Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf recently :)
My comment 15 years ago from my earlier account is still here. That was 2007, a time i found out about youtube. For an 80s kid who never get to watch these bands during my era, youtube is a time machine that takes us back to our young and restless period. Big thanks to you fir uploading this video. One of my top ten posts here . Godbless everyone.
This was in 1986 and it was one of my friends 15th birthday...we bunked the train from Southampton to Waterloo...did the punk shops on Carnaby St and then bunked the tube to Clapham Common...we were greeted with loads of police checking tickets at the top of the tube stairs...somehow they didn't check ours and we got free... It was an amazing day with some great artists playing...B.A.D being the pinnacle...there was also a Reggae Sound System behind the stage !! One of my memories was of a Rasta walking through the crowd with a huge snake wrapped around his neck while Gil Scott-Heron played 'The Bottle'...seems like it was a dream now that it's over 30 years ago !! Saw B.A.D loads in the 80s all over the UK in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, London etc but this was the first time I ever saw them live and one of my favourites !
I came up from Winchester, probably same train 🤣😂 I was the one in the green shirt, dark hair.....and way thinner dancing on the stage in this. Fantastic day and perfect performance!
B.A.D Shows that anyone can get get a record deal with an awsome accent, great members, and a smash hit like this. btw im only 14 wasn't even born in the 80's and this is one of the best songs I'v ever heard. Big Audio Dynomite Forever :)
80s' music was defiantly the era,i grow up in Australia and we had good music,my only regret in life is that i wasnt in england at that time, were the music was unreal,so many great bands, new romantics the list was endless.talk talk, big audio, psychic furs just to name a few.
Ritual - ideas - relativity Only buildings- no people - prophecy Timeslide - place to hide - nudge reality Foresight - minds wide - magic imagery>>>>> Thank you!!! (tears from crying) The best video, wow, thanks again....
Get music back to the level of ex-Clash project? Not gonna happen, mate. The Clash, Mick&Joe, were like The Beatles. Not gonna happen again. Be grateful you were there.
Just found this vid today. One of the best things to come out of the 80s and still sounding as good as it did. In terms of live performances - I've not seen many better than this. Excellent post.
We were there Yvette and Monique, right down the front as always! Actually we were on the photographers stand! Amazing gig, we waited all day, I got mugged and we didn't have anywhere to stay until our big sis came and rescued us! But it was all worth it! Love BAD
I was there for this one, it was a free all day gig on Clapham Common. Shame BAD only got to do three songs as they and Gil Scott Heron were the highlight acts. Oh, and Boy George was bottled off the stage. Top day out.
I saw a crowd like that, only more, take the stage while the Clash played 'Working For The Clampdown' in Detroit on the Combat Rock tour. It's too bad it happend the way it did with that lot, but Mick PROOVED who the musical spirit of that band was. B.A.D. were fantastic, those first lp's were so great. What a place Mick & his band's fill in history.
most of the time live music is better, but this song's gap between the live version and the record version is incredible. the single can't hold anything to this performance.
This is along with the Clash and Big audio one of the most important music groups in history, Just like the Beatles! Just listen to the words and the beat!
still rofl at gazzasandersons comment, so true. loved B.A.D back in the day and still love there songs shame this is the only song there really remembered for as most of there others are just as good
You in New Orleans? Man, I'm the jealous one! BAD played a flawless set, never hit a bum note. Highlight of the night: battle of all saints road - utterly fantastic
love it ,lucky enough to watch this at the newport centre.bad stopped after every track to reharge the "beatbox" ..this is music, million times better than the SHIT NOWADAYS
Great 'Performance'( pun intended) ,Tribute to the works of the late Nic Roeg... this is one of the few clips that captures how great BAD could be ('86-'88ish)... But does anyone have a definite date? ,As it doesn't look like January in Clapham..(!). & I like Micks "let 'em be" response to clearing the stage of 'Proto-Bez invasion'
Thanks John...so that was the gig with Peter Gabriel , Sting, Gil Scott Heron...etc Assuming they only had time for 3 songs (?) , what were the others?.. ' C'mon every beatbox ' ,'medicine show' ??
@@andchat6241 Yes, it was that gig. In 1988 the highlights were released on a commercial video called "Freedom Beat" which is where this was taken from. I'm assuming that's why there is a mix up with the year stated in the video title. They played "BAD" that night and (I think) "Medicine Show", but my memory is fading, maybe it was just the two songs.
Thanks for info John.. I've told a few people BAD 'live' could be as good as the Clash(who I also saw '80-'82)....this is one of the few bits of footage that gets that across ,I think..
Totally agree mate. Their power live sometimes doesn't come across in bootlegs/TV appearances. I have a few videos on my channel where they come close though, the Eurotube performance of Medicine Show is excellent.
Greeeat footage! Not crazy about the higher pitched singing in this verision, though...the style in which it is sung on the the album cut is a big part of what makes this tune.
@HarrytheHorse i think you're definitely right. i remember that i watched this video broadcasted on japanese tv when i was a student, back in the late 1980s (88 or 89, sorry, i'm not sure).
How has this only got 84,649 viewings? I must have watched it myself at least 200,000 times.
Love you Mick. Once a Clasher, always a Clasher.
What a good comentary!!! I've been listening about 100000 billones times like you dude!!!!
I think I'm clocking 8 zillion
It's us four .. account for the 459,000 now!!
Right 👉🏽 low ball count. Mick rocks.
One of the greatest song ever... this live version is brilliant.
deadly
Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf recently :)
@Joshua Owen yup, I've been using instaflixxer for years myself :)
it is awesome
Actually superior live than on vinyl. Not many bands can pull it off.

