Nova Scotia has so much to see and do! Kejimkejik shouldn't be missed (both the National Park and the Adjunct) if you're headed that direction. Wolfville is amazing. Blomiden is a wonderful spot. Scot's Bay near Cape Split is a must see. I could go on and on and on... Enjoy one of our favourite places ever.
We should have gotten your suggestions before our trip. Not sure we made all of them but we will put them on the list for next time. There are so many great places to visit in Nova Scotia.
Spent the first 10 yrs of retirement traveling the US in an 18 ft Jayco from our home base in Fl best years of our lives. Enjoy your videos and thanks for sharing your adventures
As I watch your videos and see the places you take us, I thank God for creating such a beautiful place for us to live. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels.
OMgoodness, so beautiful. Like the drine footage. You have had some great boondocking spots. Definitely a savings, which is nice especially on a long trip. The Oven was really interesting and beautiful. 🙂👍
What nice beautiful place Peggy’s Cove to visit. That’s a unique name the Ovens. That’s a nice place as well. I live the spots you’ve picked to boon docked at. Very beautiful areas. Great video! Have a great weekend and Labor Day too! Don’t labor on that day because that’s what that’s for. Lol! Love you both and Maggie! ❤🤗
You guys make the best video . The colours of the rocks is amazing!! Scenery just beautiful!! Interesting to see all that you seen in this area !! Thank you for sharing this with me. BS & BK & BC !!!
Bonjour! Funny because we just went on vacation to New Brunswick, we visited Hopewell rocks just after I saw your video on it, then took Confederation bridge to PEI just after your video but got to Madeleine islands with the ferry. I saw 2 Ekko and told my wife "maybe it's Owen Lynn and Maggie" and I was almost creepy staring at them... 😆 take care and "bonne journée"!
We would have loved to see you on the road. Our videos are several weeks behind, but that is funny you went to the same places we were showing the week before. Thanks so much for your comment.
LOVE NS! I know this will too late but there is a lovely hat shop called The Hat Junkie in Lunenburg where Anna makes all the hats by hand. I own several! And check out Mahone Bay. Also a lovely town.
All the colourful fishing boats bobbing around in the harbour were beautiful to see. I imagine during Summer it could be quite a challenge finding a nice place to boondock. Thanks for sharing!
We loved watching all the different colored boats with their matching dory boats coming in and out of the area. We didn’t really have an issue finding good boondocking spots.
Nova Scotia has become a popular tourist spot in the last few years. And Peggy's Cove is one of the most popular tourist stops since it is not far from Halifax.
In 2019 we visited Peggy’s Cove, beautiful place, lots of photogenic places. The wind was blowing so hard we didn’t stay long. The Ovens was a neat place also, didn’t like the rickety wooden railings along the trail. Don’t think US OSHA would have approved them but the views were beautiful. Enjoy your adventure.
A number of years ago my mother and her sister took a bus from Virginia to Nova Scotia to see the fall foliage. One of their stops was in Peggy’s Cove. She loved it there. Couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful it was.
Absolutely Beautiful! Wow! You have mastered videography, editing, and telling a story. Hope to someday make it to the right coast from the left coast. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey. ❤
Thanks for the video. I found that Halifax seems to have an unusual road system so I can relate to your struggles getting the into the correct lanes... I've only been there a couple times but seems like inefficient transportation designs...Happy travels.
It is a knock of the Trasharoo, we have it in our Amazon store, here’s a link if you are interested www.amazon.com/shop/VanTrekkingLifestyle. We haven’t had it long so I’m not sure how it’s going to hold up.
Hi Owen, Lynn & Maggie, we always enjoy your videos and tips. Keep them coming :) … My husband and I recently purchased our 2023 EKKO and still trying to figure out the necessities we need. We also just ordered our Starlink and I noticed on this video that you have a mast as a set up for your Starlink. Where did you purchase this mast? Is it permanent on your EKKO? Thank you so much for the information… Safe travels! - Ben & Dinty, from Surprise, AZ.
We purchased the mast on Amazon, it’s called a flag buddy. It’s in our Amazon store, where the link if you are interested www.amazon.com/shop/VanTrekkingLifestyle. It’s made setting up starlink so easy, it is not permanent but Owen can set it up in the time I put the shades up in the front. Good luck with your Ekko.
I know what you mean about the traffic in Halifax. Three weeks ago we drove our campervan there and rented a Uhaul to help our daughter move back to NB. I had to drive the van thru rush hour morning traffic while hubby drove the Uhaul. Couldn't wait to get out of there lol. Did you happen to drive thru Mahone Bay on your way to Lunenburg?
I think we were just a little shocked when we went into Halifax, it was so different than what we had been doing in all the small little towns. This weeks video is in Lunenburg.
What I enjoy about being down east is the minimal tourist traps/vendors. Mostly beautiful, peaceful and the greatest people. The worst tourist trap you could go to in Canada is Niagara Falls, they turned that place into a three ring circus and ruined it. Consider scale to rate places from 1 to 10 for tourist traps, Niagara would be a 10. Most of the places down east maybe a 1 or 2.
The more you camp the less you like the big cities. Y'all took us to some beautiful places on this video. Thank you for all the work you do. Happy tails and safe travels.
When you get home, could you share what the expense breakdown was for this trip? Interested in doing a similar trip next year and wonder how I can make it more economical, if possible. Also can you talk about how difficult it was to find refueling stations and provide any tips. Did you have to plan refills? I have a gas van. Difficult to find dump stations for the gray tank or laundry facilities? Have a cassette toilet so not worried about that aspect. Did you find you needed to use cash and have to exchange US currency there for Canadian or did you use credit cards mainly? Do you need different adapters for an electrical or water hookup? Thank you for your insight.
We use an app called iOverlander that helps us find free places to stay. The app also shows places you can get dump your tanks. Some times we will go to a campground and ask if we can use there facilities, and most of the time they will for a small fee.
Enjoying your trip and thank you for including us on your trip to Nova Scotia. In 2001 I had planned a 2 week camping trip with my pop up tent trailer to Nova Scotia by way of the catamaran from Bar Harbor, ME. We were a little early to go to the campground we had reserved for the night so we could arrive early the next morning to catch the ferry. So we decided to go by the port to get more information and to check our reservation. As I entered the ticket counter there was a buzz of activity going on. It was then that I found what had happened in NY-9/11/2001. Also they had closed the port so the ferry to Nova Scotia had been cancelled. My vacation was cut short and I returned home - 1,100 miles. I did find out later that they did open the port up. Both myself and copilot had our passports with us. To this day I wished we had stay until they opened the port.
So did you fill your Ekko water tank at that beautiful $12 campground without paying for the site or paying anything for their water?😢...then drive around burning gas so you could find a free site? 😢
We were really enjoying the video, until you stole water from the campground near Lunenburg. Maybe asking the campground if you could filled your water tank would have been a better option-more honest. The campground is likely the owner’s livelihood and your channel is teaching people it okay to just take it.
This trip keeps getting better. Blown away by all the boondocking opportunities in that area, definitely a plus..........Happy Trails 🦮🦮
We’ve been blown away too. Finding awesome boondocking spots was part of the fun.

