Love the video..just bought this gun may e 2 weeks ago...test firing it this weekend..ur video was so helpful cuz even i am a little nervous because of the polymer body ....thank you
i jus recently bought this gun and the first 2 range sessions it did not perform well, had to forward assist a lot as well had a lot of failure to feed issues as well. I changed the charge handle and the buffer tube along with the spring and weight and it feels much smoother and shoots flawless
I have this same one never shot it yet though, got it for Christmas. I appreciate you because I was thinking about taking it apart before I shoot it. Great video !!
Great review! My audiologist recommends double hearing protection both in the ear plugs and muffs. Reason she said anything over 120 decibel is permanent hearing damage. With the muzzle break you were in the 180-190 range decibel range that's why you had pain in your ears and no doubt received permanent hearing loss that day. Wear double protection always going forward. Take care
That was some good shootin Doc Holiday. I have an AR pistol with the 10.5 inch barrel its a Ruger. Only reason I didn't get an omni was the plastic upper and lower and pins. They said they were fine but I just like the idea or steel better. But it does look like a great little shooter. I put a green laser on mine then I can shoot it without getting my head down to aim it. And the laser has held up pretty good so far. God Bless brother
Ha doc,I have the same gun by ati.except I have it with a 10 and a half inch barrel, and yes if it is a 556 calber you can shoot 223 in your rifle now.mine is in 556. And all I shoot in it is 223 because 223 is all I can find right now here at a reasonable price here in Tazewell County Virginia west of you!?
Wrong. The gun is very fun to shoot. I have shot in the neighborhood of 500 rounds through mine, the exact one in this video. Love it. Of course it shoots 5.56 and .223. News flash, an AR 15 is loud!
It’s a hybrid cause it can take 223/556 I have the same exact one with the American tactical site I ran about 200 rounds of 223 thru it and didn’t have that type of impact coming out of it the stock is adjustable.. it’s a multi cal which mean you can shoot both 223 & 556
Wrong it's hybrid because it has some metal inserts at the stress points vs 100% polymer. It gives it added strength in the areas that usually fail with polymer lowers.
Hey bud......the muzzle brake is on upside down. The small port holes are supposed to be facing upwards as to push the gun down as the gasses blow through. I would get a flash can instead of the brake anayways if I was you. Forced everything out the front and away from the shooter.
What an excellent review. I'm on the fence about this one even though it's on sale for only $349 right now ( 08/28/2024 ). This video certainly helps with my decision.
I've been researching into it as I've picked this up as well, so far what I've found with feeding issues is replacing the buffer with a heavier one, I've seen 4.6 to 5 oz work well and a better buffer spring. After the replacement of that it seems to run way better
Seen a few reviews where people act like this is the biggest pos and jams almost every time. NEVER had a jam. I also have an upgraded gas chamber though so maybe that’s why but I don’t think it is. I would recommend metal over polymer though just for durability purposes. This is the only polymer AR I’d buy.
To take full advantage of your optic and your peripheral vission, you need to move it forward 4-5 more slots. It ISN'T A 'scope'. Also: your muzzle brake makes the muzzle blast MUCH WORSE. I put a KAK Micro Flash Can on mine.
Good review Doc. The flare on the magazine is also to help you reload faster. You find the port faster and if you aren’t exact putting it in it aligns you. Correct me if I’m wrong: you can put 223 ammunition into a 5.56 nato rifle but you can’t put 5.56 into a 223 rifle? Either or that barrel needs to be longer for either round. I like your idea of 9mm or 40 s and w. A flash suppressor I think would be a better brake then that muzzle brake like shabott45 suggested. Have a good one Doc. FYI you are scary accurate with your trigger weights.
Thanks brother, always appreciate your comments. All those years of delicate surgeries have trained my hands to be sensitive and to have great muscle memories LOL! God bless.