Caramba que registro memorável, muito obrigado!

@@waynemcgearey956 Fantastic Wayne ! Just watched it and saw you on the stage...'Magic imagery oh ho' !
How am I just seeing this?!? The studio single is great , but this Live version has so much energy and life! Simply fantastic!

I wonder how many decades it would take to make a ladder so music can climb back up from what it is now..... to what it was... back then ?
Get music back to the level of ex-Clash project?
Not gonna happen, mate.
The Clash, Mick&Joe, were like The Beatles.

This is brilliant. What a fantastic song and great band.
This was June 28th 1986! One of the best nights of my life. A crate of Heineken and local herb, yeah what a day it was!
We were there Yvette and Monique, right down the front as always!
Actually we were on the photographers stand!
Amazing gig, we waited all day, I got mugged and we didn't have anywhere to stay until our big sis came and rescued us!
But it was all worth it!
Love BAD
Yvette Clark Great gig wasn't it ! I was there too...15 yrs old.
i've never seen or heard this song live, ever. thanks. i love a rare one.
This would have been a great show to be at, the crowd is jumping the whole time and the band is tight.
Fuming Riley I was 15 and I was there...it was amazing !!!

I have to watch this video at least 5 to 10 times a day. I love it.
You're a legend, Mick.

This live version is so awesome!! They included everything from the album version!! Percussionist is also amazing!!!
absolute classic, fresh as a daisy
who do you think you are.... the lone ranger....come on
most of the time live music is better, but this song's gap between the live version and the record version is incredible. the single can't hold anything to this performance.
Totally agree! I check back in now and again to enjoy the magic 👍 Its saved in my favourite playlist.
Loved just recently getting into this. BAD
At the brief instrumental interlude, at around 3:03, as the bouncers are clearing the stage of the riff raff, Jones can be heard saying "Let em be."
yes, you're right, testimony as to what the guys really like...
Sums it up perfectly ay mate.
Just not fazed..reads how people are reacting...
Compare to (1 of micks 'heroes')Keith Richards early '80s hitting guy with guitar...
This is along with the Clash and Big audio one of the most important music groups in history, Just like the Beatles! Just listen to the words and the beat!
can't agree with you more, wish therewas a HQ audio version of this one. So much better.
Love that they all carry on playing when the stage is invaded
Was at one of their first gigs in th 80s, at the Barrowlands Glasgow
Way way ahead of their time. samples and crossover tunes....Fucking brilliant.

Thanks John...so that was the gig with Peter Gabriel , Sting, Gil Scott Heron...etc

(just like Einstein's Theory)
Boss. This is a fckin gig.
Excellent!!
Boss boss boss.
Good reliable legacy of the CLASH !
Underrated band -- Mick so fucking ahead of his time. And all those allusions to Nicholas Roeg's films - what a smartie-pants!
This Rocks....looks Like Every one is having a BLAST. Killer!!!!
This is really good live.
beautiful
Greeeat footage! Not crazy about the higher pitched singing in this verision, though...the style in which it is sung on the the album cut is a big part of what makes this tune.
'The Best Band in West London'... B.A.D!!
