I agree with Major Sweets. It’s too chaotic to pay much attention to the sets. There is always someone in your face and constant loud banging, so that your senses are overloaded and it’s hard to focus on anything else. However, I would still rate it higher.
My ranking is a bit different but I do agree with your number 1 house, this was my first ever HHN and honestly it was a great experience overall. Did all of the houses and Insidious The Further still lives rent free in my head. Got to do it twice and is easily the scariest house. The fact that you entered the house through a gigantic red door made it for me THE house of HHN 33.
Insidious is easily the best house at this years HHN. Had incredible scares and the detail was great representing the 5 films. In 2nd I had A Quiet Place due to how interesting it was with it being all quiet and the puppets of the Death Angels. But dam, Universal had balls to involve both a dead dog in Triplets of Terror and a baby getting ripped in half in Monstruos
I totally agree with what you said about Eternal Bloodlines. My friend works in that house and I've been through it twice and have yet to see her scare
The Ghostbusters House is a lot of fun. Great production quality with the excellent costumes and sets, and some fun scares and interactive bits. It’s not the scariest but it’s definitely entertaining
Insidious was ranked low for me, simply due to the issue of not knowing much of anything about Insidious. The house was fantastic and I enjoyed certain scenes (liked the different mannequin mazes), but for me storyline is important as well. Since I don't know much about Insidious, I didn't feel invested in what I was walking throughout. Perhaps my opinions would be better if I had know about Insidious more. That is why most of the original houses this year were much better in my experience for me.
Putting major sweets last is so insane to me it’s like no one understands the art behind it not only is it colorful with a great story but also every character is iconic and just makes sense I’ve never been in a house as good as major sweets every part from beginning to end has really good scares… not only does it deserve to be the first on this list but it also deserves to be in the conversation for top 5 houses in the history of HHN the set is amazing it’s like going through an actual factory and it also has some parts that actually smell like candy it’s top tier
3:56 Walked through this house (Hollywood version) and this statement is so true. Seemed like everything was going so smoothly and then she just gets her head ripped off out of nowhere. Took me out of the story for sure but I still enjoyed the house edit: You’re telling me there was no scene of this in the Orlando house? I feel a little bit better now
Museums isn’t confusing at all. They do a great job explaining it before the house. It’s a rotting stone that possessed everything. Not hard to get. But the other houses, yeah I can agree.
I was really disappointed by The Museum. As someone who works in one you can absolutely do a lot more with the concept. You’re right on the money that it felt to cramped for a museum.
Agree on most except Goblins feast. It’s one of my bottom houses. I do not know what it is if we just did not get the scares at the right time but I got bored and so did the rest of my party.
Slaughter Cinema 2 a triumph for us. A great house with some great scenes. We got a really good run through of Bloodlines too so have this high in the ranking. Sadly Triplets was a fail for us but overall we enjoyed all the houses this year. All had merit.
So nice to meet you and Ellison on premium scream night! You 2 were so nice and my friend and I really appreciated it! I still need to watch that video def looking forward to it. I will be back in a few weeks with my husband for more HHN so interested to see how my current ranking changes after 6 or 7 days of more HHN.
This was my list, houses first followed by scare zones 1. Insidious: The Further 2. A Quiet Place 3. Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines 4. Slaughter Sinema 2 5. Major Sweet’s Candy Factory 6. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire 7. Monstrous: Monsters of Latin America 8. Goblins Feast 9. The Museum: Deadly Exhibits 10. Triplets of Terror 1. Swamp of the Undead 2. Torture Faire 3. Demon Queens 4. Enter the Blumhouse 5. Duality of Fear That said, every part of this year’s event hit with me. I just liked some things better than others. I don’t know when I’ll make it back, but I definitely want to do it again!
I do agree with your ranking but I’d flip major sweets and eternal bloodlines. I’m surprised there are only 3 scare actors in the curtain room in insidious and I will say that house will go into my top 10 houses I’ve ever done the the event!
