A programming video would be great. I am considering a motenergy motor and sevcon controller, but have not scene the programming for in it in person. A different motor will obviously need different tuning, but tips on where and how to do it would be cool.
@@joeyvortex yeah I thought it would come ready to install but I was wrong can you configure any sevcon controller I do have the same motor but a sevcon 4 controller and my email is daviddyckfriessen@gmail.com
Joey please help! I've got a motenergy 1616 (liquid cooled) and a sevcon4 (size6) How can I aquire the program software ? Any contacts on the eastcoast? ensmingerdesign@gmail
Hey Joey, I found your same batteries at Battery space . com under the "EV/Golf Car/PowerSport" section. .... these types of batteries have poor C-rate looks like (maybe their different). With your application you'll need to make sure your batteries can support the peak motor rating. If you have done so already disregard this message, thx
You are spot on man! We got a deal in these batteries. They aren't bad for battery life and safety, but their peak discharge current is a limiting factor. For true performance, a high discharge and dangerous battery would be preferable. I might swap them out in the future with an NMC pack.
@@joeyvortex hey man what is an NMC pack? I am looking for some high-discharge LiPo packs. Turnigy multi-star is one, but they are all sold out and I guess their quality is going downhill now.
@@petertwiss356 NMC is Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide or LiNiMnCo. It's another Lithium ion flavor but they make some high discharge cells that are really light and small and you can get 5C continuous and 20C peak.
The bike is running great! Working on video edits now for the build video.
Let's see it!
when do u plan on having the video out?

Looking forward to the controller programming details. I'm using almost the exact same setup on a 1985 Honda CR 125 frame and plastic.
when the next part?
Really looking forward for the next part!
thank you very so much for this detailed parts and specs. starting a yz250 teardown! cheers bud
As an engineering student how did you go about finding resources for your project? (Such as, the components like the motor, battery, etc.)

Yeah, I will do a programming video. The manuals and procedures seem to be pretty hard to find.
Esperando mucho la 2ª parte
Waiting for next part :)
This is a great project.. and I am designing a conversion build with a near similar bike frame.. Any updates on the progress?
Any vids?
next part waiting :)
Any follow up? Great potential, did you get it finished?
Haven't seen an update since your first video. Let us know how its going...

I've been helping frank purchase the parts, been wondering what you were building
Do you need any test riders???
Hows the progress
We need more videos
What's up with the update??
You 90 percent finished already bro.

@@joeyvortex thanks Joey, sorry I do know of that chemistry. I thought it was maybe a brand, looking for a pack source for a build myself. thanks!

What happened to this guy?
THOSE BATTERIES ARENT GREAT FOR A BIKE, HEAVY, LOW POWER DENSITY. LIPO IS THE WAY TO GO. MORE AMPS ON DEMAND!
