Once again a very informative and entertaining podcast. Kudos to you guys. This podcast has single-handedly pushed my intrigue of Singapore football scene to an actual match going fan starting this coming Community Shield match. Bringing the whole family out to our very first local football game. Hopefully this is a first of many to come this season! Majulah SPL!

I agree when you talk about Sailors is going to win the SPL this season but is not going to be a easy thing, teams like Balestier, Tampines and DPMM will be stronger than last year, Geylang has a decent team in my vision, obviously they need to improve and Albirex, well, they have Kazuaki Yoshinaga, i never understimate this guy.
24/25 season will be fire🔥

If i may lend one small suggestion, is to lead us about the topic to be discussed in the next podcast (local segment) , this can be done in Instagram, Facebook, etc...
I only ask so, as i notice that you are getting guest hosts who are from the fraternity and we may have some questions for your guest host/s.... i would have taunted (positively) Eddy with questions on how other clubs can replicate LCS's fan and club engagements - for example how to get a SPL club to endorse a fan group...etc... Keep it up guys...😀😀😀

The influx of foreign talent into our clubs promises a thrilling spectacle, spanning from Mexico to Timor Leste, Tunisia to Thailand, and beyond. Even our Young Lions showcased their potential (a big step up) in the recent pre-season tournament. DPMM has fortified their squad, the season is also setting the stage for Yoshinaga's true test of his mettle. The narrative for the upcoming season of the SPL is primed for intense drama, especially with the addition of the Shopee Cup. Let's not overlook the balance World Cup qualifiers, where our local SPL players aim to secure their spots in the national team. Hence they will be playing to earn the spot. To say it will be exciting is an understatement-it's set to be an exhilarating ride! 😀😀😀
Hi Guys, loving your podcasts since day 1. We have approximately 10 to 12 grass field functioning stadiums (e.g. Jurong west stadium, woodlands stadium, Clementi stadium) in Singapore. Yet, we are not able to get one of the stadiums to be VAR & pitch ready for the new season to avoid the over utilizing of Jalan Besar Stadium. I personally feel SPL clubs should get priority for utilizing of football pitches in SG.
From the pre season tournament, finally, I see some light in Young Lions. They look promising.
Tampines Rovers will give LCS a run for their money, but yar, LCS would likely win SPL
Shopee cup basically skipped by the big guns of Asean (at least for now).
Scheduling of the Pi Pi Pi Cup in mid-season is just a bizarre move.
Maybe Forest Li can sponsor a good modern football pitch at Bishan Stadium
unless they privatise and get to own the stadium instead?

Did you guys catch the news about parents getting upset that their kids had to wake up at 4:30am and rushed to Gombak stadium by 7am for their match that’s supposed to start at 8am only to find out there was double booking? Archery boards everywhere on the pitch. Field crunch is real. 🙃
There was a double booking issue at Bukit Gombak Stadium on Saturday morning. Archery and football. Unacceptable. Surely the SYL organizer can do better.
And lately no score update and no fixture as well. What is going on? Heard there is going to be a U21 league also. Where’s the fixture? How about the lower division SFL? What’s the plan?

By now, most of you guys would be aware of the incident that happened on Saturday morning, where players showed up for a SYL game at Bukit Gombak Stadium, only to find that the field had been booked for an exclusive archery session.
When Baihakki and you guys were talking about teething issues to be ironed out with the SYL, I'm don't think this is what any of you guys were expecting.
As others have brought up here, our pitch availability situation is quite bad, so management and coordination is important. This incident is just bad no matter how you spin it. It may not be (entirely) the fault of SYL organisers, but it's not going to help with the growth/image of the SYL...
1 correction, Jalan Besar stadium has 2 sides of seating, just that they almost never use the other seatings because i believe its unsheltered.
Agree with the stadium part. SG always builds a one-sided stadium. We want a real stadium where we have all 4 sided stands, not a half bake stadium
They already addressed that in the quintessential Singapore way, be pragmatic, NOT enough demand! Neil said it before, parents are willing to spend time ferrying kids across the island if need be for tuition classes, a lot of Singaporeans dun wan to spend hours in a stadium unless it is for rare events like Taylor Swift. Unfortunate truth, a lot of Singaporeans quite like the Covid lifestyle, even do grocery shopping through Redmart. We are very happy to follow and watch matches through UA-cam. So I agree with Eddy, SPL needs to invest in the camera angle.
May be clubs can make up for the loss in physical ticket sales with exclusive paid subscription for behind the scenes footages with player interactions, just like how a UA-camr will also have Patreon accounts to earn. Clubs have to innovate to circumvent the lack in demand for physical tickets
@hiroyukishinichi9873 yea i agree on that but a first world country with a third world stadium doesn't resembles our football. We are in a modern football era and we need a proper stadium. Maybe that will attract fans to come. Also, the camera angle wise, yes they ned to improvise as well
Artificial pitch is not good for professional footballers. They need to play on real grass.
