I saw Elvis in concert at the end of Oct with the Philharmonic Orchestra (sent you a video) Got to say I hate it when anybody adjusts Elvis’ music as I want to hear it how he chose to record it. I was left a bit disappointed. So gutted I missed my opportunity to see Elvis’ old band in concert with Elvis on big screen because that is how Elvis should sound to me. I know everybody has different opinions and that’s just mine. I prefer Elvis’ music the way he chose it to be ❤️
I totally get what you're saying. I listen to Elvis whenever my spirits are low or if im especially stressed and need to chill. His gospel music is the only secular music i will listen to. With just few exceptions. Here and there. But Elvis brings me to church every time. He makes me feel it in my soul and can often bring me to tearrs. The fact that he affects you in the same ways, just further explains that God made him special indeed! Im so thankful i existed within the same time frame. Love my Elvis and my Jesus! Don't get me wrong, The Philharmonic Orchestra are great, but when someone slaps them behind Elvis' music, it can drive me insane. This has been done with a lot of his music, all thanks to Priscilla.....why she felt the need to mess with perfection is beyond me. A lot of Elvis fans will not listen to any Elvis songs that have the Philharmonic Orchestra behind it. It's an insult. What, was the Orchestra Elvis himself chose to back him up not good enough?? His music should be left alone, and not tempered with. Same goes for the people who feel the need to take one of Elvis' live performances and put the studio audio behind it, as if his live vocals are not good enough. Makes me livid. The studio audio is perfect, but Elvis live, far exceeds any studio recording. His live vocals should be left alone. But having said all that, great reaction, as always.

Ray another great video! But,I agree Elvis knew what sound good a didn’t! He knew how he wanted it to sound. In many rehearsal videos you see Elvis saying & singing it how he wanted it to sound. He made changes right then. He don’t get enough credit for a lot of things! Some people get on him cause he didn’t write any or his songs & there is a bunch of Entertainers that don’t & didnt! But something you said about how you don't really here hymns verses in Christmas music anymore. You know my favorite hymn is "Ave Maria". The music was written by Franz Schubert in 1825. It was originally titled "Ellen's Third Song". But if you read the original German to English translation of the lyrics (from "Hym To The Virgin"; it was a poem originally, just FYI) is quite beautiful. A maiden is praying to the Virgin Mary. It really is my favorite hymn to listen to and not just come Christmas time either. Sammy - I agree 100% about hearing songs and thinking that it would suit Elvis. My biggest fear is that somebody will produce it with AI. I've seen a couple of REALLY bad attempts at it, and I'm afraid as the technology advances, some of those songs might be produced at a level that will confuse the unaware. God Forbid.

There are hundreds of technical and creative decisions taken at production of this scale, by music producers!! Some work, some don't. And it is subjective. I personally am not a fan of this project, but multiple remix/ reversion projects have worked, and have made Elvis's music relevant to different audience. The irrational hatred for Priscilla is bizarre in this context. One would think she sat down and conducted a London Philharmonic Orchestra!! Some work, some don't. It is highly subjective. The point is focusing on one person and blaming them for something you don't like. Would you praise her for making Little Less JXL version the number one charter and introducing her to millions of young fans? Or for seminal albums/ FTDs that were helmed by Ernst Jorgensen and team? The very albums which undid the bad legacy of shoddy album concepts done by Colonel during Elvis's lifetime? The ones which made all the takes available to fans so that Elvis's creative process was made available to fans? Mind you, none of these undubbed takes and masters were meant to be made available to market originally. But how much enrichment they have given to Elvis fandom. Elvis interpreted many songs and pretty much changed the originals. He was not a conservative purist about his own music. He publicly praised artists who covered his songs. Who are we to draw boundaries to his music?

He always produced his own recordings and expected them yo be sold the way he wanted them. His anger was that RCA would alter the balance once he left the studio to suit themselves. His ambition was to sing with the power of a full 80 piece orchestra behind him because he knew that it would lend a majestic backing to his voice that wasn’t possible in a studio. He did have small orchestras backing him in Vegas which he loved to conduct and use to enhance his songs. The huge, worldwide success of the 3 albums proves his point that he would have been awesome singing with them. 👌💕🕺
