something I never wanted and I said many times that I didn't want to study. Now I'm stuck in a a career path I hate. It's worthless now. A job that you hate so that you can have what you wished was your profession as a hobby is no way to live. It's f*cking worthless to me. My narcissistic parents destroyed my dreams and they are going to pay for it.
im 37 no kids no morgage never married...im play guitar, drums, etc play and i want to have the same audience people like eric johnson , joe satriani, and steve vai do.....instrumental guitar...and lots of it....im not sure im to old orr whatever but i feel that its what god put me here to do....i mean who can have a bad day while listening to cliffs of dover, or always with me always with you? i cant see anyone doing that...........i want to help enhance peoples life with music...and im pretty sure im not crazy...if you can do it. DO IT. i know i can AND WILL. it just takes time.
There’s an analogy there like football. Watching a Premier League match isn’t more entertaining than a lowly non-league team. Yeah, one is of a higher standard. More lucrative. Yet, not more entertaining.
good info guys, I am close to retirement and will be meeting with a group of musicians who wants me to play with them, they are not a band but a group where people who are looking for a band meet up, I will be taking some of your online classes in the fall. Your videos are something of a shortcut for those of us who have played but not in a paid band.
This is so fantasic and uplifting. Man i am 35 years old,and feel i want to give up with you and downs in the music industry . But i know deep down innside that music is what i want to do for the rest of my life.. There's no options for me. I will not to give up 🎵❤🙏. Even in my 40-50 and 60s!!
I am a veteran. I had a whole career in another field. When I quit my job and began playing open mics every night at the age of 30, people told me I was insane. Now I'm feeding my kids by off a touring paycheck and my future is bright. I played guitar all my life, but it only became a profession these past three years. Now I am touring with huge bands and getting paid. It is a lot of work, but it is possible.
what do you mean by a career? i'm 79 and i'm in 2 bands. one band is a six piece with 2 girl vocalists plus myself and the guitar/leader who also sing. we're still doing the 60's thru the 90's rock and roll scenario. my other band varies between a 3 piece (with me playing keyboard bass and keys) and a 6 piece in which the drummer becomes the front person and we have another drummer and a bass player who plays guitar (in the 3 piece). we play mostly for fraternal organizations (eagles, elks, veteran's organizations. and senior centers) and have been busier than i have ever been in any of my earlier bands. i have been playing in bands since high school in the early 60's. sometimes i have played music to supplement my income while having a day job. other times i have solely depended on playing music. i retired from my day job 7 years ago and consider my music playing as an avocation as well as a hobby. so, am i pursuing a career in music? btw, the rolling stones got together about the same time as i got into my first band.
Thx guys… being a 57 yo that has played in hard rock, radio rock, acoustic duo and solo acoustic bands, i felt too old…but i agree w/wut u say… didnt see that POV… right on!
This is was just simply amazing content in relation to the topic! Being a mature woman changing genres late in my career, I really struggle with this at times when creating and buidling my brand. I need a good manager and talent development team for sure! I hope to attract that soon for aid in my career as an entertainer! All the best and keep making this stuff Indie artist need it!!
Absolutely amazing content and very engaging conversation. I am sure everyone watching this had taken something positive away. Good Manager + Good Artist would beat an amazing artist in any day. Just look at Kygo and Myles. What they did together is beyond. Is there a place to search for a good manager??? Pressure cooker is a great example too. I am guilty as always thinking 'this got to work now now now'
Watching this the day before my interview for a job position (FT Paid) in the MB. I got my Diploma in MB in the UK at 33 y.o, was offered to carry on with a research project... after summer 2020, I declined the offer and related funding FO THIS SAME FEAR those amazing guys are talking about. THAT WAS ONE OF THE WORST DECISIONS I HAVE EVER MADE IN MY LIFE! I'm all about conceptualisation, so that course would have suited me quite well. But I was thinking I needed to learn more about marketing, and now I'm juggling other 3 advanced classes in PPC, Digital Marketing, SEO writing. Still, without the music application and implication, I'm just not ignited. If you are a creative person, the straight-up corp world will kill u. So again, do not give up!
I’m 45 bassist just joined a band and seriously thinking of quitting;I would like to write tunes but the cover bar band honestly means nothing to me...😔
Chase your dreams. Yea chances aren’t you won’t become a world icon, but you’re getting to do what you love. If I can pay my bills with music I’d be happy as heck. Whether it’s 36k or millions.
im 36. my entire life has been grinding poverty, jobs that paid shit, just awful jobs. busted my ass forever, rarely got even a small break. amps would blow and id be forces to sell them as-is for nothing. shitty hand me down laptop would break and id lose all my music. staying in slumlord apartmentts. ive got every skill imagineable by neccessity but when tour prents and everyone around tou is just as broke, life is a very different ride. if your car breaks down its a chain reaction and then you are completely homeless. Now ive got two vehicles, two gibsons les pauls an ableton rig, and a great apartment. Now I can finally play, this was the plan, every day all along. This is how long it took. Nothing but struggle and loss and not a single fucking opportunity dispite busting my ass and being smart and skilled. Before anything else, get a skill like welding or tech support, carpentry ect. You cannot depend on tour friends and your band. They will let you down. get a job, a nice place to live, save your money and be the boss in charge of your musical direction. You will magically find the other musicians who have nice basement studios and their life together. You wont make it on the streets. the rockstars you admire often had parents who were well off and a lot of things were handed to them. dint be fooled by their image, theyve been bailed out a million times and youve probably worked harder to get some gas in your car then they have their entire life. find a trade, build your rig, dont waste time with people who dont have their shit together.
