Omg Betsy - pleaaaase do a video telling us all about your lacunosa types!!! I can barley find like 3-4 types on the internet. Show us your collection! 💗
200 Hoyas😍😍😍I have around 50 species and they are finally starting to take off and space is definitely becoming an issue.... I can't wait to see the Hoya wall project💚💚 I just made a video of my wishlist hoyas, but the Mathilde and Bella are on it.
My proudest and rarest hoya is a bog standard carnosa passed down from my grandmother, who we sadly lost last month. It's essentially a great-great-great-grand cutting from the original, a plant that began in west Kentucky over 100 years ago. Hoyas live a long time and their cuttings go on and on. Pretty cool to have this living heirloom with me, especially watching it come to life with new growth this early spring. She stays with us this way.
A few tips, as a fellow hoya head from South East Asia: The coriacea silver is still a mystery, what it really is, to me, is still up in the clouds between coriacea silver, phyllura silver and nervosa jokul. Stenakei has a few forms, with the full dark (almost fully black flower) variant having slightly darker and thicker leaves. There are two variants of that sp. NOID from papua, one with the flower you have described, and the other with a star-shaped and hairy corolla. both have tiny, round leaves. You can just fly over to Indonesia for your lacunosa variegata and louisa's silver xD.
Holy Hoya! It’s so funny to see the difference between my wish list and yours! It’s wonderful to expand my knowledge by watching these videos, but hard on my brain, wallet, and marriage! Ha ha My list is pretty original starting at the lacunosa, burtoniae, and the heuschkeliana variegated… So ya…. I need to up my Hoya game! I haven’t even heard or seen the types your listing off! I’m jealous of your knowledge and findings! *plant envy is really setting in hard! 🌿😢😱🤤❤️
Beautiful hoyas (200 is not enough), fantastic editing (always love your videos), lovely haircut (not that you didn't look gorgeous before) and interesting information as always! I would have to think about a Top 10 wishlist, because I don't own that many Hoyas yet and the are also some common ones, that I would like to add :-)
I am so glad I finally had time to watch this! That Hoya sp. papua serpens mimic is so pretty and cute! My H. serpens don’t love me yet…but working on gaining their love. I am also super duper relived that you also view $100 for a 2-leaf cutting as high. I cannot commit that much $$ to that. I know you have one, but my one-day-when-I-know-I-can-keep-Hoyas-long-term is Hoya gunung gading - all the ones I’ve seen are steep for my current investment risk/benefit situation.
Stenakei dark form is indeed beautiful… quite easy care too. Mine is living in full living moss and she loves it. It costs around 15-20 euro here in Indonesia for 2 leaves. There is Stenakei Pink also here.
That's good to know. I want to be sure it's an easy Hoya if I ever intend to spend a lot on it. 😅 It would be cheaper via import, this is just the price from European vendors.
Ooo! Looking forward the hoya project! I keep getting hoya that aren't on my wishlist because I am in a Hoya Rich Environment here in NYC and I have no willpower. (Spoiled, is what I mean.) High on my list right now and MOSTLY THE FAULT OF Roos's big hoya collab video are: flagellata, mitrata, decipulae and insularis. And heuschkeliana variagata, which is not hard to get I'm just waiting for the right moment.
Hi Betsy! All of the hoyas on your wish list are pretty, but I really like the lacunosa variegated one. I don't have any expensive, or rare, hoyas on my wish list because I couldn't afford them. LOL! Thank you so much for sharing!
I am going with your wishlist as we have the same taste when it comes to hoyas. I, too, love Hoya Lacunosa. I only have 100 Hoyas. I need to catch up to you Besty. 😁 On another note, your workouts are making you shine. You are looking incredibly fit!!🥰🥰🥰😊😊
Love the variegated Hoya lacunosa, hope you get it soon and make a video. I love hoya Haniai with red leaves when sun stressed. I couldn't find it for sale in Europe but I think it's more available in US. Thanks for sharing your Wishlist and happy growing.