Hi Owen, Lynn and Maggie! So happy to see you all! Another great video! Thank you for inviting us! Happy Tails! 😎💕🙏
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Another great video with. Great music
Thanks, we appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Beautiful lighthouse and caves!!!
Few people realize that the Post Office box beside the museum/ gift shop has " Hand Cancelled Stamps" on all postcards. A must for stamp collectors
the cancellation is of the lighthouse, it is the only one in Canada
Thank you for the great information. We appreciate you sharing.
OMgoodness, so beautiful. Like the drine footage. You have had some great boondocking spots. Definitely a savings, which is nice especially on a long trip. The Oven was really interesting and beautiful. 🙂👍

That’s great you found a lot of boondocking spots. I wonder why so many were available. It’s a beautiful country.
What a nice spot to boon dock at that first spot you went too! Beautiful area!
We loved that first place so much we stayed two nights. Thanks so much for watching.
Love your videos. Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Halifax Nova Scotia. It is the resting place of many Titanic victims.
Interesting, thanks for sharing.

I think it was just so different than what we were use to it was a shock. I do wish we had explored the city more when it wasn’t if 5 o’clock traffic.
You made it to Nova Scotia! looking forward to your videos.
It is such a special place. Thank you for all the great recommendations.

Hi, really enjoying your trip to Canada! Would like to know your play list for this video, “Halifax Traffic”, etc. God bless U. 🙏🏽🐾🚙

We enjoyed it very much.
I should have mentioned that we were tent camping when we stayed there...that was before we even thought about buying a van

So did you fill your Ekko water tank at that beautiful $12 campground without paying for the site or paying anything for their water?😢...then drive around burning gas so you could find a free site? 😢
Actually it's $69 per night plus the $24 entry fee. Lynn actually asked about getting water and was told it was ok.
