    Thanks for taking the time and effort for creating this video.
    This reminded me of my almost a century old paternal village house ( without the in-house water body ). There was a calming flow and harmony to the whole layout. Multiple units that constituted the joint family had their own individual spaces and privacy but never felt insular. All materials were sourced locally for the sprawling structure, with the typical 6-8 feet thick walls and lime used along with wood and "khapras" ( local name for those curved terracotta roof tiles) . While we used to be tormented by the Indian heat in our modern houses a couple of kms away in the city, summers were always cool and comfortable in this village home. Hope more of us look to our local environment and traditions to come up with solutions that have worked for centuries.
    I am not an architect but your approach made it quite easy for me to understand the project. Thanks and keep it up.

      Thank you for the appreciation and putting forth your story. Indeed our traditional architecture is a shared asset where solutions to our modern problems lie, just the way you described it. Glad to connect with non-architecture community too! Stay tuned for more!

    How can these designs be apply to smaller footprint houses? We need better design for smaller homes or apartments.

    Isn't Intimacy and trust the basis of any Indian architecture?
    Considering the 4 bedrooms even if 4 families live there the bigger size makes them feel distant, right?
    Correct my intuition if I am wrong, or what am I missing in the understanding. As far as I can understand, it can be used for hotel purposes and tourists.

      Of course, design is not ice cream and it doesn't have to be , so what may look good to you, may not actually be good and your taste could be just that bad.

    A circle is considered the worst as per Vastu. So this is not Indian Architecture.

    • @ShubhamSoni_Studios
      @ShubhamSoni_Studios  Місяць тому +38

      Hey! According to Vastu, the square is considered the purest geometry. However, historically, the circle is also a very important shape in Vastu. In temples, the Garbha Griha usually follows the geometry of the circle. Even in Chakra Vastu, the circle plays an important role.
      In this video, we define the architectural characteristics of Bijoy Jain's work as Indian architecture, and we are not talking about the shape here.
      After independence, India has struggled to define its identity in the architectural world. Architects like Charles Correa, B.V. Doshi, Bijoy Jain, and Anupama Kundoo play important roles in defining what is Indian architecture.

      Absolutely wrong. Circle is one of the most auspicious shapes and domes are also very pious due to their circular shapes.

      Indian architecture ≠ Hindu architecture

    Anything that doesn't serve a functional purpose and is purely aesthetic is essentially useless for the common man and makes it only a rich man's hobby. Therefore, any architect who focuses solely on aesthetics without considering functionality is not worth their salt.

    Nothing is defined.. And specific. No proper mass and void. Too much complexity in design.
