"From Sand Hill: With Love" is a compelling narrative that weaves together the raw, transformative journey of Daniel Lucier, a young recruit undergoing basic training at Fort Benning, with the poignant, heartfelt experiences of his family back home. Set against the rigorous backdrop of military discipline and the challenges of adapting to a new way of life, the story delves deep into themes of growth, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of human connections.
As Daniel grapples with the physical and emotional demands of his training, his family navigates their own landscape of longing, pride, and adjustment to the absence of a loved one. The story is richly layered with vivid accounts of the strenuous routines at Fort Benning, the drill sergeants' tough love approach, and the camaraderie that blossoms among recruits facing common trials. Intertwined with these are the letters from home-lifelines of encouragement, news, and familial affection that bridge the distance between two very different worlds.
Through the lens of personal struggle and triumph, "From Sand Hill: With Love" offers an intimate glimpse into the sacrifices and dedication of those who choose to serve, and the families who support them from afar. It is a testament to the power of love and support to transcend the toughest of barriers, illuminating the human capacity for adaptation, courage, and unwavering loyalty. This story not only honors the journey of a soldier but also pays homage to the unseen battles and victories of those who wait, hope, and keep the home fires burning.

"Personnel Other Than Grunts" is a riveting memoir that traces the author's journey from Fort Benning Georgia to a distinguished motor transport operator in the U.S. Army. The story begins with a foreword detailing the author's pre-military life, leading up to basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, in the rigorous Sand Hill area, within the 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment. The narrative follows his transition to the deserts of Kuwait and the battlefields of Iraq.
Deployed with the 494th Transportation Company, the author is thrust into the heart of the global war on terror, participating in the largest ground attack convoy in history with the 101st Airborne Division. From the tactical operations at Talil Air Force Base to the humanitarian missions in Mosul, the memoir captures the essence of life on the front lines, marked by camaraderie, loss, and the harrowing reality of war. The tragic death of his friend David T. Nutt and a subsequent altercation force a transfer to the 541st Transportation Company, where he faces relentless attacks in the Sunni Triangle, earning the ARCOM with Valor for his bravery.
"Personnel Other Than Grunts" is more than a military memoir; it's a profound exploration of growth, resilience, and transformation, offering an intimate look at the sacrifices and challenges faced by those who serve beyond the front lines.

I have a VIP ticket for the Kansas City show and I can't go anymore. I can't find a good way to resell the ticket either. :(
I was there on Friday, this show was so amazing! I got to meet them backstage, because my husband grew up with the bassist, Robbie! Thank you so much for posting this!
That's too 😎!
You're so lucky! Meeting them is number one on my bucket list. Awesome!!
@sherylann1907 Robbie is my favorite Godsmack member. I wore a t-shirt at a show in Austin, Texas back in August that read "ROBBIE IS THE GOAT" They were playing I Stand Alone and Sully saw my shirt and elbowed Robbie and pointed me out. Then Sully called me to the stage and he took my shirt and put it on Robbie's back. I handed Robbie a sharpie marker and he walked to the side of the stage and signed it for me. All, right in the middle of I Stand Alone.
I was at this show the best concert I've ever been to.
Thx for posting this, my wife & I were at the show and it was outstanding. Great mix of Godsmack tunes and a couple killer covers. Opened with Pink Floyd, then Led Zeppelin later, Metallica, and closing with Doobie Brothers! This show was sooooo great!!

I was there!!! First time seeing Godsmack a fan since 98!!! We love you Sully and all the guys that make it happen!!!
That was me hollering freebird lol
Thank you for posting the show. I wanted to go so badly, but had no ride and no one to help me in the theater. I am hemiplegic and require a lot of assistance. It would not have been a good thing no matter how bad I wanted to see them.
Hey there! It's awesome you got to catch the show on my video. I'm sorry to hear things haven't been going well for you lately. I genuinely wish things were looking up for you. You know, I sometimes get comments from folks asking why I'd spend money just to watch a concert through my phone. But hearing from people like you who say, "Hey, I got to experience the concert because of your recording, and I wouldn't have had the chance otherwise," that really means a lot to me. It feels great knowing I could bring that experience to others. So, I'm really glad you appreciated being able to see the show. Take care!
I just randomly looked up shows for this.. found 2nd row... bought immediately!!! See u guys Wednesday!
My first time witnessing this awesomeness in person. Our Bama crowd was jamming and having a blast! No one in my area was sitting 😂 7th row center , amazing. I’ve seen a ton of shows over the decades and this is definitely one I will not be forgetting ❤
Glad you had a good time. This was definitely a unique opportunity , and I won't soon forget either.