I can totally relate. since i turned 20 ive been becoming homeless every 2 or 3 years and just grinding shit jobs in between. Ive been wanting to take college courses again for music theory and start lessons for instruments but i feel like all my time and energy gets spent just trying to survive, its extremely frustrating. i just turned 28 this year and finally found a stable place to live, I am determined to start recording and uploading to youtube this year.
Yeah I'm 28. I talked about it but I never really seriously considered it because my mother always thought people she has weird ideas so I put it off I know I'm 28 and I'm kind of like considering it
I'm 28 years old now , I'm a former reporter , from Pakistan, unfortunately Pakistan music industry isn't stable , . cani start my career now ... singing music , is my passion
You really can't count the Eagles and the Stones in this discussion because they got in back when they were young and when you could get massive on one or two records with serious label backing.
It all depends on your musical level. If you are lets say 30, 40 or more and you ve been playing your instrument for a long time and you are good you ll probably get a gig. Of course probably not in a band of 20 year olds but for sure in a band of musicians around your age.
I used to think I was too old too, that I didn't have enough connections. Just put out my first instrumental EP last year, at age 26. Never say never, people.
The problem with older musicians has nothing to do with age. If your music isn't current, well-written, and performed sharply, it won't succeed. You need all three of those to be tops. But rarely are older musicians interested in being current. It's great that you can play Dark Side of the Moon and Tom Petty. Yes, they still have listeners, but would they have made it today? An older musician who writes current-sounding material, and plays it with some heart, some power and some finesse can succeed, they will see no barriers to any level of success.
Im 27 and restarting my music career. I do mostly rap/alt some melodic rap. Is it too late? By the time I blow up Id most likely be 33-34. It could happen before then too but im just giving myself the most amount of time by estimating 33-34. Am i out of consideration of being signed to a label because of age or does just the fanbase matter and they dont care? I would love to get a response from someone with experience in the music business or knowledge on it.
@@BobbyBundlez that was me on another account. Turned 28 in October, Im mostly upset about the time I wasted. If i had known labels dont sign artists over 30 It would have been different
Being older can be an advantage. because you have life experience and hopefully you were a student of music all that time before starting your own journey. And keep in mind you are new and can be a true innovator. Doesn’t mean you will have mass appeal but if you focus on getting good you will be rewarded.
@@babyzorilla true. My music i have now is on the level of a lot of mainstream artists and im serious when i say this. Because I spent so much time working on my craft. I have some fire songs, again its just about getting into an A&R's ears or someone in the industry before i turn 30. Which is a year from now
Dude, just don't waste your time, you're in the best age to start and make your dream come true! I'm older than you(31) and so upset that I've lost a chance, but still believe that I have the last one..
Started singing at 7 and professionally at 19. I stopped at 22 because I would constantly find myself in the hands of exploiters. I'm now 32 and have recently gone back to doing music. I honestly feel terrible that I lost my best years because of other people. And it makes me a little upset because I was so good and made people cry whenever I sang. But then I remember that I was way too young and was dealing with years of childhood trauma from bullying and emotional abuse. It honestly feels like it's too late, but I still sing, write and produce because it makes me happy. Great video though!
IT IS TRUE age, fear, "feeling too old for (fill-in blank for your circumstance)" - are not real aspects of our universe! Age does not exist. So, learn what only you are here to do. To identify if a thing like being a fuller musician is your purpose right now - as in, a musical form or job at ANY AGE - it's oddly easy. In order to be able to accurately decide to pursue any thing, define and decide who you are and what specifically-you can willingly do. You can do it by following simple steps: 1. Find a place you will more likely than not be left in peace at a minimum-30 minutes. 2. Consider the thing you've been considering an awful lot about these days by considering it never existed - not even a little - throughout your life. Then consider it never existing in a next life. 3. Without over-rationalizing any thought that comes to mind answer - as simply as possible - the question, "Would I still exist without it?" If "Yes" is the answer, you're onto a life-helping answer. If "No" is your answer, you're also onto a living solution. 4. For "Yes" answerer: Are you certain your universe can sustain forever (as it has) without this personal idea/thing/interest ever existing? If so, how ably would it exist without it? If you wish, in the upper Search box, copy/paste " universe-sustaining-laws plus their humanely-uplifting-forms " 5. For "No"-er answerer: If all of life might suffer even some without the thing existing - the thing, that us, that you're trying to make a decision about in order to make your next move - be assured it IS an essential part of your (and all) reality. So, go ahead. Invest more of who you are at your core into it, depending, of course, on your own circumstances as a whole. It will uplift you and all LIVING (as opposed to dying) humans & beings around you. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do it! When you’re 40 you’ll wish you’d have done it. And then when you’re 50, you’ll wish you’d had done it at 40 if you still weren’t able to in your 30s ❤

