  • If you ask Swedes what the best smell in the world is, they are said to answer, “freshly baked cinnamon buns” or Kanelbullar how they are called in Swedish. The pastry is so popular there that it even has a national holiday. And it’s a beloved snack for Fika, the Swedish coffee break. We looked over the shoulder of baker Linea Andrae in Stockholm to find out how it’s done the right way.

Great job, Linnea for starting a business in something you are passionate about. Keep up the great work!
When I moved to Sweden, I didn't know why everyone was so obsessed with Kannelbulle (cinnamon buns). 3 years on, I'm hooked onto them and have my favorite places. I live 4 hours by train away from Stockholm and would love to visit Linnea's bakery one day to have a Fika break there 😊.

They are amazing but the Cardamom buns are even better!
I cook those Swedish buns every month, to be paired with a strong black coffee or chaï black tea.
The Swedish version is way tastier than the American "cream glazed" version.

DW Food, please give us the ratios of the ingredients. I'm sure Linnea wouldn't mind sharing that ;)

As an avid bread baker and cook i for the life of me i don't know why anyone would use margarine for anything.

It’s cheaper maybe? And easier to work with more pliable not so “brittle”?

margarine CAN be made in a healthy way that isn't some industrial slop. But rarely is.