I love Sully and Godsmack! My husband would love this - he loves Pink Floyd
That's allot of love going around 😂
I’ll be going on the 27th! Can’t wait. Seen countless heavy shows by them so I’m excited for a different experience 😁
Godsmack coming to Arizona in a few weeks, April 6th to perform at Bike Week in Scottsdale! Cannot wait
Awesome show, Love it when he talks to the audience.
I was at this concert. Great show.
That mix sounds amazing the FOH engineer did a great job
It was amazing!!! Loved it!!
love to see some of these covers on a record. Time was amazing!!
That'd be cool.
Thanks for posting this. I was at this show with my son, and only got a little video. The sound was incredible! \m/
Very welcome! Yes, the Mahaffey sounds incredible!
We were there too. Absolutely amazing ❤❤❤
Freaking amazing show, just wish I was there, I did see them in Hartford CT I think in 2016 with Offspring and they had a drum battle at the end and Sully kicked ass, that was an amazing show too
What a mind blowing cover of No Quarter
Shannon Hatman Larkin is a beast on drums.
Can’t wait for Denver show 🎉
That light show is phenomenal!! My hubs and i absolutely LOVE godsmack! Under your scars is one of our songs!
Under your scars was my favorite but as soon as I watched the video to truth it was like a complete instant favorite hands down
Thank you for posting this! I’m watching it now. There aren’t any Vibez shows near me. Next best thing ❤
Very welcome!
Thanks for posting your video. I should have gone to see the show. Probably their last tour.
Sully and the band definitely deserve a break and down time they've rocked my world since voodoo was released my sophomore year! And his low key openess in the usage of symbols in his show leaves much to be respected! Do what you will harming none, be blessed, much love and light to y'all! Rest but keep rocking! 🥰🔥❤️ smbo
@@JoyStrother-vn7ch High, After watching this video for the second time. I really regret not attending!
I was most definitely an impressive show, I've never seen them live, but would love to, sad I missed out on Aerosmith this year and another, Elton John I believe recently formally retired as well, and wanted badly to see their farewell shows also. However, I was fourteen or fifteen when voodoo was released and I fell in love with Godsmack, Sully's voice is all the way hypnotic and the lyrics are like wonderland to Alice for me I just totally get lost and enter a whole level of dimension with his music from crying like a bitch and 1000 hp to the more solemn serenity, under your scars, nothing else matters etc. hes gonna all the way be a Micheal jackson george jones beatles janis skynard legendary icon one day!
They did recently announce some regular shows for the summer.
Thanks for video man !!
\m/
Greatest band ever
BAD ASS!!!
Hell yeah Aubrey!! You ROCK!!! 🤘
Nice story little girl has, what did he say about it? Give a big fuckin warm welcome.
They should have surrender in the list instead of covers
Might be the first time they've played Spiral??!!
No, it has been played several times, best live performance was around 2001 on Worcester.
I mean they have been touring for 20+ years. The fans are old.
You put them with Disturbed and Creed… You would sell out stadiums. Just saying.
those gears look familiar are from lionsgate pictures
This may be true. Internet?
The Audio mix is good. But the kick drum has way too much click in it…..distracts from the vocals
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Do they do the drum battle
Nope. There's a little show-off thing they do during a jam towards the end, but it's not a full out battle.
Not in concert there doing things a little bit different this year to get back to the whole vibe
Half the reason i bought the tickets
@flights47 sorry dude that sux.
What a shit show. I had the privilege of seeing these guys in Orlando in 2019 at Earthday Birthday and it was incredible, heavy and deafening.
What the heck is this...that is not Godsmack. That is like them toned way down. That show would have disappointed me. If you heard them from the beginning.
It was advertised this way... we all expected a toned down Godsmack - That's what's what we paid for...
that’s literally the whole point. hence why it’s called the “Vibez tour” it’s supposed to be mellow and not a full rock show. they just did a full heavy tour 😂
High vibrations
God smack was a rock band not sure what happened here . People are just setting down 🤔
It's the way they want this tour they want to get back to the whole roots of wat music is and how it's supposed to feel that's y it's the vibez tour let them have a "recovery" year
That sucks
Thanks, I just confirmed rock is officially dead.
Almost fell asleep watching this terrible
Well…….bye
My teenage daughter also enjoys Taylor Swift, you should stick to those concert videos.
Pay all that money to watch a concert through your phone ...sad
This was the cheesiest shit I've ever seen. This band is just completely bereft of ideas, almost of cliches.
Appreciate you posting this show. I caught the show in Lake Charles February 24th from Row 4 and it's even better up close. I didn't record the whole set because I did that from the pit when I saw them in Austin last year, August 31 with Staind. It's on my channel here. Wanted to relax for this one. I knew there would be lots of visuals. 🤘🎸🪘🥁🌞
