Great detailed video. Wow, so much work goes into those frames. Cellulose acetate is such an interesting material, I like it.

Arguably the best material used for manufacturing spectacle frame. I have one which was very lasting and durable after more than a decade. This is why optical shops no longer want to sell it. The reason for their fall in sales revenue.

I think they are producing the frames for a good branding spectacle company.

    Wow thanks for the video.
I own 12 pairs of Sunglasses. Some of them are metal frame and Acetates. Always wondered how acetate glasses are made.

    Hello
I'm trying to make a difficult request
    Please help
I'm trying to design a frame
    I can’t do it because I don’t have a program to draw a pattern.
Looking at the screen you're looking at right now
I've seen eyeglass frames made easy with a computer
I would appreciate it if you let me download the design program

Name of the program is AutoCad, mostly engineers and designers use this program to model and give tolerances to drawing to speak the same language at model shop.

So much work for a $10 pair! And a lot of hand made work involved. wow how do they make money?

You can buy acetate frames for just 10$?

    • @dankim3950
      @dankim3950 4 роки тому +5

You won't be able to buy acetate frame for $10. Cost price direct from manufacture in China alone is $20-30 which is considered 'lower quality' and lower end of the acetate frame market. $10 will get you plastic frames imposed as acetate.

      My acetate frame cost $129.00.
They are beautiful sunglasses and fit perfect.
I have a pair of metal frames also. They are heavy on my nose.
They are beautiful too. But heavy.

Imagine doing that, 10 hours a day for $3. And then you go to your optician who sells you that frame for $300. LOL

Essentially the same. Methods as in the 1960’s. Then more manual labor with inexpensive. Equipment. Today, much more expensive equipment.

Surely the machine is different from the one in 1960's.
