    Hey I’m Andrew The Once A Day Farmer, I farm alongside my father on my family dairy farm in New Zealand.
    Our Dairy system is quite unique as we only milk our 320 jersey cows Once A Day (hence the name), and they stay outside on grass for 365 days of the year!!

    Just came across your videos. Playing catch up. You got a nice farm there. Glad you can share it with us. I just became a subscriber yesterday. I'm watching you for the great state of Indiana here in America. Keep up the good work there.

    Hey Andrew! My hubby and I are enjoying your videos all the way from Southland. As a former Otorohangaian, it's nice to see whats up in the Waikato, and being from a dairy farming background, cool to see how you guys do things. Keep up the good work! 👍

    I am enjoying your videos very much.....incredible how much your land looks like some of the farms here in England....Do you farm sheep too?

    • @TheOnceADayFarmer
      @TheOnceADayFarmer  3 роки тому +2

      Nah no sheep farms around, with the exception of one down the road where they milk the sheep, it’s becoming bit of a trend at the moment (sheep milk).
      It’s gently rolling around here so all dairy, the further south you go the country turns more steep and better suited to sheep and beef 👍

    Awesome video as always my friend. Cracking tidying job, making full use of the excavator. Tree trimming, ditch digging, drainage, stump removal, and scraping the road. Did Phil the driver finish on time, or did it run into a third day. Enjoyable as ever thanks for sharing mate.

      What did he say at that point? - He said "Sweet" - it's slang it means "cool" or "great", we also say "sweet as", or if it's towards someone "sweet-as bro" sometimes :-)

    Hey mate how much milk do you feed ur calves cheers

    • @TheOnceADayFarmer
      @TheOnceADayFarmer  3 роки тому +1

      I give them about 1.5 - 2 litres twice a day. Jerseys can get the scours pretty easily, so In my opinion under feeding them is almost better for them

    • @jackking2626
      @jackking2626 3 роки тому

      @@TheOnceADayFarmer is that because of the high quality milk? would u feed a beef calf the same ammount and do you increase as they get older or stick to that how long does it take for them to reach 100kg cheers mate love ur stuff

    • @TheOnceADayFarmer
      @TheOnceADayFarmer  3 роки тому

      Yeah pretty much. I’d go more with beef like 2 litres plus, but I’m no expert with beef calves.
      I don’t have scales so not to sure how long it takes.
      I tend to just stick to that amount and give them meal and hay ASAP, but that’s just what I do, there’s a lot of different methods out there.
      Thanks jack much appreciated 👍
