    Of course it’s undemocratic. The idea is to create a perpetual sense of alarm and fear. The masses will then obediently fall into line while our “leaders” lead us out of of these various crises (which they have imposed upon us), in exchange for our freedoms and prosperity.

      Paul, I completely agree. I don’t think net zero is practical but I have no knowledge about the science. As a person I fully admit that we must make changes. WE meaning every nation on earth. It’s also crucial that a sensible time line be agreed upon. My gut guess is 200 to 400 years. What’s happening now has nothing at all to do with climate but about control, fear and submission. November 2006. we arrived 8 technicians from vestas DK, destination KENTISH FLATS offshore windfarm . several turbines had detected metal bits in the gear oil of the 20 ton planetary gearbox equipped with swarf sensors. the metal came from the gear eating it self. for 3 years we replaced gearbox after gearbox, having sometimes 3 crane ships sailing between harbor & windfarm , burning a lot of OIL in order to repair very expensive wind turbines that must generate @ full capacity for several years to compensate the energy used during production. moving wind turbines over land uses a lot of fuel, but it's a drop compared to the amount of oil a crane ship can consume in just one hour.
    these turbines will never be green. Good job GBN, cheers

Add to that, much of the lithium, cobalt and cadmium is mined using slave labour and, in some cases, child slave labour!

Lets say that net zero is a new house and we as the client selected a builder to build us a new retirement home for 2050. The builder went off and with no consultation with the client decided what he would build and where and when.. Did not bother asking if that was where the client wanted to live and if they thought the structure would be ok. Also decided to finish 20 years early. Now the plans keep changing as he keeps getting different architects to come up with a design and location. The client has not seen the plans, Does not know where they are going to live years earlier than intended but has to keep paying the builder for all the plans and drawings which they never see. How long would will they continue to employ that builder.

    All this will do is cost the average person a small fortune and the majority will be poorer than they were 50 years ago . Make electric cars cheaper and design a battery which can hold 1000 mile charge and I may be interested but at the moment the cost is beyond my pocket and the charge distance bothers me somewhere around 250 miles is ok if you just drive around town but for instance a drive down to Devon from where I live and you would need to worry about finding a charge point , also the cost of replacing the battery would make second hand electric cars an iffy purchase . I really believe we are being had by people who will stop at nothing to push the agenda .

    My question is…. Our atmosphere has a 0.04% CO2 content so if we were to achieve “net zero “ what would the trees and plants breathe??

    • @gbentley8176
      @gbentley8176 2 роки тому

      We are in fact at a level of CO2 in ppm that is rather too close to the minimum needs of respiring plants i.e. too low for them to assimilate the gas. The earth has historically thrived in ppm many times that of today. Climate alarmists should look at and promote the basis scientific facts. They do not and this is because money talks. True science is being ignored at our peril. Even the language is alarmist. No wonder young children are hyper worried because that is the mantra they are given 24 hrs per day. It is infuriating to see as a scientist now an old dinosaur, how our profession is being compromised for lies and half truths just so people can feel they are part of the new system of cl[mate net zero promoters.

    We should be more like Switzerland, and on big changes to our way of life, have a vote on a given subject. It's all very well to say both main parties support net zero, people are voting on lots of other issues, the net zero bollocks is there because all the elites have decided that's what THEY are going to do regardless of what the ordinary citizen wants! When people can't eat and heat, watch out! Sooner or later the masses will rise up and chaos & death will follow........

    In Australia it certainly is. We had 3 elections that were cast as a referendum on climate change and we voted against this BS. In the midst of the government loosing its mind during Covid they also betrayed the voting public and signed us up to net zero. We booted them out mostly over Covid but also because they adopted the Labor climate policy, so Labor got elected with the lowest vote in Australian history. They took this as a green light to go insane over climate. Just like Covid, who cares what the people want. As they say, if voting made a difference they wouldn’t let us do it.

Nobody asked me if I thought that giving up our own energy resources for those imported was a good idea. I'll say it's undemocratic when the government that I elected starts telling me what to think, do or say.

    Yes, net-zero is undemocratic. Any policy that impacts on all of our lives should be subject to referenda. And to state that a government was elected on one specific element of a party’s manifesto is ridiculous. Manifestos include many pledges, most of which don’t materialise. Governments should enable the wishes of the electorate, not the other way round
