- Called it last night😂😂🌧. sorted alot of stuff out today not shown in the video. When do you guys call it and what do you like to do when your rained off?
Funny when I was in my 20s loved buying tools (definitely trowels) now in my 40s I bloody hate buying anything work related
Best way to tidy your van up just do emergency stop, works a treat
Great store, i used to work in new hall and we always used this shop, haven't been over that way for years great place

Narrow London is by far my favorite style trowel mines about 8’’ it’s been used so much lol
Had a few days using the 12 wide last week, brilliant trowel, much preferred over the Philadelphia pattern 😄

Great video mate! My next trowel is gonna be the narrow heeled Marshalltown London pattern (By the way, your new trowel is the wide heel London pattern according to Marshalltown's website). Also, If I'm honest, I'm quite surprised with the total amount you paid for all those tools, cheaper than I expected! Anyways, looking forward to your next upload bud! 👍😁👌⚒

My van was so crammed full of gear once that I replaced a Stihl saw I thought had been nicked. Cleared it out like you did and there was the Stihl saw I thought had been robbed, hiding under a knackered barrow.
😂😂😂fk me mate I might have replaced about 10 knifes/hammers/chisels and found them but nothing as expensive as a sthilly 😂😂 ey least you got a spares and repairs now though 😂
@@IzzytheBricky Yeah, feeling like a right prat is/was an understatement. What happened was that the side door was jammed shut when I bought the van (Citroen Berlingo) and they lowered the price because of it but a week after I bought it the door started opening again. I must've stashed it under the barrow, closed it and it jammed again and somehow forgot the Stihl was under it. I bought another one, heaped hessian on top of the barrow and left it at that. We live and learn. Claimed it back on tax though.

Good video marra.my trowel is like a ducks foot and was originally a marshalltown 12 inch. It's probably now a similar size to Charlie's 7 inch. I've just bought an ox level and find it canny but nowt like the faithful stabilla's . I tidy/clean my tranny van every other Sunday and after afew days it's a shit tip🤣......its always clean on the outside which is good for business I find.Pull up at a job in a scruffy rust bucket of a van and customers assume your work will be rough! All of those trowels would be ideal for an octopus izzy🤣take care mate.
Brilliant stuff! I've noticed that Marshalltowns wear down so fast..one usually does me 2 years before it becomes nasty to work with..unless it's just how I wear them down😂
Those skinny ox levels are lovely to work with because they're so light, but if you drop them there about done😂😂 dont know if you saw at the beginning, I walked in with my 4ft stabilla..dropped it off a scaffolding and it's got a right whip in it now😨 gonna see if there 10 year guarantee stands up😂
Good shout on keeping the van clean mate..especially on privates..let's see how long I can maintain it😂😂

Was always just one for me and hated breaking in a new one!!!
When I was constantly house bashing (for about 5 years) I only had 2 trowels that wore down to spoons, but now I'm on extensions and not really thrashing all day I like to have a play to see what I prefer 😂👌

Just bought not lonh ago the dewalt disc cutter great tool get one mate batteries do go a bit though but a brilliant tool. I couldn't comment on your post u sent me earlier kicked on it and it disappeared bloody you tube does that now and then.

Mate I saw a S wing brick hammer today for 60 quid..looked amazing..but thought to myself..I've got 4 brick hammers already...and currently dont use them..so why do you want a new one😂😂😂😉
Brilliant shop mate, we worked in Swadlincote for a year or so and was always there 😂
I asked about Blake's and they were out of stock 😨 they did have mortar stands and gator boards but the stands were 900 wide or something stupid and only had one board in😂

I always keep a tidy van but then I’m a multi trader…can’t work out of a messy van drives me bonkers! The amount of time wasted otherwise trying to find tools etc! Much nicer all clear and clean! Less stress!
Dewalt saw is a superb bit of kit buddy.
Spot on mate, used the Milwaukee one that's not too bad..was gonna save a bit of cash and probably get that dewalt one!
Dewalt is best on the market watch Concorde carpenter. He’s actually a millwauke and makita man for me he gives the best in depth reviews and tests on tools. Av had 1 for a year now and it’s a great piece of kit just waiting on the 15ah battery coming out now. Use the marcrist blade on it. But must say the dewalt blade at £40 is very also.
That trowel is a wide London pattern, my choice of pattern, I go for a W Rose trowel though.
The wide London pattern trowel, does that mean, made in the UK?
@@m101ist No, that is just the pattern, you can get broad heel, Philadelphia, wide and narrow London etc...there are UK manufacturers who make Philadelphia patterns

Its brilliant mate, I walked round for about an hour. Every brand has it's own isle and every tool type has it's own shelf. So theres a whole wall of tape measures, whole wall of trowels, claw hammers..would reccomend mate!

Ayup mate! Focus on what your passionate about. Bricklaying is a job where you never stop learning, like many other trades.
What other courses are you looking at mate? Are the courses NVQs?
@@IzzytheBricky yes mate their nvq and am planning to di level 3 diploma in construction where they teach you about bricklaying plumbing electrician carpentry and painting

Izzy I actually live in swad and didn’t know about that shop, I’ll definitely be visiting before I return to work in a few months. Also I had that London pattern trowel you picked up but left it on a garage job, someday I’ll go back and see the finished job and collect my trowel.. vans exactly the same mate, looks much smarter now you’ve tidied it 👍🏼

Got a 1911 leather handle 2 weeks ago.handle is slightly thicker than the durasoft handle.the rust that is on it is unreal.marshaltown aren't what they used to be

Nah i can't work out from a dirty van plus I have to wear clean work clothes everyday and I clean my tools end of the day terrible ocd but it's how I operate

Hi buddy! To be honest, you wouldn't want any of my old levels😂 I've abused them too much
If I were you mate, I'd buy a ox level set, very cheap and reliable 😊 and you can easily get a 20 quid trowel from Amazon which is good too. I wouldn't recommend buying 2nd hand buddy. Just for the simple fact, you'll always remember buying and using your first, very own levels and trowel, best feeling as an apprentice 😊 Have a good weekend buddy, also where as you based?
@@IzzytheBrickyin Manchester mate, just bought an ox set , nice solid levels to be fair, I’m just trying to find the best trowel for me and it’s a costly experiment at 50 quid a pop, With Marshalltown and W rose and stuff so just wanted to cheaply sample different trowels if that makes sense, but cheers for the reply anyway. Look forward to more footage, setting out blockwork would be a good video
