Thanks for the video! I followed your disassembly and was able to clear the jam on my cd changer... for me it was the gear rolling the cd reader front and back that was dislocated, I rotated the gear back in it's original position and the cd changer was able to move in and out between the different magazines! 👍👍
Hi Sam nice to hear that! Sounds like your CDC is able to work a bit longer. I am planning to install Apple CarPlay decoder to my E90 and the device I am going to use has to occupy the CDC's place in the MOST loop, in order to send sound signals digitally. Maybe someday you will need this too. Stay tuned!
Hi Norby thank you for the comment! I am happy you succeeded :) I found out that coding-in of the CD changer is also needed for such application: installation of Apple CarPlay screen: www.mr12volt.com/products/p2000-cccmd which sends digital sound signal via the MOST circuit. I'm interested in this interface so perhaps I need to code the CD changer again :D
Thank you! Do you know what needs to be coded to also remove the navigation? I removed all modules from the back left of the trunk and I am running and aftermarket amplifier
Hi Dawson! I haven't done with removing the navigation on my car but I did a quick look into the related modules. For me, I found CAPPL and CHOST having settings/options about navigation. I suppose the method will be the same, code VO first then the above two modules. What is your car model and headunit? The options may vary. You are very welcome to provide more info so we can dig into it. By the way, if you had Top-HiFi sound system (HK Logic 7 or Individual), you must be running the current amplifier on the MOST circuit. Thus we have to keep the VO (676 for L7, 677 for Ind) and the options for the current sound system to work.
@@funcarsgoodpeople Thank you. I have a 2006 E90 335i with the normal Hifi system and the MATCH UP &BMW amplifier is plug and play, connected to the MOST circuit.
Hello Dawson, I took a look at the MATCH UP 7BMW amp and this is interesting! I also realized that the this plug & play amp does not use the MOST bus because it does not have fiber optic ports. Thus, you don't have to worry about coding the amplifiers. The headunit will see this amp as original equipment. What modules other than the amp did you have in the left of the trunk? If you don't mind sending me the VIN via email: funcarsgoodpeople@gmail.com I can look up the vehicle option for you.
Hi Tom, yes exactly! After installing all the hardware, write VO $672 to the CAS and the NFRM. Then code CAPPL and CHOST. Your car knows you have a CD changer!
This has been very helpful. Thank you so much for taking the effort. I’m planning to remove the tv module as well as the amplifier in the back. Basically clear the whole unit in the left trunk. Do you know what are the codes t code these out?
Hello Zoohere thank you for the comments too! I use the information for my E90 for your reference; *TV module:* Remove the module and close MOST loop. Remove VO/FA $601 from CAS and NFRM. Code nicht_aktive for VIDEOMODUL_CCC_B, TV_FRONT_ENABLED. *Amplifier:* You car must be HiFi or higher (Logic 7 or Individual) to have the amplifier. Thus you have to remove VO/FA $676 (or $677 or $752) from CAS and NFRM. Because there are too many options to code in the related modules, I guess it's easier to default-code CAPPL, CAUDI, CGATE and CHOST after changing the VO. These modules will automatically configure themselves. However if you remove the amplifier, all the speakers in the cabin will have no sound. Are you doing a track car project? 😁😁😁
Hi Nightmarish I read some articles using a thin/flat stick to go inside of the #CDchanger to push/move it mechanisms. If a tray is stuck, the actuator has to move properly to restore the tray, then the magazine can come out. As you see in the video, the actuator can stop working for no reason. So you can try pressing the eject button to make the CDC move. Try a few times to see if it moves by any chance. Try knocking on the CDC to allow gears move. There are chances the trays can be restored but the magazine still gets stuck. Use a long thin/flat stick to push open the magazine's lock (7:41) and it can be ejected. If that actuator arm doesn't move (as shown in the video,) disassembly is necessary. Good luck and let us know how if it works for you! Carl
Hi maxlee yes, you can skip coding, but you will need to bypass the CD changer with an fibre optic (available on net) to keep the MOST loop intact/closed. Or you can refer to 12:05 to reconfigure the MOST hub to bypass the CD changer. Otherwise there will be no sound when the MOST loop being open.
Hi Sohail! You are right! That's an speedy fix but I really hate the fault codes 😠 and seeing inoperative parts on the vehicle. Thank you for the comment anyway 🤗 Come back often!
i have a problem with my cdc,my sound is working but i don t recevine sound from cdc, it is working (i have fiber optic, minutes are going in the navigation, it s showing up,but no sound)worked some days ago, any help?
Hi Norby, can you play the same CD from the head unit? If not the problem of the CD, then there might be something wrong inside the CDC. A lot of articles suggest cleaning the laser head carefully. Since the timecode is shown, I guess the CDC is working, but maybe CD format is wrong? Can the CDC play another music CD (official music CD?)
@@funcarsgoodpeople From the cd player in the dash board it work, the same CD worked , time code is going, but one day i got my keys out of the ignition , reinserted and the sound from cdc is gone but the time code is moving...
Hi Norby I guess the CDC just broke down. It can read the CD but maybe the digital-analog converter circuit just broke down so there’s no sound output. Can you remove your CDC and put it on another car to try?
That is the best explained coding video I ever saw Thanks for time you took to teach😄👍

My cd2 tray is stuck inside. Is there a way to get it to reset without disassembling everything?

i don’t have a need for anything to do with cd so can i just unplug it all and leave the amp plugged in ?

Isn't it easy to buy a fiber optic loop and close the CDC with it
