Hello first of all big thanks for this content!!!
Question:where is the best place to look during Combat?

Look at the whole person, focusing on his/her face. Sometimes we obtain information about the opponent's next move and psychology from the movement of his/her eyes.
The reason for looking at the whole body is to feel the opponent's sword tip, fist, shoulder, and other parts that move at the beginning of the movement in order to predict the movement.

Question: what do you mean when you say “set up”? Is it like step in, with seme, and try to make your opponent react? I ask as I notice, often these players momentarily pause just before striking, they get into a slightly lower posture, with Shinai paused, then the burst into striking. Is this the “set up”? Thank you 🙏🏻

Set up is the process of creating a state of superiority over the opponent before the final attack for Ippon.
This includes footwork, Seme and feints!
