I would post The Tides of War (both mixes of that song actually), but that song keeps getting blocked on UA-cam. The next song I'm going to upload is actually a song I've uploaded before; Memento by Epica. Last time, the audio was sourced from another UA-cam video, and slightly adjusted in Audacity to be at the same level as the rest of the album. This time it's special, as I got my hands on a vinyl copy of The Quantum Enigma and was able to convert the song to digital myself.
@@dawn9240 yeah i just heard it recently. Its a bit heavier on the reissue. Alot more focus on the instruments on the songs in this reissue. While i dont mind it, its come at the cost of removing some vocal tracks from certain songs. But at the end of the day its just a new way to listen to a classic song so i dont mind
Whoa! I did not realize this existed. I mean, I know "Doom"; I have the BTRM earbook. But I didn't know about this NIME version. :D I gather that there is also a "Tides of War" bonustrack. What other secret goodies are there on these 2018-2019 reissues?
Imaginations from the Other Side: The Wizard, System's Failing Nightfall in Middle Earth: Doom, Harvest of Sorrow (acoustic), The Tides of War A Night at the Opera: Rough mixes of Under the Ice and Age of False Innocence The Forgotten Tales: The tracklist was outright expanded to include material all the way up to 2010.
Guys, I'm Brazilian and I don't understand English very much (I'm using Google translator), could anyone tell me what this version of the song is about. I'm a fan of Tolkien and this album, even without understanding the language and depending on translation, please help me understand this song.
I think it's about the Valar and Feanor's oath / curse. That would explain why it was cut from Nightfall in Middle-Earth; a lot is crammed in 1 song, and the subject matter was ultimately covered across The Curse of Feanor and Nightfall.
No idea why Tides of War was cut, though. It seems to be about the guilt of Maedhros and Maglor when they finally come to understand what they have done.
There are two versions of this song. One is on the limited and Japanese editions of Beyond the Red Mirror, and the other is on the 2018 remix of Nightfall in Middle Earth.
@@aledg25 might be one of the most stupid and ignorant comments i've ever seen, are you that inept of accepting criticism? i am legit one of the biggest blind guardian fans and this album just has terrible mixing, not with this song since this is from the red door but the other songs from that compilation have terrible mixing just go listen to nightfall for example it sounds so thin and all over the place
Can we talk about how mind-blowingly brilliant Hansi's vocal performance in this song is? Not that it's a bad song, but Hansi adds so much to it.
I'm a new BG fan. I didn't know that there are some songs with different versions! Nice to discover.
Look up Dead Sound of Misery! If you've listened to Fly you'll definitely see the similarities
@@nathanshepherd7277 This one I know☺️. I prefer Fly.
Also is "Harvester of Souls" similar to "At the edge of time".
Have you checked out the acoustic version of War of the Thrones?
Check out The Tides of War. Stupidly good song that you can't find anywhere
And then Turin rose again
Struck Morgoth heart, with Gurtang
In his mind, the phrase rang,
May my family's suffering not be in vain.
sounds like a nice intro for this

It is impossible for me to read that line and not think of the end of A Dark Passage
@Nobody Morgoth. Not many (powerful) people dared Valinor
And under water.
Criminally underappreciated band
Underrated??? How can it be underrated, the best and almost the only power metal band in all of power metal ???
