I just bought this dvd for 4.00 at a music store last night..i went right to this song and just this song gave me goosebumps. I am so glad I bought this. This video makes me want to take my guitar and go play in a differnt country. I will never get sick of thins song. LONG LIVE COLLECTIVE SOUL. Thanks for your great inspiring music guys.
I remember walking along the cliffs behind Waverley Cemetery in Sydney. I was standing on the cliffs looking down below & feeling sad. This song came on my walkman radio & I heard the lyrics. I started crying. I couldn't believe the timing & coincidence at that exact moment.......... So I walk up on high And I step to the edge To see my world below And I laugh at myself As the tears roll down 'Cause it's the world I know Oh, it's the world I know
Just Great!! I do not exaggerate: This song, it's official video and this beautiful performance make me cry! I feel sad because of all poors, homeless and lonely people! I love Collective Soul! I Love Jesus!!! Stop wars!!!! We all have the same feelings! Love, kisses, weeps, cryings and laughs are the same in all the languages!!!
This was made as part of a series called "Music In High Places". They took various bands/singers out of their normal environment and took them to many parts of the world and recorded shows. This one by Collective Soul was filmed in Morroco i believe around 2000 or 2001. I have the entire DVD, if you are a Collective Soul fan its well worth picking up.
It is refreshing to hear someone talk with true empathy and the realization of the world outside of our "excessive" existence. Morocco is where the "rich and hip" like to swing by to add to their status image. This song is truly amazing and the tapestry of the country is rich and textured.
I'm 65 and a solid Stones and ACDC and REM and now, late as usual, Collective Soul listener. What you need to do is just read the lyrics. That in itself could stand alone. The whole band seems to connect in some way. I listened to them on the radio when they started but did not relate to them then. My lose.
what could be more artsy than a different land with ordinary people going about their daily lives with Collective Soul as their background tune? very touching...
This is perhaps my all-time favourite video. It captures the essence of what it's like to be in Marrakech. I love how the locals either ignore them (Yeah, yeah, just another film crew blocking traffic) or look, then move on, except the young guys, who aren't sure what attitude would be the coolest way to respond. Thanks for posting this! Love it lots!
Not to get too deep, but the fact that this musical style (90s pop rock) can be played in a busy Moroccan street and fit in is testament to the songwriting abilities of this band and probably many like it from the same era. Can you see Beyonce doing this? IMO 90s guitar based rock is culturally as important as that which came out in the 70s and will be revisited for years to come.
This is my all time favorite band...in fact I don't think there is one song I don't like. Each song has so many memories tied to it. Like this song. Stumbling upon this video actually choked me up for a moment as it brought back very good memories of a special girl who once graced my life ...Thanks for posting this.
Wish they would release and "official" version of all the acoustic versions they've done so we could purchase them! One of my favorite bands that emerged in the 90s.
You are welcome..it was a pretty easy choice since Collective Soul in one of my favorite bands. I have had the chance to see live 2 times..and I live in Canada!
Hmmm, anyone else notice the ironic comparison to the original video where everyone is just walking by, oblivious to what is needed at that time and space? With exception to the kids at the end. Very cool.
Wow wow... if I was there and saw this action I would scream hysterically.... Ed Roland & Dean Roland I love love love you both!!!!
Hearts with Morocco this week. 🇲🇦
Some songs only get better the more you hear them. This song has been getting better since I first heard it over 25 years ago!
made this band the real deal....hit the acoustic mark, im on board
Music is a universal language, much in the same manner of mathematics.
THE MOST underrated band around, great musicians and great music. Love them!!
You will never see a child witness great music without being taking a back for at least a moment.
Not with today's music imo
What this song here shows what talent they are. Playing in such an obscure place and automatically gaining new fans. Priceless
Bro was a very technical singer. Does everything the right way. That's why he can still sing this great today.
So true, spread it to everyone.
No he can't he's the one supplying the drugs and he's on daily.
16 years and I still come back to listen
I laughed at myself while the tears rolled down; It's the world that I know!
2:40 That kid is having his mind blown. Best part of the video by far.
That kid knows a legend when he hears one.
he knows what is good music
It`s one of those songs where if you come across it while it`s playing, you stay to listen to the end. It grabs me. How about you?
This song found its way into my head as I walked the Camino Frances. A great song with great Camino memories

The world, and God works in mysterious ways. I hope that you are still with us?
Glad you are still with us. That's God's work.
Just Great!!

This is beautiful, such musical purity. You feel it in every corner of your soul, I wish today's generation had what we had
the 90's was the best decade of music in history. We were so lucky.
They wouldn’t have the attention span to appreciate it.
This sounds so awesome. I cant believe this is a live recording. It sounds close to the original. Amazing sound.
One of the most beautiful songs in the world imho thank you!
