I can’t believe people are criticizing them. It’s a “tribute” concert not a “who can copy the Beatles the best” tournament. I’m a huge Beatles fan myself and I felt overwhelmed just by the fact that the Beatles are still being remembered in such forms. It’s just that Maroon 5 plays it slightly different, by assimilating modern technology and mixing it with the retro (although I agree using auto tune was not necessary)

It was like a scratch track with just the basic drum/bass backing that you'd throw down on tape before you worked on it to actually make it good.

The whole happy energetic vibe of these songs that The Beatles used to absolutely pour out of themselves on stage is missing, and the songs fall flat.
Appreciating the effort of Maroon 5 notwithstanding, covering any Beatles tune is fraught with problems. They did a decent job, for that they can be commended