Feeling too old at 25 and afraid to go for it even if people tell me I'm very talented, thank you for that advice!
I’m turning 28 next month. Still going for it.
I'm 37 n I still love music and I aspire to be a producer.. I been at it since I was 14 n not giving up
I too am 51 and believed a lot of these myths for awhile.
Why is it a common misconception that innovation is the domain of the young.
Great to see the two of you doing videos together 👍
Man, I wish you to achieve all your goals 🙌
You got it right.
I just turned 30 and I find myself wanting to pick up my old teenage dream again, Playing goth punk and wanting to get a band together. I know it's in my head but I feel like I've missed the boat. I always say though 'it's worth a shot'

I also just turned 34 & I’m still struggling a lot with feeling like I’ve wasted my life.
I am 67 years old and still singing cover songs.
I don't know any artists that got signed to a label over 30 or got successful over 30. Its really sad, im 28 and it really doesn't make any sense
I had the pleasure of seeing Phil Collins in Munich yesterday. He is 68 years old. His son, who played awesome drums throughout the gig, is 18. If you've got it - it really doesn't matter how old (or young) you are.
Phil Collins started and became a huge star while he was a young man
I remember thinking I was over the hill at 25, but deciding to give it "one last try".
I'm 48 yrs old and I have my first ever band practice this weekend with fabulous musicians who want to play my original songs.
I really needed this conversation 🔥
Jimmy Helms from Londonbeat was 50 when they had their first and only number 1 hit.

Seems like I'm not the only one. Ok time to go to work. Great show!

im 36. my entire life has been grinding poverty, jobs that paid shit, just awful jobs. busted my ass forever, rarely got even a small break. amps would blow and id be forces to sell them as-is for nothing. shitty hand me down laptop would break and id lose all my music. staying in slumlord apartmentts. ive got every skill imagineable by neccessity but when tour prents and everyone around tou is just as broke, life is a very different ride. if your car breaks down its a chain reaction and then you are completely homeless.
It all depends on your musical level. If you are lets say 30, 40 or more and you ve been playing your instrument for a long time and you are good you ll probably get a gig. Of course probably not in a band of 20 year olds but for sure in a band of musicians around your age.

Being older can be an advantage. because you have life experience and hopefully you were a student of music all that time before starting your own journey. And keep in mind you are new and can be a true innovator. Doesn’t mean you will have mass appeal but if you focus on getting good you will be rewarded.

You can do it by following simple steps:
If you wish, in the upper Search box, copy/paste
" universe-sustaining-laws plus their humanely-uplifting-forms "
Checking in at 38
You look great for 51 (in 2019) I would think you were about 38.
damn i really battle with this question i'm 30 now
Do it! When you’re 40 you’ll wish you’d have done it. And then when you’re 50, you’ll wish you’d had done it at 40 if you still weren’t able to in your 30s ❤
I think the accepted age of retirement is 65...

In the music industry, people are more receptive to men who are much older than they are towards women.
That’s quite the statement
@@WaterBear
It’s unfortunate and sad, but that’s just one gender barrier out of many that exist in the entertainment world.
I believe any age can make it even in there 50s and 79

Sorry gentlemen but my grandfather always told me, "Never trust a man who crosses his legs like a woman cause he probably doesn't have any balls".
And my Dad always said, "Never trust anyone with a neck tattoo, they're over-compensating for something"...
I live by that advice.
Bye...
Your grandfather was such blockhead.