I tried putting Hoya hanhiae in the tent but it seemed to grow away from the light as if it was trying to escape. It seems to do better in low light. I'll have to try again.
And here I am still trying to find a heuschkeliana variegata cutting that isn't $25 per node. I can't be making these lists, I have to save up for a house within my lifetime!
BETSYYYYYY- I literally SQUEALED and told you to shut the front door when you flashed the variegated lacunosa…I’m like…I don’t REALLY need to buy food do I?! How do you explain to non-hoya-heads why this two leaf tiny cup of unicorn sparkle farts is worth the $100 you just dropped on it😂🤷🏻♀️you’re not helping my hoya problem out at all, but I love you even more for it🥰😘
Hoya sp NOID papua has been *instantly* added to my wishlist... I'm so lucky to own lacunosa Louisa's silver, and lacunosa silver mint coin, I believe from the same plant as in @crazyplantbunny photo used here
There’s a new Hoya in town….. Hoya Madara 😉 very rare, a few on Instagram and google returns didley squat. I gather it originates from Japan as Madara means mottled, one of the FB groups mentioned it and the absolutely ridiculous price it’s being auctioned off - $3000. Is it on my list 🤔 at that price - hell no! The ones I do have on my list are :- Hoya heuschkeliana Miao, Hoya Tequila Sunrise, Hoya Walliniana Variegata
Not gonna lie. After Miro's list when I saw rigidifolia being listed for sale, I bought it. But as I was browsing I came upon Hoya Rindu Rafflesia sp Sumatra. Also bought that one too. Kind of/ slightly resembles Sulawesi
Hoya lacunosa Luisa's Silver might be another commercial name for what is sold in my country as a lacunosa snow caps select. It's not half as expensive as Luisa's Silver and to my eye it's identical if you find a solid silver one (they come speckled too).
I had an Sp NOID Papua.. It's finicky.. Needs higher humidity I think. I killed it😭😭😭.. The 2nd one I ordered, didn't do so well with the seller and she cancelled my order.. 😅😅
Hi Betsy, I hope you don’t mind this is nothing to do with Hoyas lovely tho they are, but I suddenly remembered Austin (Plant Plebe) had a rapport with you n wondered if you had any news of him? I’ve only just got into utube planty stuff n really liked the guy but realised he hadn’t been active on his channel for 2 years!! Since he got married?! Such a shame 😪 God bless you 🙏. ✌️🇺🇦🌻
I haven't heard from him in a few years. I know he was working on his PhD if I recall, I suppose he likely found work and it's very difficult to maintain a UA-cam channel when you have full time work. :)
Thanku so much for your swift reply Betsy, very kind of you. Of course you understand what it takes to run a channel, I never thought of it before. God bless you 🙏✝️ ✌️🇺🇦🌻
Hi Betsy. Just watched your video. Just wanted to give my perspective on Hoya indaysarae. Apparently according to its morphological features, some taxonomists argue to put it under Hoya scortechinii. Hope this comment helped
Interesting, thanks for sharing. I'm looking at a scortechini right now and it sure doesn't look similar at all to me. 😂 Now I'll definitely have to get it so I can compare.
@@betsybegonia The circulating image around the net shows the flower having not opened up fully yet. But, there are some on-going researches here and there to which most of the Hoya researchers and enthusiasts here in our country seem to agree on. Oh and also please be careful as well since indaysarae, if I'm not mistaken is not in circulation even in our country. Some sellers may tag the wrong Hoya and could lead to misidentification. Hope this comment helps
Yes, I definitely need a holiday in Thailand. And thank you. It was not supposed to be this short, the hairdresser didn't understand how curly hair works. 😂 At least hair grows back!

Hi Betsy! I think with 200+ hoyas, you can now call yourself Betsy B. Hoya lol 🤣🌱 btw, have you seen var.hoya walliniana? (if you don't have it already) they kinda look like var. lacunosa. They're both sooo pretty 😍