Maybe I’m crazy, but I didn’t find Insidious very scary at all. I haven’t seen the movies, so the main scary guy just reminds me of a discount Darth Mall, partnered with the Bride of Frankenstein if she was hit by a car. The sound bite in the first room of “He’s got DaBaby” took me out the environment for the rest of the house. I even had the triple scare (which usually hit me the hardest) at the end line up just right, and it fell flat. I think it’s the longest house, which if you’re scared will make it seem even scarier. But for me it made it goofier. Where is Darth Maul’s silly uncle going to pop out next?
Totally agree on Insidious being one of the greatest houses in recent years, especially as an IP house, but my favorite one for this year has got to be Monstruous. Seriously the most incredible monster design that I can remember at HHN. So beautifully scary! I also really enjoyed Slaughter Sinema 2, it’s like sketch horror vignettes that are really easy to follow along in each room and you don’t miss out on the whole story if you miss one detail/scare. The shark wasn’t moving when I passed by it though, and that was sort of a bummer.
I’d say my list goes as 10. Triplets 9. Museum 8. Major Sweets 7. Slaughter Sinema 6. Quiet Place 5. Ghostbusters 4. Universal Monsters 3. Goblins Feast 2. Monstruos 1. Of course, Insidious
Triplets ended up being in my top three because of the scare actors. The two times I went through, they were on it. Also in my top three would be Slaughter Sinema 2. I need a house based around the punk skellies.
@@rschaen Totally. For me, Harmony's character design was one of the best originals they've done in a while. The scare actors playing her loved the role. Side note, I loved the rain effect at the start of the house too.
Today was my first HHN. I think Insidious had the best pacing and atmosphere, and the ending scare got me but it wasn’t consistently scary for the wait time. Frozen Empire had great sets and it had moments but it was a bit loud and annoying which became a consistent theme for the rest of the houses. Overall sadly I didn’t think HHN was worth it. The local houses, mazes, and hayrides I grew up with were much scarier than HHN but that could just be a regional thing. The IP was carrying heavy and the scares lacked creativity imo. That being said nothing was bad, just disappointed given the hype. The stage show was amazing though!
major sweets was… interesting? but i could NOT figure out what the story was or what was going on. my dad and i agreed that all the noise was more frustrating than anything else, too - i wish people would realise loud doesn’t equal scary.
Solid rank! But goblins #2 over monstrous? Nah that’s a big disagree. Went through goblins and monstrous twice and both times monstrous definitely delivered, I ranked it #2. Goblins definitely underperformed. It’s definitely bottom of the list next to major sweet
Speaking from experience, If you’re going in for scares and horror yeah it’s not scary at ALL. But if you love some goblins being nuisances, it’s really entertaining. The set was really good as it was made by the same guy who designed Dead Man’s Pier (one of the greatest of all time).
I'd say "A QuIet Place" is the scariest house this year for one reason: They put in corn. For those who don't know, there's a superstition that if HHN puts corn in one of their houses, a storm's going to hit Florida.
I actually skipped all the IP houses this year. Insidious looked good I just never really cared about the movies, so I skipped it. But I felt like the originals were pretty good, I definitely think Slaughter Sinema 2, Triplets of Terror, and the Latin America house were probably the best of the originals this year and arguably better than a majority of the IP houses. And for as scary as Insidious looked, it definitely didnt have the imagery the Latin America house did. Like dude they ate a babys brain in that house, I didn't even think they'd ever go that far at Universal.
Respectfully, I completely disagree with your entire list I can’t speak on past years because this is my first time attending the event, however, as a previous scare actor that doesn’t scare easy, I was going in with different expectation. My List from best to worst: Slaughter Sinema 2-10/10 Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines-9/10 Insidious: The Further-8/10 Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire-7/10 Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America- 7/10 The Museum: Deadly Exhibits- 6/10 Major Sweets’ Candy Factory-5/10 A Quiet Place-5/10 Triplets of Terror-4/10 Goblin’s Feast-2/10
@@VincentVision i feel such as food preferences and works of art and such, all these houses appeal to all people differently. Ive seen so many rankings that vary greatly from one to another. Costumes aren’t allowed if they’re too extravagant or could be confused for performers in the park. I’ve seen people wearing Party City type stuff
Triplets of terror might be the worst horror nights house in a long time Universal really swung and miss with the opportunity of FNAF
