@@loowick4074 Reminds me of playing Arma 3 on a Geforce 750 MX with 2GB of RAM at 20 FPS and then getting a Geforce 3060 GTX and just gaining 8 FPS for a 300 USD difference... almost killed myself too 😅🤣
Visually very pretty, but I tried the campaign and it just feels like a slog. Maybe I shouldn't have started with the romans though. Just felt like a drag, expensive and small armies, enemies on every side spamming armies, territories that are trash and the war weariness mechanic, which never seems to have any impact at all on enemy factions.
@@samthewanderer1074 Yeah the Romans are by far the hardest start. I started with Romano-British faction, which isn't by any means easy, but it's definitely easier than the Romans.
@@AngSco30 It makes sense historically, but from gameplay perspective it's kinda annoying not just here but Attila in general: in other TW games if you control half of the map you already won. Here you start with 1/3 of the map, how factions with 1 province could be any challenge?? The only way to make it 'interesting' is to chain the player with bunch of scripts, and artificial and arbitrary 'mechanics' (like from Paradox games). So your main adversary are not enemy empires but these 'mechanics', implemented against the player only. I guess one solution is 'not play as the Romans' - but I like playing as the Romans 😀

5:35 more mods should do that when it comes to scripted invasions, instantly losings settlements is very annoying in Total War. Athough I guess, of course, in the case of historical events where local troops also joined the rebellions or invaders it makes sense (I remember the old Roma Surrectum II Mod having a script for Italian allies rebelling against Rome and helping Hannibal)
@@kiransarat7743 last time I've checked (not recently tbh) they were more busy implementing their own 'ideas' (very debatable most of them). Most people didn't want 'complete remake', just more polished version (less bugs basically). AE was already great, just not finished.
The Lombard invasion SHOULD be punishing. The Bizanyine occupation was done for and there was no imperial garrisons outside of Rome and Italy: cities much preferred the Lombard occupation over the predatory imperial taxation and the Gothic wars, plus the Giustinian pest, had reduced the population of Italy to less then half what it was in the times of Theodoric the Great. Making it easier for the Bizantines (as they u were called after the death of Narses) is just non historical and easy mode.
The units armory and weapons should’ve been more customizable, including larger units size, which was precisely what I imagined it to be. I know it’s kind of cringe geeking out an old game, seriously the developers did an absolute terrible job, the modding community is singlehanded holding up this game. I would’ve never bought Attila if not for the mods , same with Rome 2, Napoleonic, and Empire 🤡 These developers are out of touch with their historical fantasy base, we want realistic, practical, and historical game.
I love the mod, but the 2.0 version has many bugs that need to be fixed. I like playing as the Britanni (because who doesn't like King Arthur?), but their Legio Britones unit (which is a banger) is missing its torso and helmet plumes. This, among other things is why I still play on 1.0. However, I love your videos, and the mod itself. Your videos about the mods are so informative, and that is why I'm subscribed. Keep up the good work!
Sorry, I had my computer on without headphones, so this moment was even funnier. Around 6:10, the Terminator just says, "Losing cities was such a pain in the ass." Due to the fact he sounds so tame and scholar-like, and that he never curses, it made that moment hilarious.
The missing textures are actively being added by the developer of the mod, that's why there will be several updates in the coming days. But currently some files are too big to be uploaded in bulk
2.0 is actually in beta version, it’s in the mod description. Bugs will big fixed for the définitive release of 2.0, they are multiples update to the beta version to fix the missing texture.
First time playing a MOD other than 1212AD, and I am HOOKED! Thanks Terminator for the video. I just have one complaint, it has Armenia as Zoroastrian. Kind of annoying considering Armenia was officially a Christian state in 328AD. I just end up converting to Greek Christianity after 6 or 7 turns. But it would be nice for them to start off as Christians.
absolutely love total war Atilla, have played this mod it was alot of fun. wonder if it's worth trying again. i was only a few months ago i played through.
Hello, friend! Amazing mod. Could ask you a question? I play Attila in a 27" 1440p monitor with DLDSR 1.78. Great antialiasing, but UI is too small. Do you know any mod for make UI bigger in Attila? Specially for 4k
man when dose the lombard and avar event trigger? I am almost 50 turns in and no sight of them. they made the game too easy honestly, they should add some event that's similar to the plague of justinian.
3:55 the one thing that makes the Romans unplayable for me is their flag; I want a Phoenix design like in vanilla Attila TW. I want to convert to Roman Paiganism. It would look awful to have this flag and being Paigan...
saw this video and went in with high expectations - started a campaign with the crimean goths that are converted to christianity - built a church - recruit agent priest... it's a woman :( these guys can get 1000 units historically right but not the fact that there are no women priests in christianity

What mod are you using for your unit sizes being larger than ultra?
The battles in Attila are by far the best powerpoint presentations I've ever seen
This killed me😂 but there is a mod that brings Thrones of Britannia optimization, to attila, works alot bette

28 fps

Arma3 optimization is also ass xD i play with a i7 10870H and a nvidia rtx 3060 and my fps are both in arma and attilla (with mods) are f'd up
My favourite Attila mod by a mile. I find it hard to stick with most TW campaigns these days, but with AoJ they're a joy.

Played it on your recommendation. It has been the most fun I have had with an Attila campaign in awhile.
I didn't know how to play with such a big faction like the Western Roman Empire but this video convinced me to give it another try with the mod
I love this mod! Had so much fun retaking all the old imperial lands
YOOOOO GOD SENT T! I am now halting my campaign in DEI, to march for my Attila bread and butter!
perfect timing. i hope it will fasten the time until lotr mod with campaign will come :D

Ancient Empires mod

Try Classical empires. A new team took over Ancient Empires and is continuing hopefully.

I want a scenario where Belisarius Rebel and turn himself into new Emperor
Don't you have an option for that in the belisarius campaign?
@@samthewanderer1074 I guess he wants that option in this mod, very different from the Last Roman DLC
I'd like to see different models for generals and faction leaders and not just the same ones each time they die

Some map additions are actually considered
Nice to see one of the best mods for Attila getting such a good update!
i dont think its a massive one, yet a quality improving

Heh, I just started a game of Age of Justinian last night, not with the 2.0. Hope save file works!
can you compare this mode with Fireforge Empire mod ? How slower / faster battles? is AI more or less aggressive on strategy map?
Fireforged Empires is more punishing. Very much a DEI inspired mod. If playing as ERE or WRE, you need to be on point to survive.
The worst thing about this mod is starting date, why oh why in 555? It would be much better to start at the beginning of his rule not the end.
Anno Domini Team also make update for 919 at least
What the world would look like if the Justinian plague and great famine never happened....

I have never played this mode of Total War, is the Byzantine army as strong as the Roman army in Total War?
They need to revert the cavalry changes. Now a cataphract charge is a wet noodle.

AOJ is decent mod surely!
may you tell me what music did you use for intro?

Not until it gets reuploaded on Steam. One of the dev's who worked on it, decided to stop modding and removed it from the workshop.

Are you sure that’s supposed to be 2.0? I remember playing Age of Justinian 2.0 way back in 2017. Or are those different mods?
I hope the Bulgarians are included?
Seems to be some reverb in the sound quality fyi
Thanks mate I’ll look into it! ❤️
